Then this episode aired. It was everything about it - the music, the atmosphere, the agonized scream Goku gives when he pushes through - that just resonated with me and inspired me to keep going. I eventually did learn to walk again and had made a nearly complete recovery a year and a half later. I will always love DBZ and this theme in particular for giving me the strength to break through that wall over twenty years ago.

My dudes, ladies, lovers and friends, quick backstory on this track. I actually did this one during a really dark time during the pandemic. So the eeries and darkness of the cello around the one minute is the expression of the fear and helpness that I felt. The emotions of the vocals is my sadness of feeling like a failure.. and the last aggressive dubstep part was my absolute frustration with the state of the world and this pandemic. Luckily she didn't have Covid and ended up being ok, but it was the time in my life I felt the biggest fear imaginable and and like might have lost the person most important to me. I really, REALLY love most of this track. More specifically, I love the softer choir stuff, the more emotional stuff like what is at the beginning and the end. I'd kill for a softer version of this, like a track that was more focused on Goku's sorrow rather than his fury. Overall, love the track though.

But style wise I just always did what I thought would emotionslly represent how I felt about said character and the first time I've heard the theme played in the anime.
