    Just pulled the trigger on an Apple Watch SE as I realized that a lot of the features of a dedicated watch I was never using. Being able to use it as a smart watch was my reason for switching over. Thanks for covering this watch and giving your hits and misses!

      Nice, you got a great watch! Good luck training with it and if you eventually decide to pair it with a stryd pod you’ll have rock solid data! 👏

    The Vantage V2 sign in the background is a nice touch. Also, did you script this?! Well spoken and concise (has a very Gerald Undone vibe)! Did you see any "Spikes" in your HR data? Excellent video Ryan!

      Thanks! We gotta learn from the best! And for me the HR data has been great, closest to my H10 with no spikes to speak of

    Thanks, I would like to comment :-) You just did an amazing review. Very nicely pointed out things for us. I just purchased the Vantage v2 but not because of the your review. I just wanted to start with the new ecosystem. I have been using the garmin device so many years and they just don't develop the ecosystem at all. I still use garmin as bike computer but now I have another device for collecting data to Polar ecosystem. How cool is that :-) I would say it's stupid but I can use map in garmin or having huge data layout. In the polar I just use one or two split display. I don't care about sleep metrics because I have the Oura ring. Finally I can set all my activity data to go from Polar to Oura cloud which was not working with garmin. Why they just don't do the best device in Polar, they should watch your video very carefully and learn something because you definitely pointed out all the missing features.

    Also good for those of us who were wanting to get the original Vantage V and can now find deals as there aren't too many differences. I'm seeing less than $400 with a heart rate strap right now.

    • @RyanClaytonFilms

      Yeah, can get some really good deals now!

    Great review Ryan. After reading your comment from the last video I think I’ve decided on an AWS6 with a Stryd foot pod because I like the fact that I can listen to music/audiobooks and get notifications without the need of my phone and the no lag characteristics of a power meter.

    Reasonable review, the business about more info is too personal. That’s certainly not a reason for a negative…

    Great video. Thinking what to do with my Vantage V, it’s 5 years old and still going strong apart from GPS. Have you reviewed Vantage V3?

    Great video! I race with Coros Vertix, but I train with Polar Vantage V. Dying to get my hands on the V2 but like you said, it makes little sense for current V owners...unless on sale, or wait for the next BIG thing from Polar...fingers crossed

    Thanks for the nice review which was straight to the point! What’s the display like in various light conditions as this has been a problem with previous watches? 🤔

    Thanks for this great video. I would like to ask a quick question. I have an arrhythmia and have been on beta blockers for twenty years. According to the advice of my cardiologist, I practice running regularly, it helped me a lot and I was able to reduce my medication always according to my doctor's advice. For a complete follow-up of the shape and the heart, you recommend which watch? A Vantage V2 or a 745 for example? Hello from Germany ^^

    Is there only one display with 4 values or can you switch between 2 or 3 display you allready configurated?

    Polar flow is awsome, garmin connect it’s a joke. If you are a serious trainer, get a random Polar watch and get in to polar flow, that’s it.

    Regarding Notification & Navigation, these options remind me of when the Suunto 9 came out. Thankfully Suunto have both well tuned after a few years and several firmware updates. I like how this is light, but I think I might go for the new Apple Watch for a daily... WATCH :)

    • @RyanClaytonFilms
      @RyanClaytonFilms  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep Suunto has improved since the 9 came out, really excited for their next model. Hopefully we see it soon but I’m guessing not till spring. And Apple Watch is great for the daily watch option, way better than any of the current gps watch options for daily.

    05:20 That's why I didn't like the Vantage V. So... I will not like the V2... I'm used to train with my SUUNTO Ambit2, who allows you to configurate many displays with 4 simultaneous datas on each. Depending to my training session, I can chose my display with focus on avg/ or current values, on pace, foot frequence, intervall duration, or distance, for example... The SUUNTO has a very open configuration. I need it from POLAR too.

    • @victorengel5096
      @victorengel5096 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is my understanding that the Polar V2 does offer multiple 4-field displays simultaniously during sport session as well, just not more than 4 data fields at a time ...or am I mistaken?

    Hello...Vantage V and V2 buttons looks crooked 2:02 left button. I had seen it in several videos on both models but hardly anybody mentions this. Does not look good at all.

    • @RyanClaytonFilms
      @RyanClaytonFilms  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah there is a bit of play with the buttons, but this is a beta testing model so final production model might be better. Doesn’t seem to affect anything with the use. Good catch!

    • @subliminallyinc
      @subliminallyinc 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes the metal buttons "float" over the rubber membrane that provides a barrier over the electronic switch. Even if they are crooked who the hell is looking at their buttons when wearing their watch?
