it's better to have a lighter foundation than darker- you can even out the lightness with bronzer/light contour

I have the violet bloom shadow & agree it looks very different in the pan! I was disappointed when I applied it to my lids. It was warmer without violet tones.
Yes! I don't know why they did that! It's such a shame because I was so excited when it arrived.

Hi Lexi, I have the Charlotte Tilbury mascara that you featured in this video too. I just loved the colour when it launched. I waited a bit before buying it. I have recently started to wear it and am bummed because it flakes on me and much to my chagrin. I often skip buying upscale mascaras because this happened to me before. I will use up this tube and I hope that maybe with the cooler weather approaching, it won’t flake on me, but the outside temps should have nothing to do with the formulation. You make me want to buy the new Sonia G Bronzer Brush as well. Your comment about it having a certain stiffness appeals to me. If no one else comments, you wear very pretty earrings in your videos. I have admired several pairs that you have worn. You have exquisite taste in your jewelry selections. Have a great day! 😊
Oh no! Mine isn't flaking yet but it is a drier formula so I can see that becoming an issue as it ages. Hopefully you can use it up before it gets too messy. Thank you so much! Earrings were always my way to stand out as a kid - I was very shy but wore very "loud" earrings. Lol.

I would love to hear your thoughts of how the Guerlain foundation compares to the CDP radiant matte, or to any other foundations that are soft matte that you’d think would be a good fit to people with oily skin. Thanks! And I appreciate your very detailed, informative, and honest videos.

As an Ozzie, I couldn't place my order from the Selfridges for quit a while now. I feel sorry for their customer service team that they have to put up extra work load to deal with the technical malfunction. I have to contact them to unblock my account twice. My favorites are lilac mauves, dusty pinks and greens, oh and taupe. I too would be disappointed with CD mauve, definitely more warm and rusty

Hi Lexi! Another fantastic densely packed video! I agree the foundation is too light - perhaps the 0C would be better - or mix your 00C with the 1C to obtain a better match. This foundation is available on the Sephora Canada site - is it not available in the US? I wish Jones Road were more readily available in Canada so I am tepid about the blushes. I am most excited about the Zen brushes and I can hardly wait for your review. I am most curious to find out whether they are significantly better than the FO series (which I love). ❤️
You are so lucky but often Sephora Canada gets some of the items we don't get in the states. The Zen are incredibly nice and I will definitely compare them with the FO brushes. They feel a bit more springy so far but their sizing and shapes are a bit different too.
The Chantecaille would be nice to try, it’s just too pricey for me For Winter I love the Bobby Brown face base. Love for my mature skin Love the quick review of your products. And the try on as well

Thank you for the updates on all these products. I was glad you mentioned the Selfridges issue. I think it may have something to do with the IOS Apple update. I was trying to order DVN 78 Uniform Red in Satin & in the basket it would be nude…Ugh! I finally ordered on laptop. App wish list still is not working. The Guerlain foundation comes in a glow too. I liked the matte on you …a little light
I ordered the glow foundation also but unfortunately in the same shade. I was so surprised how different it is from the 00N. They aren't even close!

@@janewarrick4083 I think I can mix it with some other foundation for long-term use and I will just look a little lighter than usual while I test the formula straight up. Lol.
Hi Lexi. What are your thoughts on the metallic formula of the Guerlain vs Byredo lipsticks. I have some of the Byredo metallics and they are sooooo metallic -- almost too much so. Thanks again for your great videos!
I'm not sure which metallic shades you are referring to from Byredo. Do you mean the shimmering nudes or the color sticks? The shimmering nudes for the most part have shimmer but aren't a true metallic to me except for the one shade. Let me know please (shade names maybe) and I will take a look. Overall though the Guerlain metallics are moderately intense imo. The Hermes is way more subtle if that is what you are looking for though.

Can you compare the coverage of this new Guerlain Parure Gold Skin Matte with the coverage of the Cle de Peau Radiant Fluid Foundation (both the Matte and the Natural) and the Koh Gen Do Aqua? To me, this new Guerlain seems to have a lighter coverage...

Hi Lexi, I just bought the eye, cheek and highlighter brushes directly from Chikuhodo so that is a possibility (at least at the moment) for anyone disappointed by how quickly they disappeared. I didn't even realize these had been released but the FOs I have are among my very favorite brushes so I didn't even really have to think about it. Eagerly anticipating your review although I can only imagine it will make me want more of them!
I didn't even realize that was a possibility! I need to look into that - I'm curious how their pricing differs from places like Visage and FudeBeauty. The brushes are an absolute win for me. I can tell you now I love them so my review will focus more on comparisons and how similar they are to other brushes.
@@LexiJong You got me curious too. Looks like they are slightly more expensive directly from Chikuhodo (which feels wrong, but ok) than FudeBeauty and FB has them for the same price as CDJapan who I have ordered from before and like. But they're sold out there as well. I don't know about Visage as their site is down but I have a vague recollection of ruling them out as a source before. Maybe their shipping to Canada was exorbitant or possibly non-existent? Can't remember now but something was a breaker. I've done the hard math in the past but this time there was only one option so I didn't bother. I'm a pretty discerning and minimal shopper so it's kind of funny to me how hard I jumped on these. At this stage of the game I really only buy what I love and I know I will love these. That eyeshadow brush in particular looks all kinds of perfect to me. Reminiscent of the z series which is quite possibly the eyeshadow brush I would keep if I could only keep one but slightly hardier and still deliciously, ridiculously soft? Yes. Yes, please:)

Originally I was told they were just updating the site but I'm curious if something more has happened since. I think you will totally love this eyeshadow brush! @@LexiJong , listed prices include Japan taxes. They became the same as cdjapan once you put an US address. The site looks very similar to Visage (I wonder if it's the replacement). I bought four of the brushes, great service and very fast shipping (shipping is expensive though).
@Sue Thompson I am so curious to find out what is going on with Visage. It must be getting close to 6 months now since their site went inactive. If they are now Chikuhodo, that would be great to know. I miss their sales!

I feel like the water fresh tint has slightly more coverage than the chantecaille tint but it is hard to tell because of the coloring. The water fresh tint gives me a bit more coverage after it sits on my skin (and oxidizes) a bit but the beige tones cover some of my natural redness. The Chantecaille tint gives more of a fresh faced rosiness but it doesn't really cover anything for me. It just makes you look more like you had a facial.
I love the Guerlain Parure Gold- I dot it on with fingers and stretch it over my skin with a sponge. I have matte and glow versions and they are both incredible x

I have the sonia g bronzer brush. it is excellent. Have you tried the Victoria Beckham bronzer? I have shade 1 for daytime and 2 for night time. I have the gucci bronzer as well, but prefer the VB
Yes I have the VB but I prefer the Gucci. Lol. For me the pinker tones of the Gucci work better.
@@LexiJong Ah that would figure. I have a bit more of a yellowy undertone than yourself and find the gucci a bit warm for me
Hi dear Lexi, your makeup is so beautiful, a red lipstick looks so beautiful on you!!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩That Chantecaille face tint is very soft and very beautiful, i tried it today, and it does not have a crazy shimmer, just so elegant!!!! Great idea, trying it under a concealer, thanks so much!!!!! Love more things you mentioned, love any brush Sonia G. makes, waiting for the bronzer brush, will come tomorrow or begin next week i think. And good, showing us that Dior mono, as it's indeed different than expected!!! Brows, i am so lazy, when tweezing to much, i use a bit Revitbrow, and/or this Dior on set stuff in transparant. Guearlain foundation, it's here of course, but the poor shade range and the fragrance, don't know, still have many foundations. I was wearing the Hourglass again last week, well, i'm gonna mix that new Chantecaille product in, because my skin is more dry after so much airco use because of my asthma and stay inside more because of the smog. But autumn here in The Netherlands, yesss good to breath more normal!!! And the concealer looks good!!! @@LexiJong it's fantastic!!! Their lash serum did not work on my sensitive eyes, this is great, when tweezing to quickly, just not looking good enough, i'm always chaotic Lexi. When i use this product those hairs come back in a few days.

Yes, it's like their rose de mai cream if you have used that. It doesn't bother me personally but it's definitely there.

Which do yo like better? Chantecaille ponk face tint? Or chanel rosy drops?
It's really a hard choice because they are pretty similar but I give the edge to Chanel because I like mixing the rosy light drops with my concealer and I find that the Chanel consistency is a little easier to use in that method.

What is your Chanel shade? Mine is B20. Not sure what Guerlain shade I am.
I am BD01 in the products that have that shade but otherwise I usually go with BR12 which is a little dark for me.
I really want to get the foundation, but it seems these guerlain foundations are not able to be added to cart in Selfridges. I can other products into cart. Do you maybe know why?😢
It was a huge problem for me too! I had to go on the app and add it to my favorites from there then on my computer I went into my favorites and added it to my cart. Maybe that will work for you?

Am i crazy or does the chantecaille rose tint actually mattify (for oily skin/hot weather)? I was expecting it to add des moisture but my dry winter skin did not love it i feel. - was that just my skin condition or the product?
I haven't noticed it becoming more matte but it isn't all that moisturizing imo. For me it is more of a glowy base than providing any additional moisture.

Lexi, I do think the color is a too light for you. You probably could go up to whatever the next Cool shade is! I had already decided to pass. I need more coverage than light!
I guess I will have to make do with what I bought. Perhaps I can mix the Guerlain with some of my Chanel foundations that are too deep. I will have to test that out!
The Guerlain foundation looks great on your skin but I feel the colour is too light ...it definitely gives your skin a brightness but the colour just is not quite right ........maybe if you mixed it with the other Guerlain foundation. it would colour correct it for you ..great review though .

Hi Lexi, I think the Dior eyeshadow looks lovely on you, but looks rusty orange. How they sell it as violet is misleading, especially if seeing it online! Not even close to violet.
