Nice video Make me feel like I’m on the right way 6 home renovations in the last 2 years in Florida Preparing my self to tryout my GC license next year. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!
Great video! I'm happy I found it. I'm in the process of transitioning to general contracting, I've been in the remodeling industry for about 8 years, and I do all the work myself. I'm currently overloaded with work and it's hard to find anybody who wants to work. So I'm starting to subcontract stuff out. Thank you for your videos.
of course man, i'm happy to heard that you're transitioning into general contracting. Subcontracting out our work is so underrated, especially when thing start getting overwhelming
Great video! As someone in real estate, I found this to be an incredibly valuable source of knowledge. The level of detail and expertise provided is unmatched and I appreciate the effort put into making this video. I learned so much from watching it and it's definitely going to benefit me in my work. Thank you for sharing this valuable resource with us!
I have a MAJOR question. I have been wanting to find a new career, General Contracting is my new goal, however as I search online it says I must either have attended school or had experience for 4+ years.. here in the video you said there’s two types of Gen. Cont. 1 with full experience and the other with minimal but sales are good. Can you explain the difference between the two ? I was under the impression there’s only one General Contractor. However I don’t know and that’s why I’m here.
How can you become a general contractor with no experience? I’ve been in construction my whole working career. I am currently a commercial / industrial journeyman electrician but want to become a home builder. How would I start?
Hello Esteban this is halden I’ve been doing construction for about 3 years I got my diploma at the local college at 16 and I’m now 19 and I’m wanting to learn how to be a contractor and if you could be my mentor
This information is 100% wrong if you are saying you do not have to have a test and a certification through the Secretary of State and consumer affairs department. You must be licensed with knowledge proven in testing with financial documents to support your stability to be a licensed general contractor. Having a business license is not the same thing as being a licensed general contractor through the state, labor, and licensing and regulation board.
Agreed, information is inaccurate. Any project $500 and above requires a license. The only way you are not required to have a license is if you own the property and you apply for an owner builder permit.
In Ohio a state license is not required to be a general contractor it’s at a city discretion and most cities only require you to register like Lakewood Ohio, Mentor and Painesville Ohio and more! Oh a bond and insurance is required.
Do not get into this without any experience. You will be eaten alive by the competition and the contractors that have put in their time. Plus if you cant swing a hammer every guy on site is going to know just by looking at you.
This video feels dangerous. The information may be accurate in HIS state, but for example, in the state of Florida, this video is objectively inaccurate
Awesome that is American 🇺🇸 is getting smarter because allot of Jews people from Israel 🇮🇱 get here and in a week they get licenses🪪 and they grow there thousands of Jews us Americans need to encourage ourselves and our friends And get business done the bad thing is the Jewish general contractor hire unlicensed subcontractors. Witch make it hard for us that are actually licensed
Very well explained. Definitely a must watch for those wanting to start a career in general contracting. More vids please!
