Nestled deep in the heart of Seoul’s thriving downtown sits a curious hotel, the like of which no one has ever seen before. Old beyond measure, the building has stood for millennia, an ever-present testament to the fact that things are not always what they seem. Running this hotel is Jang Man Wol (IU), a greedy, suspicious soul who has spent the past thousand years acting as the establishment’s CEO.
Cursed for a sin she can no longer remember committing, Man Wol is doomed to spend all of the eternity running this odd establishment, catering to the needs of a most peculiar clientele. Her only hope of escape is to find someone who has committed a worse sin than her own but after a thousand years, she’s beginning to lose hope.
However, things take an interesting turn when Goo Chan Sung (Yeo Jin Goo) shows up. Once the youngest assistant manager ever to work at a multinational hotel corporation, Chan Sung finds himself forced to manage the Hotel del Luna because of a deal his father made with Man Wol years ago. A stickler for rules and regulations, he’s a perfectionist to the extreme but that may be exactly what this odd establishment and its cursed CEO needs.
A tale of old curses, lost souls, and unexpected surprises, “Hotel Del Luna” is a 2019 mystery, romance, fantasy drama directed by Oh Choong Hwan.

A drama with historical background, simultaneously functioning with the present world. And aesthetics. Yeo Jingoo and IU have both proven to be amazing actors in all their past projects too. So its an amazing one, for sure

IU is the heart of this drama. At first I was a bit meh about the lead actor cos he seemed inexperienced (found out he's a rookie) but I saw him grow as an actor throughout the drama which is kind of amazing. He's more expressive and less stiff. He's still got a long way to go, but I see a lot of potential. IU just went beyond her character and became the main attraction of the drama. I love every scene of hers, even in the scenes where shes not the focus, she steals it with a few seconds of her. I think this is her best work yet. She really fits well into these characters
TASMINT just an FYI, if you’re referring to Yeo Jin Goo, let me give you his background. He started acting at age 8, won numerous awards including the New Best Actor at the Blue Dragon Films for his movie Hwayi, the Monster Boy - he was 16 y.o., the youngest actor to ever win that award. Cannot mention all here but awards started when he was a child actor. Acted in many films and dramas and senior actors usually asked for him to be in their films. He is most REVERED by Directors and Producers, and the most recent drama he had The Crowned Clown was critically acclaimed. In fact, he was in the middle of filming the Crowned Clown when he was casted for Hotel Del Luna.
(Absolute Boyfriend was filmed in 2018 but aired in 2019). So, basically his drama for 2019 was The Crowned Clown and currently Hotel Del Luna both from TVN.
Btw, I agree with what you said, you saw the difference in his acting as the drama progresses, that’s what you call acting according to the given scenario. At the beginning he was bit stiff, why imagine yourself forced to work in a place you don’t want, with people you don’t know and then given to see ghosts, shouldn’t you be guarded with your actions but when he decided to join them and get acquainted with the environment, didn’t he loosened up. In real life, that’s the response. That’s great acting.

I cant keep myself from commenting, this commenter and who likes this is stupid and idiot in K-drama land.Iu played a once in a lifetime chatacter that actually fits her to a T, while Yeo Jin Goo is an award winning actor at his young age, faking rookie, lmao, even IU call him a sunbae.I can remember IU taking vidoes of him when he was acting scared at the first bts, she is obviously a bit pressured and amazed at the same time that she was acting with Yeo Jin Goo, the child boy wonder who was gave a brilliant performance in Moon Embracing the Sun as young Kim Soo Hyun.
