I had “the religious mom” no bikini swimsuit, no boyfriends, no cursing and mandatory youth group and bible study. The hardest thing was no Harry Potter, Halloween or anything that seemed to “spooky” lol I felt very left out growing up! Did anyone else have to go to “the silver ring thing “? It’s literally a concert where you get married to Jesus lolololol 😭
I don't like that being branded as the religious mum because not all religious mothers are like that. My mum is uber religious, but I wasn't prevented from watching anything witchy/scary. My favourite movie growing up was coraline, and I watched Harry Potter movies every Christmas period. I even read books about mage craft, witches, vampires, you name it. Only time she stopped me reading anything was when I tried to read 50 shades of grey 😅 tbh, I'm glad she did because the book was poorly written. She was much more concerned with me watching sexual things, which seemed to be the case with many of my friends who had religious parents also. So anytime a GOT episode came out, if someone watched the episode before the rest we would give warnings if there were sex scenes, so we knew not to have the parents present 😅
I was raised like that, the good thing about it was it taught me to not worry about what everyone else is doing all the time and be an individual. I tried to loosen up when I left the house but it wasn't all fun like everyone made it sound. Not partying and having multiple boyfriends saved me some heartache and kept me out of trouble at least. I'm thankful to my mom for that.

I sat next to a “dog mom” at a show who told me we’re a lot a like since I homeschool my kids and she’s training her puppy to be a good dog. She said she never had time to do anything since her dog keeps her so busy so she’s practically a stay-at-home mom. 🤦🏼♀️

I have to clean up vomit, break up fights, my kids are clingy and get jealous when I'm cuddling with one of the others, I had to baby-proof my entire house because if there was a danger, my kids would find a way to trigger it, I don't sleep well because I've always got kids crawling in the bed with me, I have to hand feed my youngest who can't eat by herself, makes a ridiculous mess and gets distracted super easily... But I'm a proud mom of my 4 disabled cats. 😸 P.S. I love teasing my sister, who has 2 human kids, about how hard it is to be a mom.
