Robert Wilson ( Keyboards ), Charlie Wilson ( Lead Vocals ) And Robert Wilson ( Bass ).... Founding Members Of The Gap Band In 1967 In Tulsa, OK. G.A.P. Band ... Greenwood / Archer / Pine Streets That Were Part Of " Black Wall Street " In Tulsa, OK.
The music didn't change by accident. This was by design. We are being infiltrated through our music. The negative, hateful, misogynistic music is being pushed for a reason. We MUST wake up. 😮💛
Absolutely ever since the 90s the shift, the game plan to ultimately destroy the family structure in our community has been bought and paid for. One thing about it is that we need to stop selling out to our own destruction. We need to stop supporting the whoremongers the no good images of the black man, putting up with his disrespect of you ladies, putting the trash talk record on a throne making him rich. These affirmations that he puts to music and beats, travel infinitely sound travels. It's in the ears of God and he is not pleased with it, so neither should you be when you hold the key to life you are the Gateway to heaven. Don't support that kind of music.
This music allowed the men to be men and women to be soft/femine. This is sundresses and walks at dusk. Candles and long kisses. Sitting on the beach watching the horizon.
Thank you Ashley!!! One of the greatest groups back in the 80s and 90s. I hope that you go down the rabbit hole and blow up your channel by doing these foundational groups because you have a phenomenal history to uncover!!! The Gap Band (Outstanding, You Dropped the Bomb on Me, etc.), The SOS Band, The Isley Brothers, LTD & Jeffrey Osborne, Earth, Wind and Fire, Shalamar & Howard Hewitt, Teddy Pendergrass (My Latest, My Greatest Inspiration LIVE) Luther Vandross, Barry White, Debarge and so many others!!! You can do as other reactors do and try a few a day (if your camera holds up!!!) I am excited about your potential and discovery of the world before. I certainly am here for advice and support to the younger generations. Let's do this!!! ⭐🎙️🎵
Queen I'm 43 and I never left this era of music besides my father raising me this music taught me how to be a man and how to love correctly out of cherish what you got.
A straight up 2-Step classic.....Gap Band had jams that were all over R&B radio....Charlie Wilson's voice is timeless....Also was sampled for Nas' masterpiece Illmatic. Iconic.
Naw Ashley, you ain't tripp'n😂 That's definitely Uncle Charlie! Other songs by The Gap Band you'll love are Burn Rubber On Me, You Dropped A Bomb On Me, Outstanding, Early In The Morning, and Party Train. Really enjoying your journey through old school music! There is so much great music from back in the day! Enjoy the ride!😊
"Yearnin' For Your Love" by The GAP Band made being on the dance floor when this was released so beautiful. Slow dancing with a beautiful woman was like being in paradise. I can understand why you're 'preaching' for how romantic the songs were. After all, you are a teacher. Right, Ashley?
My favorite song by Gap Band (Greenwood, Archer & Pine) and Charlie Wilson. Keep bringing them with "Outstanding", "Early in the Morning", "You Dropped a Bomb on Me", "Going in Circles", "I Don't Believe You Want to Get Up and Dance", "Oops Upside Your Head", "Sweeter than Candy".
I was 21yrs old when this song came out, and we were at a house party in batimore, md jamming hard everybody was just slow danceing all at once. this is what music really sounds like. real men and real women.
Great choice! Charlie Wilson started the Gap Band with his brothers Ronnie and Robert in the 70s. When older brother Robert died, Charlie and Ronnie decided to retire the group, and Charlie went solo.
Alright. This song never gets old. Oh yeah , straight up barbeque music. There's the card game going on , uncle RoRo dancing, the kids and tell cousin Roy to stop blocking up the bathroom with that girl!!!
I remember this use to come on mellow moods. I never knew it was the Gap Band and I never connected him to Charlie Wilson. But they were smooth and cool , bring real music back!
Live in Concert was incredible! Live sounds like the Recording. Blessings to my Uncle's who took me to these live shows with their date's when I was 7, 8, 9, 10 to teens. I saw these Artist's live in their hey day. The Concerts were mostly outside in ball field stadium's with back to back band's and incredible Artist. Rest in peace Uncle Robert who took me with him and his date's. So blessed when I think back.
That’s Charlie, one of the founding members of the gap band. He used to be their lead singer. Man it’s a trip that you are this young and don’t know all this. 😊
This song was amazing when it first came out and still is amazing. I'm so glad to have grown up in the era of great music . At 60 yrs old when i hear this song it still takes me back to better times man what fun we had back then smh i wish we could bring back this era of good Music 😊
One of the baddest groups ever. & uncle charlie still is fire at seventy one yrs of age and killing the game as soloist, , I was glad I was able to see them plenty of times perform at the coliseum back in the day, yes this is uncle charlie performing with his late brothers
They have to have learned something about this to get back to it, it comes from generations of experiencing loves ups and downs, it's in the heart and soul of love changes
Back then you had to know how to play an instrument and not just sing. Charlie and his brothers all from Oklahoma and sang in there dad’s church. Back then the church was the sounding board for artists. Today, majority of new singers can not play an instrument and try to sound like other popular artists. Also back then you knew who was singing because each one or group had distinctive sounds and vocals. Today it’s hard to distinguish who’s who…
PREACH!! I GREW UP IN THE LATE 70’s& 80’s WHERE SOON AS YOU HEARD THE SONG CAME ON YOU ALREADY KNEW WHO WAS SINGING THAT SONG.SHIIID THESE DAYS I DON’T HAVE A CLUE WHO THE HELL IS SINGING!!!
I learned that secret a long time ago, but no matter how well I thought I was managing my love situation...I still got burnt a few times. No complaints--that's life.
Having a bad day, but knew Ashley would turn it around…thanks Ashley! This was a bad a** group back in the day. Keep going down the music rabbit hole - So much more to get into with old soul singers/groups.
