    What's up with this narrative that the Boks are not good at chasing games? I have been hearing this a lot lately from our ill-informed analysts from up north. In the 3 test series against England when Rassie first took over, the opening 2 games, SA came from behind to win both matches and England had over 20 point lead on both occasions if I'm not mistaken.
    Against the All Blacks in the 16 all game in 2019, they came back to draw against them in NZ. There are a number of other games too that they came from behind, i.e. against France in the dying minutes at the end of year tour.
    I love how they just keep talking nonsense to their own detriment.

      Being thinking the same thing. Also, the Boks can, and do, run the ball. This is a test series which happens, for SA, once every 12 years. I remember when the Boks lost back in 1997 and it was a sad time. Test matches should be tight and hard fought. Defence, particularly at the moment, is a strength of SA so their initial focus is on defending, getting a turnover and then countering, mostly with a kick.
      The All Blacks and Wallabies are brilliant at intricate backline moves which is not the case for the Boks. Although there have been some great moves in the past. I think Rassie, in his current position, is looking to nurture that. I remember when he was a player that he loved an expansive game.
      I hope for a good game on Saturday.

    Alan Quinlan has a skewed perspective on the 2 tests, as does Ian Foster. I think the first 2 tests were everything anyone could want in a test. Ferocious, intense, top technical skills, unrelenting defence and taking attacking opportunities when they arise. Would he assume that a free flowing Barbarians style try fest is preferable? Did the Lions kick the synthetic leather off the ball, yes? Did it help them? No. Were the Boks maniacally effective in their game management? Yes. Were the Boks creative and effective on attack? Yes.

    Let’s face it NH team would have needed an extra man to win that 2nd test e.g. Kolbe or Faf to get their red cards. 15 on 15 Boks were stronger on the ball and defensively. Lions back 3 were horrific under the high ball and coughed up ball “over & over” - no wonder Boks confidence grew and grew. Boks were stronger in the scrum. Boks dominated more and more in the line-outs esp as game wore on. Rassie pulled a 62 min master stroke which effectively slowed the game down massively and took out any fitness advantage the Lions might have had. I’m wondering why anyone is expecting Lions to win this 3rd test? Can Lions tip the balance in the scrum or line-out?… Doubtful imho. Can they come up with a better game plan…. possibly. Can they speed up the game and can they not lose all the 50/50s….Yes. We NHers can dream on but turning it around now is a huge ask. Here’s hoping for a better spectacle and may the officials call it fairly and the better team win. Up rugby!

      @@dionjacolynseneviratne3193 Hahaha even you attempt at a diss contradicts your previous statement. So if we just squeezed past Wales then surly that would be considered "playing our final" but yet we went on to obliterate England and win our 3rd world cup. How many does Wales have again? I can't remember.

      No true, Europeans don’t like Southern Hemisphere teams because we always moer them. They have all the money and resources, but they are still no match for the boks.

    Who is undercooked ? Really? Most of the SA team were playing high level all season. Yes, they never played together for 2 years but the Lions have never played together. VDM should play if they actually attack. Its like GT does not exist. He would never play this way for Scotland against SA and last time it was around a 4 pt game. Play some rugby. I would rather watch a 35 - 30 loss

    2nd half 2nd test, in fact most of 2nd test was FAR from a decent game of rugby. It was sheer brutality, 62 minutes per half!, and if this was ever used to promote our lovely game, not many youngsters would be queuing to get involved. Bring back pure rugby, style and decency.....

      What the hell is pure Northern hemisphere rugby? The northern hemisphere rugby I knew growing up was forward dominated and devoid of flashy backline play. It was always NZ that showed the world what running rugby was. SA now has that part to its game (both tries we’re back line v only 1 forward try from Lions) but it is overshadowed by just how dominant our forwards are. The hard work is done up front and finished with backline flair.

      At this stage of the series it seems as if Gatland does not know which way to turn. He is bringing more physicality to the game with his changes. Like Sticks said in Chasing the sun. You don't challenge the Springboks when it comes physicality.

    • @Amandla-Awethu
      @Amandla-Awethu 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      OF is one of the worst examples of sportsmanship I have seen in the modern era. He doesn’t inspire an ounce of leadership. The only thing he leads by example with is dirty play. AWJ is 10x the leader OF will ever be. That coming from a South African with no interest in who the captain is.

    • @hiltonbaron1588
      @hiltonbaron1588 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I surpose AJ is the best they can do with regards to captaincy. My quest is are they(Lions) going to play a running expansive game? Kolbe and Cobus are good ball interceptors so they may not and we may smother them with our rush defence and slow down the game like we did with England.
