Whenever Luca talks about the baby, he actually, "glows"! His love shines through!
I noticed that, too!
I agree -- I believe this baby will always in his heart be known as "baby girl"! A very exciting time for welcoming this baby to the world with so much love for her and the love you have for each other.

And I love it whenever he says "Baby Girl," like it's her name!
I’ve followed you for months and have loved the honesty and sincerity you are. This daily video has been a highlight for me. I’m 78 and am sitting at a campsite at Lake Georgetown Texas with my dog Truffles in my sprinter RV. You give me hope for the future of mankind.
I wish every couple thinking of pledging their life to each other could watch your vlogs. You are both an example of what real love looks like. I am sure you have your moments of disagreement; your human. But your commitment to each other in good and bad times is so refreshing to see in our world today. Thank you for letting us into your lives.
In America, we usually stock up early on diapers and bum wipes for a baby. Some newborn sizes, but because they grow so fast, some bigger sizes too. It is fun to start small like that as well as burp clothes, bath time items, etc. As the time gets closer, then the larger furniture pieces and a baby pouch body carrier.
I'm so happy for both of you.

I was sad to learn today was the last of the daily vlogs. I’ve enjoyed the glimpse into your daily life. (Is there anything that Luca can’t do?!) I’ll keep you in our prayers for a resolution of your infection and that you two be allowed to give birth together. 🙏🏻
I've never had children so I couldn't tell you what physical items you might need for your baby. But I do know that you guys already have the most important ingredient, which is LOVE! You guys have a lot of that and your new baby will feel incredible love from you both! Congratulations again from Paul in Firenze!!!

I am also a traveler and I appreciate your adventures but funny enough my favourite videos were the ones you shot at Lucky land renovating the place, maybe because it resonated with the current times that we are all experiencing where we are staying home and making the most of the situation. Love sharing Sara's pregnancy development your 8 daily vlogs were so "natural" and relatable. Sometimes the simple things are the best...
First, I just want to say thank you so much for sharing this week with us. They were all lovely episodes and thanks Luca for explaining more about why the stovepipe was so close to the wall. For the baby, a small bassinet or something to sleep in, diapers, wipes, (or soft washclothes), a few onesies, soft flannel blankets to swadle the baby girl, (are one of the grandma's knitting or crocheting her a baby blanket?), socks or booties, a little hat, car seat, and lots of love. I truly hope Luca can be with you during the process, don't loose faith, if the last couple of years have taught us anything, it's that things can change on a dime. All the best, and have a blessed wonderful Christmas with your families.

Absolutely I can see the infection raising the blood sugar, so that is actually a silver lining not to have "real gestational diabetes" even if it will influence your treaments. Love will carry you through to a wonderful new phase of your lives! Great content and editing too!

Sara, you are very well informed. Antibiotics do increase blood sugar. You can have one carb meal a week , its winter, you need some carbs to stay warm!!
Hello guys, Items for the baby are one piece gowns and booties for the baby feet. Maybe some gloves for her hands so she doesn't scratch her face. Good luck with everything. Trish for Texas
I am so glad you asked about baby necessities. A car seat will be absolutely necessary although only for when you are driving. During the first year to two years when walking around town and on hikes you need the “snugly” baby carrier you use on your’s or Luca’s chest. These are invaluable and absolutely the best way to bond with your baby girl and for safety also as well as a great way to get your figure back. After the first year your daughter can graduate to the carrier you wear on your back. These are much better than the stroller during the first 18 months or so.
Hopefully things will change for the better before the baby comes! Babies need very little in the beginning! You need a car seat, blankets, onesies and sleepers, diapers, wipes, and a mat you can put down to change the baby on! I changed my babies on the bed, sofa, and floor more than I ever did on the changing table. They slept with us (Dr Sears, our pediatrician, recommended wearing your baby and shared sleeping) for many years so the crib was barely used. You’ll need a baby sling and if you’ll breastfeed then a quality pump (and bottles or bags for storage) is great!
Sara, Google the term ‘swaddle blanket.’ When babies are born, they are comforted with a snuggly type blanket that mimics being in the womb. It calms them down and makes them feel more secure. I did this with my son almost 18 years ago with a regular baby blanket but now they actually make the swaddle blankets that are designed just for this purpose. So excited for you and Luca! A swaddle is good, but babies need freedom to move their hands and legs freely 🙂
@@shanalawrence4381 Yes, correct, and that is inevitable. But when they are first born and fussy, it’s a great calming solution. Eventually, babies will start to adapt to their surroundings, sounds, sensory, etc. and mom and baby will decide when swaddling is no longer necessary.
The daily blogs were great. I know it was a lot of work but the series was done very well, I hope all the doctor appointment and test go well.
Might I suggest that along with your diet, you take a daily multi-vitamin supplement with a concentration of Vitamin D and some Zinc.

Although it will be 49 years this coming March since my twins were born, the most important things I feel are needed are whatever kind of diapers you will use (lots of them), warm baby blankets & outfits, baby bottles & accessories, no matter how you intend to feed her. That's a start. Luca, you are a "MacGiver". I love all your videos, so can't pick just one. Wishing both of you happy holidays. Thank you for letting us feel like one of your family members. Baby must haves: 1) You need somewhere for the baby to sleep. You should not have baby sleep inside your bed coverings because of the danger from SIDS. Have her in a bassinet beside the bed or in a co-sleeper on the bed. 2) A few diapers (hospital may give you & you can buy more later). 3) Car seat. 4) Nursing pads, nipple cream, nursing bra (if you are breastfeeding). 5) A few spit-up cloths and little blankets for swaddling. 6) Closer to when you give birth, a few little clothes based on what size they think the baby will be. 7) Baby thermometer. All the other clothes and other things can come later. Blessings to you, Luca & Babygirl ❤️
I can’t say that we have experience with these, but everyone we know who has had a baby has said that a diaper genie is a life saver (and keeps the home livable). Home life wouldn’t be the same without it.
It was a real treat to share these past eight days with the two of you. Thank you for putting in the extra work to produce all the videos. Sara, in answer to your question about what things you will need for your baby girl, of course you will need a safety approved baby car seat to bring her home from the hospital. Also lots of blankets and onesies. You need backups of those since babies do frequently spit up and/or leak through their diapers and soil these things. A binky (pacifier) or two for soothing the baby is a good idea, although none of my four kids ever liked them. I pray that Luca will be able to be in the delivery room with you. You both have always shared everything in your life together, and it would break my heart to think that you wouldn’t be together for the most important event in your lives thus far. So fingers crossed for that to be possible. 🤞🤞🤞 And I pray that your tests go well this week. 🙏🙏 Your theory about your gestational diabetes being caused by the infection sounds very reasonable. I really looked forward to seeing your vlogs this week, it was like meeting up with friends. Good luck with your hospital visits this week and try not to think too far ahead to the birth and let it spoil your pregnancy. Rules change all the time so hopefully Luca will be allowed in. 🤞

I've spent most of my adult life around children. My own mainly but babysat ALOT OF OTHER PEOPLE'S kids also 😊.
The main thing the hospital wants you to do is have a good carseat for baby( they might tell you, over here in the u.s. the hospital checks your car seat, making sure its installed properly). Remember baby grows real fast so when getting clothes, try to get bigger sizes also. I like night gowns, or onesies are great for baby. Also recieving blankets, baby sleeps real good swaddled properly. A pacifier is great also. That's all I can think of right now. It'll come to you over time. Information comes as you go. Dearest Sarah my eyes swelled with tears when I heard you may be required to give birth with a mask on. I want to 💕 encourage you. My daughter had to give birth while wearing a mask in Oct of 2020. She said it didn’t bother her and she made it through beautifully. I pray the same for you if you have to wear one. Baby girl will have the most loving Mother. Thank You for sharing. 💜

Love seeing life in another country in a remote mountain area. Wishing you better news on your pregnancy and infection. All will be ok and you have each other to weather any storm! I am curious how Luca knows so much about so many handy things?! I am a 6 time grandma and am impressed with the convertible car seat, stroller combo! Of course swaddles are a must!

Hi guys! My daughter's are now 22 & 24. The best baby item is the diaper genie. I had 2. One for each room. You'll love it. It's amazing!!! Get lots of pj's & onesies. The baby will throw up. I changed the baby's clothes at least 2 to 3 times a day. Don't forget the towel to put over your shoulder. When you burp the baby. That's usually when a lil throw up happens. Something the baby needs: a car seat. We like the kinds that comes in two parts: the base stays attached to the seat of the car while the top part detaches and allows you to carry the baby to/from the car.

Hello Sara and Luca congratulations on your marriage and baby girl. I have two little ones and I have a few suggestions that I hope help you on your journey as parents. Items for baby: carseat to bring the baby home in ( try to have this ready in the last trimester so you're ready if baby comes early), wipes and diapers (babies usually wear nb (new born) size during the day and then put baby in one size larger at night) this will help then stay dryer longer which means they sleep longer at night, swaddling blankets (these give baby a lot of comfort. For you Sara post pregnancy undergarments will keep you comfortable and if you choose to breast feed nursing bras, breast pads, and nipple balm. Before baby comes cook meals and store them in your freezer so after baby is here you just need to heat and eat. Thank you for your amazing positive videos. I have enjoyed this extra week of vlogs and following your daily lives. In answer to your question about items for the baby--less is more. She will outgrow the infant clothes overnight. Your weather will change and the heavy coats will become too small and not needed as the sun warms you all. Keep it simple. You are in a home with washer and dryer, so need for tons of clothes and blankets. I am almost 78 have two sons, one of whom is 50, so be minimalists. Love you both

Now that you both are living at home and will be having a little baby girl to take care of, I look forward to seeing what you do around the house inside and outside. Watching the baby grow up and seeing her reactions to nature and all the places you take her to will be a new adventure as well.
Everyone reacts different to antibiotics. You have to find and know which family of antibiotics works for your body. Very disappointing that Luca will not be able to be there for birth. Damn It!!! This virus thing has been the worst years of my life. I am so over it by now. I am isolated too long by myself. Mentally it wears me down. Blessed you are together during it all.
For my baby I loved having several waterproof quilted bed pads. So if there was a pee leak it didn't ruin sheets and mattress. They are portable too. So I would take one with me on trips away from home. The other thing was lots of old fashion cotton diapers. So handy for many baby things. And of course many pacifier's.

Our favorite product for our babies was the plastic baby bathtub. It's designed for the contour of a baby's body, so it's comfortable for the baby. Plus you can take the tub and bathe the baby anywhere in the house which makes it comfortable for parents.

I had a big foam sponge for putting in the sink or tub for my babies to lie on when I bathed them. That way, they didn't slip around in the bath, and it was something soft for them to lie on. I also loved one piece stretchy sleepers for them to wear because they were soft and comfortable and grew with them a little bit, instead of their feet poking out because they were too small. And one can NEVER have enough bibs, for when they eat or when they start drooling when teething.
