We’re catching up on K-pop releases from the last week and we are so excited to finally get to check out these three groups! First up is BTOB in ‘Outsider’ and we are loving the jazz vibes and message of the song. Then we checked out MCND (Anna’s bbys!) in ‘Movin’ and they are always so fun to watch, before we wrapped it up with A.C.E in ‘Changer,’ which had us in all of our feels. Three very different songs, but we are loving them all!

BTOB has always been an outsider from day 1. They never followed the norm and this is what made them specially unique from other kpop groups. Thank you so much for this reaction. Love it!
Even in Kingdom. They are the outsider right off the bat with a ballad song in the intro stage.

I will really miss Wow and Donghun. Donghun being my bias and King Wow as my bias wrecker. Its kinda sad. I hope they will be healthy and comeback safely. Hugs to us all choices

Sigh, Wow is enlisting the day before my birthday. I honestly wasn't keeping up with things so I had watched the MV first without knowing and felt so happy, but once I read the news and watched the video I kind of cried...a bit lol. I know it flies by! Jinho is back in 2 months!! But man...I'm so grateful I went to their two online concerts. Can't wait to see them in concert live one day. I seriously love this song and video though for Changer!

time really does fly! it's always surprising to us how quickly it goes by, even with all of the different enlistments we've been through (so excited for Jinho's return!!)

I'm a fan of BTOB and MCND and I enjoyed their songs but this post is dedicated to my bois A.C.E.
I absolutely adore Changer. It's such a great sentimental, bittersweet song and so, so catchy. It definitely made me feel all the feels but I appreciate they managed to keep it an overall happy, celebratory vibe. Pentagon got me used to being absolutely ruined with the sendoffs and I haven't forgiven them for it.
It is unfortunate that groups that debut later in their careers always seem disadvantaged because they have to send members away right as they're gaining momentum and they still have so much more to offer. It's particularly unfortunate in cases with such an even spread of ages like A.C.E. where they may not be able to perform as a 5 member unit again until Chan has finished his enlistment. I hope the remaining members still consistently put out good content for us.

You were SO RIGHT - we were both so emotional about the song. On the one hand, it's like a perfect release but the connotations >< ugh so sad ><
We're really going to miss them and hopefully the other members will get to be active while waiting for their return!

Thanks for the reactions to all three of these great groups. I, for one, will need a little hand-holding during the A.C.E enlistments. It's my first time for a group that I'm really invested in (not just a casual listener). I worry because the group is so small and all the plans they were working on are now up in the air. Will Choice EVER get She Is So Perfect and Hell? 😰 They're all so talented and capable, and Beat works very hard, so I guess it's just the uncertainty of what the future will look like. Unit promotions? Solo albums? Strictly MCing, acting, OSTs? See what I mean? Hand-holding needed. 😅
enlistments are always sad, but we'll be here for the hand-holding! it is helpful to have the fandom support
wishing them safe enlistments and ofc, we'll all be here supporting the group in whatever they do during that time and waiting for their safe return!

The vibes of outsider are just immaculate. I also thought the whole concept of wanting to be an outsider was an interesting take - kinda reminded me of what itzy did with wannabe. The jazz style fits so well and the whole styling and mv just soo good. I thought in the rooftop dance scene eunkwangs outfit really screamed im a director at cube lol.
Stop i love a.c.e so fucking much, like so so so much but im you guys know that lol. I actually think this is my favourite title track from them. As you guys mentioned it is everythinggg. Such a seamless interaction between their personalities/how they interact with fans but also with the drop staying true to a.c.e sound. Donghuns high note in song is hands down my favourite hight note/adlib in kpop ever lol. I dunno theres just something about it, its so clear yet grounding at the same time. The whole vibe of the song is kinda like that too, its like warm and fuzzy with a tinge of sadness cause of enlistment but at the same time so grounding and comforting. Like i can meditate to this song lol, it just whizzes me into this universe and for some reason this universe is inside a cloud in my head but yahhhh.
I finally caught up on your catch up! I’m going to assume you saw the M Countdown “Changer” stage yesterday - I was so happy to see they got to perform together for the last time in a while (but not forever I hope!). I’m less bummed about enlistments than some folks - I guess I knew that was part of the deal going in - but I am greedy and want more A.C.E! It’s weird to think my favorite US artists regularly go years between releases - kpop has me so spoiled.

Yay, I enjoyed all three of these! I’m also super crunched these days so I’m going to try watching and responding to each MV separately. So yes, I also loved BTOB doing the jazzy thing again. I don’t follow theories anywhere, but aside from it just looking cool, I saw Peniel’s parts as a James Bond reference, and that’s another hero I think of as being a loner/outsider type. Sometimes in a sad way, sometimes in a dick way, but even though he usually has backup, he ultimately doesn’t rely on anyone but himself. I’ve been watching a lot of music shows recently and I love having this and “Door” doing something different from what other groups are doing. Okay, back to work, with MCND as my post-conference calls treat later today!

well, Kang Yuchan definitely always gets what he wants, sooner or later! lol
it's not like my first enlistment in k-pop, cuz Infinite are almost fully done with their service, but it's still more bittersweet and sad than it was before. mostly because with Wow's and Donghun's enlistment, all 3 groups that I stan and follow closely will be having at least one member in the military. And if the other 2 groups had their firm foot on k-pop industry's ground, in case of ACE they are still struggling with gaining popularity to stay afloat and taking 2 years (at least) break would definitely not help them. So there lays my 아쉬움s regarding their enlistment. I will miss them dearly ㅠㅠ
But! They'll be serving as public workers and already made their Insta acc's, so I'm expecting content and live streams from them as Woohyun did from time to time!

MCND are So. Cute - I definitely smiled through my first watch of the video. I like the pre-chorus too - there is some kind of droning instrumental that sounds a little middle eastern maybe? The vocals seem a little more prominent than their prior titles, which I wonder might be why the dance is slightly less intense? When I was a teenager I would have had such a crush on whichever of Huiminjaejun grew his hair out - he’s giving me a bit of Vincent Kartheiser in Masterminds vibe, who was totally my pretend boyfriend back in the day. Don’t tell me which one it is though - too many listens to “Top Gang” meant I figured out the rappers’ names early on, so now I’m stubbornly resisting figuring out which vocalist is which, because if I know their names that means I’m attached, and as the sad news about GHOST9 (from which I was partially insulated by having refused to learn names) recently confirmed, my poor heart can take only so much of that. Speaking of attached, I’ll have to save the A.C.E reaction for later - maybe when I can have a glass of wine or two to help get myself through it.

As a Hottest/Shawol/Inspirit/Melody, I agree that enlistment goes by quicker than you think, especially when the other members remain active through acting, promoting solo/unit or appearing on variety shows. Personally enlistment feels too soon for Wow and Donghun because A.C.E haven't had their first win, even though I know that isn't the be all and end all. I hope both of you have had a chance to listen to Dear: Eris, especially Wow's vocals on 'Remember Us'. So many feels. And from Peyton's reaction to the choreo at 18:29, I recommend watching the Suit Dance version of 'Changer' for the choreo and OT5 visuals. Kang Yuchan's facials are no joke in that performance.
I loved 'Outsider' and your reactions. I also had the same thought about Minhyuk's appearance at. 3:04. The man is just too beautiful. It's exciting to think that Hyunsik and Sungjae will be discharged from the military soon. BTOB 4U are incredible but I am looking forward to the day we can hear 6-member harmonies and watch 6-member chaos. Is it too soon to hope for a sentimental ballad from Hyunsik?
I can't forget Anna's babies MCND. I loved 'Crush' but don't stan them (yet) because I have too many groups I follow and because they are so young. But I do listen to their songs. I'll see how long my multistan heart can hold out...

Have you guys seen Jeong Woon MoonDance or Ha Sung Woon Forbidden island???
(They are worth it also would recommend Kim Woojin becaus his vocals are legendary and his dancing is cool too though he is a bit controversial so maybe not, would really like it if you did though)
