- Today we take a look at an extremely rare and beautiful piece of art! The hard to find limited edition Colossal Red Dragon miniature! WizKids D&D icons

I still have mine and the box from the day it released. I believe I paid $90 and when talking to a local game store own, he said he's pay me 80% of the ebay value because he wanted it for himself. Also offered more in the way of store credit. LOL! I used to do D&D competitive mini's when they first came out so I have a lot of the rares and special minis. Don't know if I'm ready to part with them yet but they seem like they are just being wasted on my shelves in my basement...
I Bought the Colossal Red Dragon for Dungeons & dragons for $89 new in the box, now those things are insanely priced $400-$600, gave it to my son with the D&D collection.
That is an awesome thing to do for your son!
I bought this secondhand awhile ago. Didn't include the flaming dragon's breath. Still looks awesome, tho.

Man, I bought one of these a while back for like $80 from one of my local game stores. It's actually still in the box, but I did take it out once because I wanted to compare it to the Alduin figure my friend gave me.
He can hold a D20 in his claw, and in his tail curl.
I got it on ebay, but no breath weapon.

You can still get this “holy grail” all over eBay for sub 500. There are always at least 6 listed. No signs of noticeable rarity
i paid 230-250 recently, but i'll have to do some touch ups since the guy who had it prior managed to drop it and it has prior work done to fix the whole 'dropped' issues. Very cool model though

Insert the cone of fire into the mouth, in the middle of the feet there is a notch where the bottom portion of the fire cone attaches 👌

It depends sometimes it does, and sometimes I’ve seen that it doesn’t fully stay stuck on the bottom. Mine typically will stay in place just sticking it into the mouth.

This is the only colossal dragon that has ever been produced for D&D. All the other Icons dragons of the time, including the Black, Blue and White were Gargantuan-sized. The current Icons of the Realms Dragon Premiums are either all technically Huge (the Adult dragons) or Gargantuan (like Arveiaturace, the white). I guess it can be argued that Arveiaturace-and the four other forthcoming Gargantuan dragons-are actually Gargantuan/Colossal.
@@Captainpigraven yes, Arveiaturace has a larger area span due to being on all 4s, than even this red. next ancient is apparently green, so lets see if they make each a big bigger than the previous. imagine what the blue, red, gold, silver will be like :D Personally id prefer if they made these massive models with their new plastic sprue unpainted/unprimed line but i doubt they will. then they would be in the GW warhammer price range and lots of D&D players already complain of the cost...

I actually bought this bad boy back when he first came out(along with the other three, "smaller" ones). But then due to circumstance, I lost them all. However, I actually found him again in a "local" listing here in Norway 2 1/2 years back! Someone had listed it as a toy(!), and with a shipping cost of $15, I got him for a total of $60! :D
Of course, no box, and I had to reglue a part of the wing. But otherwise in great condition, and it came with the fire cone! ;)

I’d like to point out this miniature isn’t a WizKids miniature (as stated in the title). It’s from the old Icons line of dragons that Wizards of the Coast put out during their own prepainted production run of minis from 2003-2010. This particular piece was released on September 5th, 2006. While the old Icons dragon line is easily confused with the Icons of the Realms dragon line of today (which is produced by WizKids), none of those original WotC pieces were made by WizKids.
I haven’t watched the video yet, so maybe you correct yourself in the video. But it’s not reflected in the title, and therefore worth mentioning.

@@justincasegaming7903 Of course I did! It"s pretty cool to watch another passionate collector's pieces and even if I own a little more than 6000 painted minis (including historicals, but they count!), I am always interested in seeing those I missed (and a bit heartbroken too sometimes!)

@@justincasegaming7903 actually, Superturtle said ancient. the new ancient white that released is bigger in that it has a larger footprint, but its not as tall since its on all fours. Wizkids said overall it is their largest dragon model. They have an...adult i think red coming in april which is much smaller. BUT, they said about 2 ancients per year. the next later this year is apparently a green. I guess the new ancient red will be in a year or 2... imagine what that will be like :D AND they are doing a new line of unpainted/unprimed plastic sprue D&D models (like GW sprue style). hopefully they do some massive models like GW does :D :D
I bought one these a few days after it was released back in 2007. I threw away the fire because it broke, but I remember it seeking for $75 store price. The black, blue, and white ones also old for $50. Too bad they couldn’t even finish the Chromatic setz

You're right in how hard one of these guys is to find. I've been after this one for years now, with no luck (at under $300 anyways). Yours is in great condition! Great find!

This guy is incredible, my buddy keeps his at my house since we play over here (when plagues aren't happening.) Do you have the Gargantuan Black, Blue, Orcus, and Icingdeath(white) from the same line?
Not yet I do not. Sadly enough I haven’t been able to get my hands on those gems. I’m still keeping my eye out though! I’ve always wanted them and would love to do a review on those guys.
I have the complete line and they are all outstanding miniatures (if you can call them that).
i clicked on the video because i recognised the miniature in the thumbnail and then realised its identical to the one my dad has, looking through the comments i see that they can be worth a bit of money... jk jk jk
