    I’m still looking to see what path to take, I’m on the cusp of being a certified MA and possible do nursing after. Idk if I want to be a NP or a PA

      It’s tough to pick! I suggest you do some research on the nursing versus medical model. That may help you decide:)

    Hi, Sam did you know they're working on an advanced practice respiratory therapist program? This level, above an rrt puts respiratory therapist on a comparable level to np's and PA's respectfully. Granting the aprt's similar autonomy and duties (diagnose, some prescription writing, diagnostic tests, counseling etc) as their mid level physician cohort's.

    Not sure if you’ll see this cause it’s been 2 years since you made this video but I’m an RRT looking into PA schools. All I’m finding for online programs are bridge for people with PA certs already who need to get their masters. How do I find programs for people going into PA for the first time but is still online? The struggle.

    I’m thinking about doing a post bac after I graduate this year. I would need to do a two year post bac to be competitive and to feel okay with my application. Should I get a b.a. in respiratory therapy since that’s a two year program? I’m interested in respiratory therapy, I’m just wondering if I should do a two year post bac or just do a ba in respiratory therapy.

    • @SamKellyPA
      @SamKellyPA  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hi! so if you're not planning on using your respiratory degree to work as an RT and you plan to just take classes then go right into pa I would pick another track. I would pick a post bacc program that has more broad medical/health science courses or ones that are specifically for pre-med/pre-pa and that align better with the prereqs.

    How would you compare RT to PA school? Going into RT school and I see a lot of comments about how challenging RT school is and the stress of certification exams. Now that you have experienced both, are they alike or similar when it comes to workload and test taking? Love your videos!

I will also be living with my fiancé so I hope I don’t stress her out much. I heard if your relationship survives PA school you can survive anything lol
