They have the same types at EVERY SINGLE MATCHMAKING, i hate this, every character like de same😭
I think it's bc of their hair color
I can see it working with brunettes like Hazu Kashibuchi, Horuda Puresu or Ajia Ashitomi, but Shoku's light brown and Kyuji's faded red don't mix well with the shade of brown YanDev picked for their skin :/

My complaint with the matchmaking method is having to change the suitor's appearance. Like Senpai looks NOTHING like what they're interested! So what is it that makes them flock to him? Would they want him to change his appearance when they get together?
It just doesn't make any sense
The rivals hang out with senpia And that's how they got to like him but if you do Match making route.You have to make the suitor looked like their ideal boyfriend Toro might not look like their ideal boyfriend. But they he. The rivals got to like him by hanging out with him. If Suitors. hang out with them, more often than they might have fell in love with them instead. But the suitors have no courage to do that So you have to make them look like their ideal boyfriend for them to actually have Courage to do that
With the reject method, they are trying to get taro love back And they're trying to make him feel the same way as them
honestly i dont like the implication of shoku needing to change himself in order to be worthy of amai's affection. atleast thats how it comes off to me. i can somewhat get past the "senpai gets mad bitches" mechanic of the game, bc its just a game/could be justified with anime logic (its not the greatest writing ever, but oh well). but i feel like changing the suitor's appearance is unneeded.
also id like to mention that the writing for amai's week overall feels kinda meh tier. atleast w osana, theyre childhood friends so it feels more natural for them to like each other. amai likes taro because............ she wanted some random guy that was sad once to like her? really? if someone said that to me while they confessed their love to me, i would not date them. like her confession made her look like shes jealous of how much taro cared about osana.
and also the sabotage events are also meh, because its pretty clear someone is interfering with the events. atleast with osana, it was poisoning the bento, losing the book, replacing the gift, and making her oversleep. a good chunk of those events arent super obvious. but no, amai sees her cake getting vandalized (after her phone got stolen), someone replacing the apron, ants being at the picnic, and the recipe sabotage and DOESNT at all suspect anything? and taro also doesnt suspect anything either? in fact, taro is like "wow amai youre cringe and i dont care at all as to why these weird events are happening." like............ okay? it feels very unnatural. i get that its a game and all, but i cant suspend my disbelief that far.
also someone else pointed this out, but im not a fan of osana and taro not talking or having interactions. theyre childhood friends, so its weird that they act like strangers the moment her week is over. maybe if it was the befriend or matchmaking elimination, they should still be friends. in the befriend elimination, ayano just asks her rival to let her have a chance w taro, not to cut complete contact with him. or maybe after the rejection week, they could eventually go back and be friends again. with the other girls (besides hanako), i dont think this should apply to them. i believe everyone else is a stranger to him at the beginning of their week. so itd make sense if they cut contact after the week is over.

@@animemaster768 because it doesnt feel natural. nobody talks or thinks in that way. put yourself in amai's shoes and surely youd realize someone is doing something to sabotage your plans. its not subtle in the slighest. like "somehow theres ants at my picnic, my food art got ruined while my phone went missing, taro's apron was switched with a pink one, and everyone that ate my baked goods got sick." if amai was able to suspect that the gothic bakery was sabotaging her business, then she should be able to do it here. senpai also comes off as a massive prick here, because most of these are just accidents. ants at a picnic? dont they see the sugar on the blanket? weird cake art being posted? she couldve been hacked or posted the wrong picture on accident. the apron being pink? maybe she misplaced the black apron. senpai brushss her off too quickly and he looks like a huge douche for it. and yet amai keeps trying to befriend him? okay... literally none of this is how people talk irl

Personally think that matchmaking should be done by more than just change the suitors’ appearance and telling them what topics to talk about
Maybe sabotaging events like the rejection elimination, but instead try to create chances that the suitors and rivals “accidentally” meet and develop feelings for each other
Or help them win the rival’s heart in more exclusive ways (such as introducing Kyuji to Osana’s fanfics and let him make compliments on them/making him protect Osana from her stalker, or helping Shoku prepare a love meal for Amai/giving him the courage to stand up against the Gothic bakery for her)
Cuz well…a romance that is built on some makeup and cosmetics never ends long
Another suggestion
It would be nice if you could team up with former rivals eliminated by befriending for peaceful eliminations
Like maybe get Osana to enter the cooking club (she said she was interested in cooking after all) and try to convince Amai into leaving senpai alone or even falling in love with Shouku
Or even some more elimination methods like teaming up with Mida to get a rival expelled/teaming up with Osoro to blackmail a rival or teaming up with Hanako to convince Taro into rejecting the rival
That would make the befriending route value more
YES oh my god finally someone who have the same vision as me! i also think that so too! changing suitor appearance to fit the rival's ideal boyfriend type is one thing but making them(the suitor) do something else to win the rivals heart are another! adding unique way a suitor to confess are actually a rare thing in games like yansim, knowing yansim is a popular game and that many people want more of it, im sure going over the budget would make the game more worth it to buy(when YandereDev finally finish the game that is...) but either way, YandereDev should try to up his game and made the gameplay more unique(not like it's not unique) and interesting for veteran and maybe new players too!

If you don't like his look in the game when you match making then don't match making. The rival there's other ways to stop the rival from confessing

You have to change the suitors. Appearance for the rival to fall in love with him And give you more love points.
To make sure they fall in love by friday But if you can make him have enough love points for the rival before friday you can change him back
He did already look good, and then he had to downgrade for the "requirements of matchmaking". Tragic.

It's so superficial and sad that the suitors have to change their entire appearance to win rival's hearts... I wish Yandev removes this in the final version of the game, after all Senpai doesn't have any of these prefferences but even so the rivals loves him...
And the rival's fall in love with senpia is because they hang out with him if if the suitors hanged out with rivals they might have been in love with them but the Suitors are not brave enough to do that So to make the suitor you have to make the suitors look like their ideal boyfriend And also give them advice on how to interact with the rival
