Plot twist: You don't get to see the credits because it reveals that Pheoni was a serial killer who immediately killed Cheesey and buried her body with his other victims after the final cutscene. Janina was the real good guy since she was one of his victims who escaped. She was trying to prevent Pheoni from taking another person's life.
Little did we know she was sabotaging the surf contest so that Pheoni would show his true colours by having a break down allowing Janina to expose his crimes.

i know comparing weird/unnatural dialogue etc. to aliens is really obvious and overdone, but it seriously feels like the main character (and possibly vanessa and janina as well) is some kind of transcedental, immortal alien who's just been transferred into a human body. not only does it explain the weird dialogue, it why needing to eat has to be explained to her and why she takes so long to eat that apple, she isn't used to it. it's why she starts crying hysterically after not winning the dance minigame, she's unaccustomed to the human experience and emotions
