Being an Officer in BSF, I really support any effort to restrengthen Indo-Pak relations. My friends who are Major, Captain in Army also share this feeling.
It's just those illiterate, ignorant, unemployed ones who speak filth on such sensitive issues. Really shame on those people irrespective of their country.Just think how many men & Women sacrifice their lives in a war. What if ur father, brother, mother or sister is in armed forces? by extremists in Pakistaan. Despite many loosing their lives they have not changed their beliefs and have crores of followers in Pakistaan as well as India and world over ! So many sufi saints worship places have been vandalised and bombed resulting in tremendous losses of life and property ! Despite, their mureeds bravely follow their teachings! India and Pakistaan approx. spend rs 5 lac crores annually, on defence, this can be put to good use for hospitals, schools, colleges, infrastructure, factories! Crores of people in both countries will become prosperous.
Still there are miles to go (Pandit Nehru) before there is end to starvation, farmer suicides, unemplyed suicides, last month 3 children in Delhi died of starvation. All decent Indians are ashamed! The least we can do is to strenthen hands of those members of our society who are seeking peaceful solutions. Europeans realising futility of wars have opted for peaceful co_existance thro European Union, thus reaping peace dividends and economic and social growth .They solve their differences and disputes thro discussions and negotiations. Why can't Asians do the same? Example of how Greece was nursed back from the brink of financial disaster, so also govts of Portugal and Spain were helped to overcome financial distress by govts of Germany, France and UK., even Brexit is being negotiated without raised voices calmly by both parties. This is the face of realpolitik we Asians should emulate!
