Eric Maldonado-Avendano it wasn’t really a fast race. Not to say that it was slow because I would have gotten absolutely destroyed, but it was kind of a sit and kick race
@@moist8470 Try running a low 27 second 200 at the end of a mile race. It's not easy bro. I'm assuming you are a sprinter so that's probarly slow to you but fast for us middle distance runners.
@@moist8470 a 26 second 200m after running 1200 meters in 3:31 is pretty good if you ask me. I mean closing that fast is usually a sign of a world class middle distance runner

but then you remember when the commentators said everyone qualified with sub-4 mins..... I don't even know anymore everyone is getting too good in sport. Guys come last with 4:01 and obviously since he qualified in faster that is not even the best of the LAST place.
It's not like they were just talking about them to talk about them. They moved to the front and overtook the favorite.. commentators have to talk about something so why not the fact that somebody got passed. I don't think it had anything to do with their school
Well, one commentator said that in last year's race, John let Cheserek take all the heat up front. What! Cheserek was at the back of the field for the first 2 min 30 secs plus. Then, he moved in to the lead for all of 25 secs where upon Josh took the lead for the rest of the race.
Kung Fury no, 220 yards. If it was 200 meters then that would only be a 1600 which is about 9 meters short of a mile. They even said that in the video.
He didnt care for his teammates. He only cared about individual fame. I get it, but, this shows why track will never be close to being a real team sport
He was 40m back against other extremely elite milers. It makes more sense points-wise to secure points in the DMR but only run fast enough so that you have enough energy to win the mile mile the next day and get 10 points. He wasn't going to win the DMR so he made sure he could still get the 10 points for his team.
@@nickhunziker9731 even so, securing 10 points the next day is better than getting a point or two and then being too tired to win and maybe settling for like top 5
The way that man stopped right after the finish and stared right into the camera was badass to say the least
Rhys Nichols yea was pretty cringe.
Rhys Nichols true lol
We are LOBOS!!!
nah that was the cringest shit
Alec Danner would have been more badass if he helped his team win a dmr title
Reed brown got last and he ran a 4:01.94🤯
Crazy right!
He is sub four miler in high school.

Great Race. I ran a 4:11.6 indoor mile back in 1972 in college and I wasn't even ranked in the U.S. at that time.
Now people at 3:56 won't go to NCAAs and we have 75 under 4!!! Not even championship season yet for real!
Dude finished like a boss.
It's gonna be fun in the future watching him race the best in the world, who will keep the first half of the race faster.
this aged well :) bronze medalist !
Surely, he was saving energy in the relay. I bit dodgy...but understandable

did someone mention Scottish ancestry?
