As much as I love to listen to a well tuned, well timed gasoline engine, there is something about the sound of that throaty growl and turbine whine of a diesel. It's a noise I have enjoyed for years.

To me the best sounding diesel engine was that V12 man marine diesel engine I just love the way that V12 sounded what those turbos .

They don’t make the engine as heavy duty as they used to old engine were made of real heavy parts to last forever !

The Rolls Royce Eagle was not a diesel engine. It was a 12 cylinder aviation gas motor developed for the RAF in WW1.

Amazing. I know of an old ATT building a few miles from my home that has in its basement, a huge 12 cylinder Cat generator. I bet it would still start up too if someone messed with it.

it's not very big. Were they in medium-sized ships like tugboats or something.

Those are some pretty cool engines that Caterpillar that started up that sounded like it was missing that must have been a V8 pre cup engine I used to have one in a semi truck years ago pretty pictures also

I have an old engine but can't get it to run it is from the 1920s twin flattered style diesel engine but with butterfly valves anyone have any ideas let me know and I will make a video of the engine
