thank you very much for this interesting and educative video especially on my side but my concern is about the guys compressing the silage i think its not healthy for them to compress while wearing gumboots or usual shoes.
Molasses is not needed. In principle, silage making involves anaerobic fermentation. Every living thing has sugar which is the 'basic ingredient' for fermentation. Maize stalks are sugary already, why add more sugar and water? We just chop and compact. 1 month later, we are good.
Good Knowledge. Seeking assistance on the following: 1. where to buy the bags and price per bag. 2.contact of the guys making the silage that is their mobile numbers and email address
Well explined Leah.My namebis Patrick. I live in Gilgil,Nakuru county. Naomba phone contact ya driver wa lorry mwenye kuleta mabebe na hoa guys who prepare silage.
Hi. Unaeza onyesha pahali umezistore hizo bags na vile unalisha ngombe. Yaani vile unafungua unalisha na kufunga ndo isiharibike ukiendelea kulisha? Thanks
The bags cost differently in different places. We bought ours for 600bob a piece. You can use them more than once especially if you do not get rats to destroy them.😁
So to be certain: from the video it appears the silage bags were left on the compound. Is that correct? Just want to know how to store them. Thank you.
You agree according to the total number of bags they will make. You tell them or they see the quantity of the items you want to put in your silage. Then you agree. I could share their number if interested.
Well coordinated my dear

Yes,we have fenced a certain area in the farm where we store them. Away from damage. We also pour 'magadi' to prevent rodents
