90s "trip hop'" has its own flavor. Dusty recipes records. Samples from forgotten albums. I absolutely love it. I miss the record stores. The digging. Discovering something new in the wild. Remember the Headz complilations? Yeah, I still got that on wax.
Reminds me of my skateboard days need to get on a deck again can’t believe it was only two minutes ago I was 17 listening to hip hop I’m 47 now and still kicking it big yawl to hip hop 50years nuff respect keep it real ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻🎃
Miss listenin to John Howard bust Mo’Wax, Ninja Tunes Up, Bustle & Out, and Peace Feast records at DV8 in SF. Also Mark Farina at the Mushroom Jazz parties. I miss the 90’s club scene in the Bay.
This right here is what today's music is missing. I long for the good ole/new days of trip hop from the 90s. Hell, any music from the 90s (all genre) were satisfying for me.
Big up James Lavelle and the mo wax trippin, trip hop and big beats. I thought they were metal headz but found they are the original headz. Confusing marketing in publishing. Great to drive to or read a book. You know. If you don't know. Get to know!!!.
This man I remember sitting with mates one of which had got hold of some Tecnics 12 10's listening to these folks. Huge thanks for reminding me of them! 😊
There were a few Mo Wax mixes by the Psychonauts back in the day. The best one is called 60 mins of Mo Wax shit by the Psychonauts, top notch selection and execution
What an absolutely corking selection of tunes! I've loved these since discovering them in the 90s, what an incredible thought... Just listening to 2000 - RPM, it's as sublime now as it was then, it stays with me, it's still my favourite music. And some of these people, still making great music, Luke Vibert, DJ Krush and hopefully many more if under different names.
..desde el inicio se siente la magia, y eso fue así como me estuvo envolviendo durante este hermoso viaje musical. Gracias por compartir esta joya musical.
So glad to run across this. I do an all vinyl trip hop night here in Atlanta and there's a few of these I still need to find! Great mix. Def an archive of a great era. A++
Ah man that Shadow remix really takes me back! The whole mix reminds me of listening to vinyl in my mates bedroom in the 90s, going through the records we'd just bought from labels like Ninja Tune, MoWax, Warp.... miss those days! Thanks so much for the nostalgia trip : )
@@TheDaddyO44 My kind of shit, straight off. Will give it a focused listen in the next few days... Bit of data for you: when your message came though I was replaying NEAT NEAT NEAT by The Damned for, like, the millionth time. Hey, what can I tell you, I'm a Boomer! 😉
Absolutely, and I doubt Boards Of Canada's "Music Has The Right To Children" (one of my all time faves) would have sounded quite the way it does without Mo Wax and Warp in the years leading up to it
Thanks bud. man I spent a ton to buy these tunes back in the day at Liquid Sky, Breakbeat Science or Tower. all my cd's are scratched and my records are warped.
Trying to listen to this while I work but the 90s nostalgia is a powerful brew. Incredible selection, I don't sub to many channels but made an exception for yours. Liking the look of the other mixes, The Field, Giegling etc, I think we have similar tastes, looking forward to digging deeper and your future vids. Nice one 👍
Thanks for all your mixes! You really saved my master thesis, even though it ended up sucking ass. But atleast I finished it and these mixes were extremely helpful for focusing.
Sick mix. Weed/drug references not necessary on a public platform though. I djed hip hop all through the 90s to today inc loads of mowax and fat jazzy grooves but Ive never smoked a joint in my life but still enjoy mowax with clarity, so not all hip hop heads are drug addicts just a lot of them. Hip hop can also be used as a force for good, teaching breaking mcing etc as a way of distracting kids from drugs and gangs so they dont turn out the dead heads the non hip hop public stereotypes expect. After all its just amazing music and genius creativity

Same here. 49 years old and managed 88 to 04 before absolutely ruining my back having a skate renaissance in late 20s. Still miss it badly. From uk
There was a point in my life where i pretty much owned everything mo wax put out on vinyl. What a time. What a label.
Huge Mo Wax fan, this is an incredible tribute 🥰 🎶
Good ol' Mo'Wax. No matter how long I'm straying off this sound, I'm always pulled back to it. Halcyon days for creativity.

Its 1996 and Im a freshman at UW Madison...walking around campus in my ufos, crispy visor...headphones on....hoody up; nodding to these very beats.

This is a majorly underrated comment. Also... I play a lot of streetfighter to this mix. Also.. I just got a 37 win streak off of this.
big big big !!! god of trip hop selection beats !!

In the top three " Best Labels " of the 90's !!!! ❤❤❤❤

glad this was shared with me. headphones on, volume up and designs are flowing.
Nice!!!!! Good to hear Matt
Hell yeah! Not enough Mo'Wax content online TBH (major streaming services etc). It feels almost like a forgotten era at this point.
Yeah I certainly feel the label hasn't had quite the recognition it should have. It's influence was huge! Thanks man
Glad we kept it underground...👍
There is a classic James Lavelle essential mix from back in the day on you tube, he mixes DMX n Tears for Fears at one point, what a duo!
Im the greatest pure breakbeat Dj when I play this back at 1.25x
Only just found this mix... Awesome! I have been collecting MoWax Vinyl since 1993!
Sounds like a precious collection. Glad you approve 😉👍
one of my favourite mixes of all time

Amazing mix of tracks.
Love the Mo Wax label and also trip hop acts like
Massive Attack, Portishead, UNKLE, DJ Shadow, DJ Krush, Tricky, ALLFLAWS
Oh wow, thanks for putting this up - There’s a few Ninja Tune mixes around but don’t think I’ve ever heard a pure Mo Wax mixtape before.
Likewise. I was stoked for this.
