    Being a TH-camr is very similar to running your own business. You should upload things people want to see, just like businessman should offer product/service that people need. And when the growth becomes real, you can consider hiring people to help you run your channel more efficiently. The most difficult part is starting and growing of course, but consistency and hard work (with a little bit of help from Fame - ster of course) will always pay off at the end.

    • @TheModernFilmmaker
      @TheModernFilmmaker 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +31

      Try to cut out the rambling in the edit and keep things moving. Over time as you hear yourself condensed down, you will actually start to replicate that in real life. It's similar to how it helps a shooter to edit their own footage in the beginning because in the process they learn how NOT to shoot. They will start shooting a lot less useless footage and the overall quality of shots will rise... Keep on the journey 👊✌️

    Good morning. About three weeks ago I restarted my TH-cam journey with a serious goal that I'm working hard towards. And during this time I've seen many videos showing you how to go from “0 to 1000 Subscribers in 30 days” but none of those videos stood out to me as much as yours. Your sincerity and your ability to relate to your audience is refreshing. Just last night I was inspired to start formulating videos charting my journey from a “realistic” perspective and then I woke up and saw this video which is a sign that I'm on the right path. And finally, you may not realize it now but in making this video you did not give your audience just another “How To” video, you gave us an experience and THAT is the ingredient of a GREAT content creator. I pray the best of God's blessing for you my VA neighbor. 🙏🏼✨

    I started uploading short videos consistently in summer 2021. I think my channel is at 79k subs because I didn't copy any other channels but were inspired by them and I put my own spin on it. I scoured TH-cam for other TH-camrs in Detroit and in my niche and there might be just one other channel doing something similar to mine but my channel is unique. It's never too late to start a TH-cam channel in 2024 but it's more saturated than ever and getting your channel to grow is getting more difficult.

  • @tyrekewatson5144

    Thank you for sharing this, it will help a lot. People often forget that being a TH-camr is like running a business. You give people what they want, and they reward you with their attention, resulting in income. Of course, it is tough to start and grow to the point you are monetized (but with a little bit of Famester everything is possible. I can't emphasize how much this online tool has helped me).

    First, why is he wearing a winter jacket and shorts? 😂 All jokes aside, this video randomly popped up on my TH-cam feed and it's exactly what I needed. I'm a music and sports journalist whose best skill is writing, but all of these media companies (i.e. Pitchfork, Complex, Okayplayer, etc.) are going through major writer layoffs and pivoting to video/social media content. It's not my strength, but I've been trying to buy a camera, get some equipment and pivot my writing into social media. However, I don't want to sound or look like everyone else that's established. I say all of that to say this video was really helpful in giving me the confidence to just try stuff and get going.

    Champion! I made it to the end! Thank you so much. Keep up the great work. You just made filming so much understanding. I am filming first video for my other TH-cam channel this week. Your advise is Godsend. And will be 90% useful. Thank you again.

    I know you said you were just exhausting the location but the shot with the posts at the concrete wall were my favorite actually. Also really appreciate the tips, especially not trimming all the fat off, that one hit home forsure

    I'm an artist, but i also want to become a filmmaker just because i love music too and you know, cinema is the combination of both image and sound. So this year, i got my first ever camera (Sony a6700), got myself some cool lenses, cool lighting kit and a cool mic. This video is so inspiring to me.

    Good take on the copy cat mentality. I think it's important to copy in order to learn, but that you have to copy a bunch of different things, see what works, add it to your arsenal, and then keep leveling up. The straight jump to some low hanging fruit then the desire to stick with it is what is making a ton of mediocre content continue to pop up. I'm happy to see more people trying to stand out and do things differently, but it's really difficult. It's all I want to learn how to do at this point.

    Yo at first I was like: "37 mins is a LOOONG time for a TH-cam in 2024 video" But this was soooo much more. You might need to change the title. Cuz this is lowkey one of the best videos on "How To Make Cinematic Vlogs By Yourself". Many people cover that topic, but they don't show the actual setting up of the camera, angles, and the mindset to get it done.

    I found you, doing exactly what you're talking about... figuring out how to bring my own special sauce to the videos I make.
    There are several channels in the space that I'm kinda aiming for. But, I'm coming at it from a completely different place with completely different experiences, so it's nice to have what I've already been think reconfirmed... that I need to lean into my unique strengths. (Which include photography, so I appreciate all the technical knowledge that you have to share on cinematography, it helps fill in some of the gaps for me)
    Keep it up man! (I made it to the end 😎)

    Man!!!! You don't know how much I needed this video....I hate being in front of the camera but I have been sacrificing it for the sake of making videos. I'm actually more interested in film making than TH-cam creating but this is giving me the opportunity to practice what I'm learning from all my favorite film makers.

My husband and I are active duty military and we just wanted peace and enjoy the way you film and your setup/explanations. We are just using a GoPro 7 for our filming and are inspired to eventually get to your level of gear someday. Keep up the great work.

    I wanted to start a TH-cam channel since 2014, I only realistically got started in 2019 and it was tough back then, I can't even imagine starting today! It's always possible of course. For me, having my full time job and having this as a passion project/side hustle means I can focus on quality (as I do product reviews) and not focus on the money. Creating good videos will eventually lead to views and people buying stuff and I only want to review things I'm passionate about anyway, I don't want people spending money on junk and creating more garbage. This way I win, my audience wins and I can sustain this long term. My end goal wasn't necessarily to quit my full time job, it's a possibility but only if my TH-cam manages to bring in more than my full time job and then some.
