Come here come here there's more was a well known catch phrase of his back in the day.. It always sounded Northern Irish so if you grew up around that era it's very surprising that you didn't know he was Irish.
He didn't want to show up the contestants.. I honestly think a lot of the contestants never threw a dart in anger before doing so on the show. My grandad would put them all to shame with his darts and he's dead decades.
