I knew Horse the Band WAYYY before they got "popular". Before they were signed and played in tiny garages. One time I wrote them a letter and they mailed me a letter back with a tiny toy shark inside...still have that thing almost 10 years later. SO AWESOME!
That's fucking awesome, I saw them play with the buried on my 16th birthday, the key board player was so drunk... Still a good show.
Yep same here I prided myself on listening to stuff no one knew anything about growing up. Most of those bands ended up being massive years down the road.
Yeah, it is a very cool thing to see a band when it's just seedling. I saw Underoath play on a big pallet in a warehouse. The pallet was like 6 inches tall so it was barely a stage they were just playing right with us. I think that was high school for me so like 15 years ago? I don't know.
But the toy shark...I just couldn't believe they took the time to do that. It just added to how weird/funny they were.
And YES the keyboard player was nuts when I saw him too, same with Underoath actually. Keyboard players need to act a little extra nuts if they don't have parts to play I guess lol.

Yeah my girlfriend in high school organized a house show they played at. I remember during the break downs someone flipped the lights on and off.

Check out the Earth Tour clips Erik's uploaded to his horsetheband1000000 account to see what I'm talking about. Once I can find a way to get it working on this ancient computer I'm going to watch the whole 10+ hours of the Earth Tour footage, then I should be able to better articulate my thoughts on the band.

@KaToren horse the band used the whole nintendocore thing only as a joke. the don't make nintendocore. and only a couple of their songs refer to nintendostuff, pol's voice, house of boo or cutsman (which is sega stuff to be exact) there are a couple of samples too for example in the new album desperate living in the song the failure of all things. but this band is in now serious way about this nintendostuff. it was a joke.

Sad as hell that I'm recievening coments from people who aren't in the music industry trying to tell someone who actually is a part of it what types of genra there are and are not... Nintencore is a REAL genra... Yes HORSE is no longer classified as this genra but when they were first released they were. It's not just one album of theres that they reference all forms of games. It wasn't a joke. And I'm not a dumb ass... Maybe people should stop being ignorant. You may learn something for once.
