    They need to be graded by PMG for more face value, beautiful currency from the past.

      Getting novelty notes graded would be an unnecessary expense. The $10 Gold certificate is worth grading. Maybe one day I will have it graded...

    Yep, funny backs were all Series 1928 to E, and 1934. There was indeed a Series 1928 $1 US Note. The Motto In God We Trust was added first to the $1 Silver Certificates in 1957 including the older Series 1935G to H designs. For all other notes, Series 1963 or 1963A depending upon the denomination were the first to have the Motto.
    As far as Gold Certificates go, none had the motto, and for small sized issues, only the green backs were for general use, while the gold backs were strictly for government use only.

      Only the higher denoms and 1934 gold certificates were used for that purpose.1928 gold certificate lower denoms were used for general circulation

    I like those novelty notes, they're nicely done. I only have a 10 & 20 dollar note. You think your forgetful, wait till you're pushing 70 buddy. That's why they print books! 😂

      Hey brother. I agree with the detail, and the quality on these novelty pieces. The creator of these numismatic pieces knew what they were doing when they created and printed these notes.
      They were fairly priced, too. I think I put the price I paid and the vendors information. If not let me know and I will let you know where I got them from.
      I be forgetting all kinds of things. TBI (traumatic brain injury) time in service...

    Since you have a gold note do you collect gold coins also. I have a few old gold coins before the prices went through the roof to give my 10 dollar gold note some depth by matching it with my 10 dollar gold coin.

      Hey brother. I do not have any gold coins. Coins just do not have my interest like that.
      There are a few coins that have some nostalgia tied to them for me, but nothing exotic. Your Mercury Dimes, Liberty coins, Statehood, and Presidential quarters are some examples. No Gold coins though...

    I have also novelty notes but I keep those in a separate section of my currency collection so it want give the thought could his other notes be fakes, you would believe how fellow collectors think. The only gold notes I have is the 10 because the higher notes are expensive because most where probably destroyed when the notes where order to be turn in. You know whats crazy the large size notes (gold) which I collect also are really not that expensive vs the small ones. SMH

      I concur with your thoughts regarding keeping the novelty pieces separated from your authentic currency. But you know what's real and what isn't in your collection. I don't care what others think of my collection. I collect for me, and no other collector. The only time other eyes are laid upon my notes, is when I display them to make a new episode.
      You're also correct regarding the large size Gold Certificates too. I have found them to be somewhat more affordable than small size notes. Go figure. I think for the reason you stated earlier...

    Curious why would they say copy as it came from a legit source if the bills was never created instead of fantasy. I know the FEDs are really sensitive when it comes to playing around with there money.

    • @legaltender1980
      @legaltender1980  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Counterfeiting reasons. It's even illegal to sell counterfeit notes. So the word COPY has to be present, and the dimensions of the replica note can match the dimensions of real notes. It's a Federal law, and a policy enforced by Ebay. It states that on the page where I purchased the numismatic novelty pieces from...
