This was really interesting. I just started with advent puzzling last year ( I watched your video from then). I think this year I may be doing more than one advent puzzle. All of these looked really nice. I want to make up my mind at the end of series but Jumbo is definitely in the running.
We’re only on day one and I’ve already added Jumbo to my list for next year! Love the images!! Thank you for putting so much hard work into making this series!
Hello from the Netherlands! I just came across your channel and I really like your videos. I am just doing my first 1000 piece puzzle in years! It is a puzzle I picked up in the UK, based on Agatha Christies books, it is called The World of Hercule Poirot. Wasgij and Jan van Haasteren are very common here :)
Thank you. I have seen these on the internet, an I have been wondering what they would be like, as they are a bit more expensive than I normally pay for a jigsaw. However I really liked that the 2 from Jumbo, are all little stand alone jigsaws. Great for when you just want to sit an do something to take your mind off everything in the middle of the silly season.
Thanks for sharing! All 3 look like fun. I love the concept of the Gibsons, but the finished ornament is kind of huge for my tastes. If they were a bit smaller, that'd be my choice!
Aauugghh! I’ve got both the Wasgij and the Jan van Haasteren Advent puzzles, just waiting for December 1, so sadly I can’t watch! (BTW, I love Jumbo puzzles-I do every Jan van Haasteren I can get my hands on; I love doing cartoon-art puzzles most of all.).
I’ll definitely be getting the Jan Van Haasteren one. They’re my favorite puzzles. So fun! Used to have 133 in my collection but had to move and downsize ☹️. I agree, not a fan of the punch out but the zipper bags will keep the pieces safe. Thanks for the review.
I did a Gibsons advent calendar a couple of years ago. Not impressed with the glue which didn't seem to hold the pieces. In the end I cut out cardboard the same shape as the jigsaws and stuck that on the back using double sided tape. All much firmer now. I don't plan on doing any more jigsaw advent calendars.
I haven't done any advent puzzles previously, but I'm waiting on a christmassy Gibsons that another puzzler made into an advent calendar! We really don't have a good selection of these kinds of puzzles, so I see a lot of people exchanging or selling/buying in FB puzzling groups.
Great video! I bought both these this year too! Can you tell me how big each puzzle is? I'm trying to figure out how big of a puzzle board I need to use😊
Argh, still can't make a choice, haha. Both the Wasgij and Jan van Haasteren advent calendars look really fun. By the way, your pronunciation of Jan van Haasteren is actually pretty good!
They are so fun!! I think if I had to pick only one, I like the Wasjig for images. They are a bit funny because the parachutes of presents don't end up in the best locations. Also, thank you!
Jumbo is one of my favorite brands! I love the Wasgij series and the quality is always great!
Loved it! Excited to see more from this brand.
The wasgij series is awesome! Did about 20 this past year😅
@@loes6839 That sounds amazing!
The Gibsons would be cute done on paper and used as little gift tags or cards!
Gift tags!!!! What a good idea!
I got both of the Jumbo's this year. I'm looking forward to them

Good luck with your decision!

Glad I could help!
I am totally getting the “Wasjig” advent calendar puzzle. I already purchased it today from the link you have in the description below😊
Hope you enjoy it!
Looking forward to more advent reviews 🎉
More to come!
I like the one that makes ornaments! I do lots of trees with themes. That would make a great jigsaw Xmas tree! 🌲
Ooooo that could be fun!

Someone suggested using them as gift tags which would be fun too.
@@thecasualpuzzler That would be cute too.
I’ve got the Wasgij one this year and I’m very excited for it 😊
Me too!! Excited to see the other images.
Thank you for this review. It is so helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Really enjoyed your thoughts on these advent puzzles.
Awesome!

Totally understand! I only show three of the days to not give all spoilers but in general the quality and images were amazing!
@ I hope you enjoy them!

Wow!! That was quite the collection!!

I am not a glue expert but didn't mind it too much. Like the concept though!
weeeeeeee here we go!!!!

I did a puzzle exchange last year and really enjoyed it!

@ Thanks!! Than I go for the wasgij calendar:)
Jumbo quality is fab, have got a couple thrifting. I like these as advents because Im not a super fan of the Wasjig as a big count.
Thats a good thrift find!
I can get the 2023 Gibsons for €24. The 2024 one is €43. Will the 2023 be good enough or would you recommend just getting this years version
Don't sweat the pronunciation of wasgij, it's just jigsaw spelled backwards, so pronounce it however feels good to you! 😊
Thanks for the tip!
