Sorry but I didn't skip ahead.. I enjoy your whole videos. Your son is going to be a wonderful little farmer the way is picking up on how Dad raising him.. Miss Jenn. With the John Dreere out doing driveway work.. Why wasn't you get it done... oh wait? Bet you would have if it was a Oliver 88... huh?
When I was your boys age, my dad used a stone-boat to level the drive (and fields). He never used stone in it however, he always used my brother and me. We would ride in the stone-boat behind and the tractor. Needless to say, it drove my over protective mother nuts. LOL
There is nothing better than springtime on the farm. I pray everything goes well and you all have a safe and productive season. Stay safe, and God bless.
Have seen you guys on the tube for awhile now. There’s lots of heart in program. I was a young kid on the farm when my dad in the seventies bought cattle across Canada. He couldn’t ship the farm milk. Government dump the milk down the drain.
When Jen was uploading the video and asked me how it was spelled, we Googled it, and that was the first time I saw that some places called them shares and some shears.
I really appreciate how you include your kids in the recordng wherever you can and safe. I heard you say previously "you just got done with work" or as today "I have to go to work now"(?) besides farming what else do you and your wife do? Thank you for including us in your farm lifestyle. Hope your kids keep it goin
Corn field looking good there bud. Nice adaptive engineering aka making it fit on the plow cultivator. We did a lot of that when we worked the farm. Farmers here in South Central Virginia are a little late getting stuff in the ground. The soil is still a little too wet.
Just watched the video and yet again another great video. Seeing the kids help with the footage was a great part and all in all another great video. Question is though why mow the stalks down and not just plow them into the dirt? Anyway can’t wait till the next video. Great footage
Hey Alan. Nice to see tillage prep. Was my favorite time of year except harvest. Just curious,,,did you have a race with Aaron from Gierok Farms to see who got to the razor first? Really enjoying your videos. Keep em coming.
Hi! From Ireland. Got the same job as you done about a week ago, yeah it’s the warm weather look here too. Beard gone hair short! I’m getting to the stage where I will shortly need to rub sun cream on the old skull as the hair is getting a bit thin on top!
Nice video from the boys. I never liked when my dad leveled the driveway. It was more difficult to ride bikes with the loose gravel. Would that stalk chopper work to cut brush or not recommended?
Do the no till farmers chop the stalks and then plant between the old rows? How many consecutive years can they do this before the old root balls become a problem? Thanks for reading and responding to comments.
Corn after corn consecutively can create diseases. That’s why a lot of them will rotate crops like to soybeans or hay. But as far no till corn into corn stalks, it’s not done very often. They will chop up the stalks I believe then plant.
A man of many talents I see a lot of small farmers over here in England have to find another income to help the farm stay afloat, my fathering law runs a coal yard from his farm yard, it help him out in the winter months and is slow when it’s harvest time so it works out good.
I love this time of year. Especially when it's time to turn the soil and get the cows out on new grass. BTW, I'll be traveling through your area the Monday after mother's day. Would love to get a first hand tour, if possible.
We bought all those coulters used, I put all new bearings and grease in the other ones, this one was turning fine so I left it alone. Yeah I probably should have pulled it apart and greased it, but I didn't.it would be nice if they had grease fittings on them, so you wouldn't have to pull the bearings apart every time.
I don't skip ahead...every minute is pure joy.
I really like trinity one of my favorit hes small farm like we grew up around
It’s good to see the kids outside and learning. It seems small but the education is priceless!!
I'm studying the front of the IH 770 Plow for a Plow project 😊

That 560 looks good on the chopper!

Thank you and your family
Nice set of calf hutches. They ever fill up,?
Seems like once a year for a bit, they are all full.
Nice to finally get on the fields a little bit. At least think about planting now.
By the way,,,560 looks great.
Ewe boy, I can see a bunch of free advice coming on this one. You guys are fortunate them haters pointing everything you're doing wrong by golly.

A fast hitch on the tractor works good with the stalk chopper. Good job kiddos on the video
Awesome video
good to see old iron still working
I would call them shares here in Central Pennsylvania
When Jen was uploading the video and asked me how it was spelled, we Googled it, and that was the first time I saw that some places called them shares and some shears.

If I don't mow them first, they will plug the plow like crazy!

Look 👀 like that railroad tie does a good job on the road
Stalk chopper works good. Looks like about 12’ wide.
Yeah I think it's about 12'
Alan the ingenuity of the small farmer!!! Do you ever bale the stalks for bedding?
Jordan nice video work.
I never have. They are usually too wet.

It doesn't really work well on brush. It does work on overgrown grassy areas.

I'm not sure, I've never done no till corn.

You said you have got to get to work? Is the farm not your full time job?
I also drive school bus
I was about to ask the same question

Do you use the stock chopper so you don't have to plow every field?? I've never seen one around northwest ohio or maybe we use a large mower
If I don't chop the stalks, they will plug up the tillage equipment.
Where is your nearest case IH dealer
Arnold's in St cloud, about 100 miles.
On a Cold old damp day on a tractor with no cab I’m in a hurry to get it over with
Do I hear a John Deere? your boy is pretty good on the camera!
Yup, Jen's dad has his B

Like that tractor won't pull that plow even though it does year after year.
Ah, you noticed that, too.
👍👍🐄🐄
👍👌❤️🇨🇦,
Probably if you had greased it, it wouldn’t have frozen up.
