For years I thought I was weird, and alone, for loving Orbison and his voice as I did. I had grown up with him, as a teenager in the late 50s-early 60s, and while others were rocking to Elvis, Jerry Lee, and others, I was a closet Orbison fan and stayed so throughout his "dark period" in the 70s and into the 80s. I saw him at Jonathan Swift's in Harvard Square sometime in the early 80s, then a few years later at Symphony Hall in Boston. It wasn't until Blue Velvet, Mystery Girl, and his comeback that I felt any kind of vindication for sticking with him when few others remembered him. To hear the likes of Springsteen, Bono, Robert Plant, Bernie Taupin, Barry Gibbs, and others sing his praises (if not his songs) was even sweeter. He was, and still is, the greatest voice of his generation. Vocally (not necessaarily stylistically) his only peers were John Denver and Jay Black of Jay and the Americans.
This is for you mom. Every night, when I go to sleep, I hope we will meet in beautiful dreams and talk together like we did in the good years. Miss you

Roy Orbison and this type of song no longer exist anymore. Roy had a voice that could break your heart, even more so when one considers the terrible tragedies that framed his life. Even so, he continued to make exquisite music. He remains a class act that hasn't been matched, thirty-two years after his typically short life.

I buried my father to this song
A long time before he died I knew it’d be it
It’s the most glorious song I’ve ever heard
This is for you mom. Every night, when I go to sleep, I hope we will meet in beautiful dreams and talk together like we did in the good years. Miss you
My favourite song it is for my daughter who is no longer with me but in dreams she is always with me rip kim
My Daddy's favorite song. He passed one year ago today....it fits in so many ways! Hugs, not only do I understand your love for this song, I understand the pain of losing a child.

I’m so sorry. May Gods blessings be with you.
My God. This guy. That voice. I remember when I was a kid my older brother brought this album home and threw it on the stereo, and cranked it. It had just hit the stores. “You gotta hear this guy!” And the rest is history. Amazing. I was completely floored…RIP, Roy (and Bob, my brother).
Hey I’ve got some really great news to share with you, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died on a cross and resurrected on the third day so you may all have eternal life. If you believe and repent of your sins and put your faith and trust in Him as you would a parachute jumping off a plane at 25000 feet up in the air, He will give you eternal life in heaven as a free gift and I promise you, He will change your life forever as He did mine. He is the ONLY way to heaven and He loves you all. Please think deeply about this with urgency because this is your eternal life and soul, you don’t know when you could die, meaning you could die at any moment, so please consider this with all your heart. If anyone tells you that Jesus isn’t the only way, they are lying to you and they don’t care about your future.
Roy Orbison had such a magical voice, RIP my friend 🙏
Божественный голос, !! Забыть Роя Орбисона невозможно!!!
In 1963 I was 16 years old and I thought I was in heaven hearing this song. One hit after the other, Roy always seemed to top himself. This was music in the sixties for those of you not lucky enough to be there. Production, talent, musicianship ..everything...went into making music like that of Mr. Orbison's whose music is for the ages. We will never see his likes again. In Dreams I am still in 1963. If only it were so.
Damn your old-
Not to be offensive
And you are young and have much to learn...Too bad you weren't around in the great days.@@OrbiterVR
@@bethvirginiaphillips4583 I know I wasn’t but I wish I was
Life was pretty fabulous. Hard to explain if you didn't experience it, but I also wish you were there!@@OrbiterVR

That voice..... No one can sing like that. R.I.P Roy
No one can or ever will.
ONE OF THE BEST SONGS EVER. ✨
My Dad loved this tune, I'am dedicating to him, love ya Dad, RIP
The ending the whole buildup of it just gives me a whole minute of goosebumps. Elvis said Roy Orbison had the best singing for a man ever. I agree. That lil ole dude had some pipes on him wow. Took me till my thirties to appreciate him as much as i do now.... innnnn dreammms
01:39 what phenomenal vocal control in that bridge.
Diesen Song hörte ich immer als man noch kreuz und quer über die Kontinente fliegen durfte. Hoffentlich wird es wieder so werden. LG aus AT
This guy made singing sound easy
Bonjour Monsieur Roy... MERCI beaucoup ❤
J ai besoin de votre voix douce et bienveillante...

That soaring falsetto just kills me. What a song
I am a 90 yr old widow, but so close to my beloved as I listen to this beautiful, magic voice.
You have to admire the talent of roy orbison he made great records with great lyrics rip to one of thegreats❤
The first concert I ever attended was a rock n roll revival show in 1972. Roy Orbison was just one of so many talented performers that night. Loved every act that night and appreciate their talents more every passing year.
Tears to the eyes..not just a song but 1 to remember your loved ones..may you be eternally at peace Dad. 💚
My Daddy's favorite song! Rest in peace.
I hear you my friend. I chose three songs to play at my own father's service, this was one of them.
C' est la Fête de la Musique, Monsieur Roy, vous êtes à l' honneur deux fois plus encore!

A legend, in his own time. Our great classic singer. I wish, we could see, him sing now. Go back time machine....🎉
He had the best voice. Roy=Hero. RIP
this song always brings tears to my eyes. its so beautiful. and his voice....ooohhhh his voice! and the tragedy of his life losing his family. OMG. a great man.
I still don't understand what this song have to do with Blue Velvet the movie. Can you enlighten me? I like the song, it was surprising to me to hear it in this movie.
Now THIS is a singer! Amazing tenor
Roy Orbison and this type of song no longer exist anymore.
Roy had a voice that could break your heart, even more so when one considers the terrible tragedies that framed his life. Even so, he continued to make exquisite
music. He remains a class act that hasn't been matched, thirty-two years after his typically short life.
The song is so powerful, it’s exactly what I want to say to my loved ones who have passed! 💔
One of the greatest songs of all time by one of the greatest singers. Thank you Roy Orbison. You’ll be forever remembered.
Love this man! Has the best singing voice of all time! How he wasn’t bigger than Elvis Presley is beyond me!
I am 77. Heard Roy’s voice on the radio, in the early sixties, as a young whipper snapper. Loved the music of those days. Can remember where I was when I hear some songs, and it has marked the calendar of my life ever since. God bless. Thanks for sharing.
“FRANK STOP IT FRANK”

Came from Wednesday and I just can't get enough of this masterpiece. I love it, it's so magical!
Dude when I watched that show and this song came on I FREAKED OUT! It defo was a good choice on the producers parts
This song is even more sad and more beautiful after you find out that this legendary singer lost his Wife in a motorcycle accident and he lost two of his Sons in a house fire while he was touring overseas. Roy's good friends, Elvis and Johnny Cash, kept in touch with Roy and checked in on him often after Roy lost his Sons. Johnny Cash even had the building Roy's Sons died in tore down and he had a beautiful orchard put in it's place to honor Roy and his Sons. Rest in peace, Roy Orbison..you are greatly missed. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
