You are methodical in your approach to jobs & it shows & rewards you in the end product, & you're actually a better teacher than you realise. Well done, hope yous are getting to enjoy your graft now 👏👏👏
Absolutely stunning result. Wow. The amount of work you put into this (from getting the right advice, to choosing the right stones, to prepping and finally installing them) has really paid off. Just stunning.
Not being patronising but you are doing a great job .learning as you go and passing on your knowledge to others. You remind me of myself in my younger years.I taught myself many skills and they live with me to this day.
When laying the block pavers down, you want to not make the mix flat on the ground but with the tip of your trowel, give little rivets in the top. This allows the block paver to sit nicer. Also the water will not rise to the top of the laid set. 😀 Looks awesome and I love your channel
I'm officially distracted by the dog. He looks like such a lover! Great video. I'm lucky enough to have loads of limestone to work with here in the south of France. Thanks for the quality, detailed instructions. Take care!
I love how your beautiful dog is totally confused when you are talking into some weird square plastic camera at 3:00 when all s/he wants is me me me me I brought you my ball dad, woof w00f, me me, waggle waggle, look at meeeeee !!
Great Path! What were the steps you took to create the elevated sub base? I'm guessing that it was the following: 1. Install timber edges 2. Lay road base and compact 3. Chip away road base along timber edges 4. Pour concrete into the edges
Hi. Love the channel - an inspiration! I know it was while ago but can you tell me where you bought the Vintage Stone Manor setts for the path please? Thanks, Stu.
Your dog is so cute😍 great job I'm thinking on doing this style of path in my garden🤔😅 Will you be doing your garden decking plans this summer? Or eny other projects in garden I love seeing the results your Pizza bbq is amazing!! I would love to make some think similar in my garden but don't think it would look as cool as yours 😒💕💕
Hi really enjoyed the video as I am looking to do a similar job. Could you advise what the Cobble setts were called and where you got them as they look ideal but I am really struggling to source?. The thinner, grey stones are exactly what I want, thanks
Hello, Just wondering if you encountered any loose setts after you lay them? If so how did you fix this or would the pointing hold it in place? This is because I've noticed 7 of mine are loose out of 360 setts after laying 24 hrs ago
I think the pallets of setts were around £400 for 12m2, which compared to basic sandstone patio flags seems alot however when used for 1m wide paths it goes a long way, (well 12m I guess!). We had plenty left over for other parts of the garden. As suggested by another subscriber more basic riven setts may be cheaper. TRC
Hey pal I'm doing my garden and I was just wondering can I pour cement over existing cement. It's old, crack but the water runs perfectly towards to drains. Pulling it all up requires alot more work. Failing that is tiling an option over it?
If it’s an old crack you may get away with it but could possibly crack again unless perhaps you reinforce it. Providing it’s not moving still, it is fine to lay patio over. I would prime with a slurry first or at least dampen concrete.
Looks amazing, must have cost a bit, I'm looking to doing my garden, paving slabs and grass, maybe artificial grass, and for a small terrace house doing it myself the materials, paving, mortar, shingle us about £400 and that's going with cheaper riven reclaimed sandstone.
I cringed slightly when you stuck your shovel into the mixer. I was taught on work experience on a building site to never put your shovel into the mixer as it could catch and end up with the mixer toppling or you spinning round and round or getting bashed about the face. thought it worth mentioning. otherwise excellent job.
A pallet of stone setts was around £450, (10m2) I think and I used just over a pallet for both top and bottom paths. Cement, sand etc and you would still be under £600.
can anybody help me and tell me how much i would expect to pay to have 50m2 of these in my garden please....garden is already prepped... 1..just labour cost to lay them with flowpoint grout 2 or labour to lay them only 3 plus labour to grout with sand and cement with grout bag. thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
Thats faaaar too much plasticiser sir. It causes effervescence in the mortar weakening your mix (not really a problem for a small path but be wary doing any structural works in the future)
I was going along with the 50ml or whatever it suggested on the bottle, I did look back at the video and I see what you mean, looks like I'm sloshing it in there! Pretty sure it was no more than a couple of caps worth just a nearly empty bottle. Thanks for the tip though.

My wife and I enjoy your DIY projects don’t stop great job

Good advice mate
You've done a great job mate. Cheers
Beautiful job ...perfect foundation... no shortcuts...perfect....AWSOME
well done mate. thanks for making the video
I'm officially distracted by the dog. He looks like such a lover! Great video. I'm lucky enough to have loads of limestone to work with here in the south of France. Thanks for the quality, detailed instructions. Take care!
Thanks Hannah. The dog is only interested in one thing, which is his tennis ball! Nice to have the company though. Good luck with your project!
Love your Doggo!
so beautiful. your garden looks so different. I have been watching the transformation, its incredible!
Love every one of this guys informative vids 👍👍👍
Great video and lots of good advice. Just remember to wet the stones before laying them in the mortar.
Thanks. No need to wet as we used an sbr slurry on the majority of them. 👍
I love how your beautiful dog is totally confused when you are talking into some weird square plastic camera at 3:00 when all s/he wants is me me me me I brought you my ball dad, woof w00f, me me, waggle waggle, look at meeeeee !!
Brilliant job, so impressed. Love your garden so much, encouraging my husband to try. If it doesn't work i'll find one like you LOL
Love the work you're doing. Awsome dog! He seems to be a very able supervisor.
great video and very informative , look forward to the next one cheers
Great video. Well shot and great advice. Thanks for taking the time
Impressive attention to detail.

Looking very good! I'm encouraged and inspired to get on with the jobs I need to do on my house.

Scouse Tony (Bristol)
Thanks Tony!
I LOVE THAT PUPPY.
Excellent video, enjoyed very much.
If you gat another dog such as a Labrador … or Labour…dor, you can have him do the mix for you 😂. Great job on the path.
You can use uni bond to brush stone before laying into concrete mix. Real Grip !!
Hi. Love the channel - an inspiration! I know it was while ago but can you tell me where you bought the Vintage Stone Manor setts for the path please? Thanks, Stu.
Ours were via Bradfords.
Should have brushed slurry seal primer under each tile as you lay them
I really like your videos very professional and also motive me to do the same as you well done keep doing
favourite vid so far
Thank you! Bit longer than usual but glad you liked it. :-)
Your dog is so cute😍 great job I'm thinking on doing this style of path in my garden🤔😅

what a fantastic job! well done
Great result👍👍
Great video and advice, just wondered how you achieved the camber, what was the process?
Thanks
Hi really enjoyed the video as I am looking to do a similar job. Could you advise what the Cobble setts were called and where you got them as they look ideal but I am really struggling to source?. The thinner, grey stones are exactly what I want, thanks
Hi, thanks for this thoughtful and helpful video. when you paid the slabs how did you preserve the camber and keep its consistency?
For god's sake throw the ball for the dog!!!
Seriously though, love your work.
Hello,
Just wondering if you encountered any loose setts after you lay them? If so how did you fix this or would the pointing hold it in place?
This is because I've noticed 7 of mine are loose out of 360 setts after laying 24 hrs ago
Great video.
Looks really good what mix cheers
looks nice mate, well done.
Great videos your honesty is really refreshing on TH-cam , please don't put you hand in the mixer when it's rolling , keep up the excellent videos .
Nice job like the stone
How did you manage the camber across the path dis you have a curve template ?
Great video. Thanks
You should be priming/back buttering those to make them stick better
What did ypu point this with in the end? Easyjoint like the patio?
What stones are those exactly? I'm interested in making a similar path. Thanks, Will
They are sandstone setts from stonemarket. These were the 'vintage' style I think.
Can you tell me the stone size please
What's the milky stuff you make up and cover the path in at 9:22?
What did you use to make the slurry bond?
hey great video has inspired me to get out and do a bit .. can i ask the cost . i cant seem to find a decent price for stone
I think the pallets of setts were around £400 for 12m2, which compared to basic sandstone patio flags seems alot however when used for 1m wide paths it goes a long way, (well 12m I guess!). Filling in a high patio with hard core material
Hi, great video, what size setts did you use?
Hey pal I'm doing my garden and I was just wondering can I pour cement over existing cement. It's old, crack but the water runs perfectly towards to drains. Pulling it all up requires alot more work. Failing that is tiling an option over it?
If it’s an old crack you may get away with it but could possibly crack again unless perhaps you reinforce it. Providing it’s not moving still, it is fine to lay patio over. I would prime with a slurry first or at least dampen concrete.
Where did you buy the stone from?
Have you tried travertine to path?
Looks amazing, must have cost a bit, I'm looking to doing my garden, paving slabs and grass, maybe artificial grass, and for a small terrace house doing it myself the materials, paving, mortar, shingle us about £400 and that's going with cheaper riven reclaimed sandstone.
i think thats a good price how long is path
+Mario Rossi meter wide 6 meters long, then it opens u to 12m long by 5 meters wide.
is 400 with stone also
+Mario Rossi yeah, a friends dad is getting rid of more than I need from his garden, letting me have 600x600 riven buff slabs for 50p each. 😀
thank you !
What is SBR. thanks
How do you compensate for droop in the string line over that length?
I didn’t. Pulled taught a builders line holds pretty well and was certainly accurate enough for what I needed. 👍
Mix looked a bit stiff, use the point of your trowel to wave and make peaks, just like laying bricks. Makes a better bond
very nice
How to restore the ruined path?
Nice job. Could you share the recipe for the slurry please ?
50/50 water and SBR, then thickened with cement until slurry like. 👍
@@TheRestorationCouple Thanks for the quick answer, but what is SBR ?
@@TheRestorationCouple Found it: Synthetic Based Rubber.
Nice
I cringed slightly when you stuck your shovel into the mixer. I was taught on work experience on a building site to never put your shovel into the mixer as it could catch and end up with the mixer toppling or you spinning round and round or getting bashed about the face. thought it worth mentioning. otherwise excellent job.
I actually used a bucket to measure out most of the mixes as it was more accurate, however the camera obviously caught me on a lazy half hour! :-)
@@TheRestorationCouple Excuses.
Yo that mixer was spinning so slow dread. Nice job. About to try do a 20x30 foot patio with my wife
What is the slurry mix comprised of?
50/50 water and SBR then thickened with Cement.
Didn't know about that. Ta.
How much did this roughly cost?
A pallet of stone setts was around £450, (10m2) I think and I used just over a pallet for both top and bottom paths. Cement, sand etc and you would still be under £600.
PERRITO BONITO
At first, I thought you said "crap old path" at the end of the video!
can anybody help me
and tell me how much i would expect to pay to have 50m2 of these in my garden please....garden is already prepped...
1..just labour cost to lay them with flowpoint grout
2 or labour to lay them only
3 plus labour to grout with sand and cement with grout bag.
thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
Wouldn’t say they were really a sett though
basically i want to copy everything your doing, just don't have the cash! love this path and the belly down sleepers with wooden dowels.
Let's face it, you'd never get that quality out of some (any) wanker tradie.
Uma calçadinha!!!
Thats faaaar too much plasticiser sir. It causes effervescence in the mortar weakening your mix (not really a problem for a small path but be wary doing any structural works in the future)

Great job but the same dog is still in the way.
It’s really hard to understand you
You find it hard*.
At first, I thought you said "crap old path" at the end of the video!
