Why did you so aggressively and deliberately abandon the vast majority of the story that Robert Jordan wrote? I've heard explanations about how there wasn't time to do everything in the books (which absolutely no one expected anyway), but 90% of what made it on screen we never even saw happen in the books. Limited episodes can't possibly explain why so much new was added. Why did you reduce the male characters to afterthoughts while expanding the female roles even when it made absolutely no sense to do so - for instance, taking the pivotal battle in Fal Dara away from Rand and giving it to a small handful of untrained or unknown female characters? Why did you choose to sacrifice the opportunity to see our protagonists encounter new races and experience rich cultures just to inexplicably have the remote backwater village of Emond's Field look like a U.N. meeting? Why did you choose to have Warders, the toughest and most disciplined warriors in the world reduced to weeping, cuddling together by the fire and complaining that their bathwater isn't hot enough? Why does the costuming look like something on the CW? Why did you feel it necessary to go against canon and lore to give Perrin a wife JUST to immediately fridge her? Why have you so dramatically changed how the One Power works? Is it because Jordan based the very foundation of the entire series on the long-held concept of binary gender and modern Hollywood can't tolerate that? Why choose to adapt something that you feel must be so fundamentally changed as to be unrecognizable instead of simply telling an original story more in line with your personal political and social views? Why purchase an IP so that you get access to its established fanbase, only to attack and alienate that very same fanbase at every turn? Why didn't you use some or even any of Brandon Sanderson's extensive notes during production? I have more, but I'd be perfectly happy if I could just get answers to these...

      Truth bomb:
      Answer: the books suck.

@@ComradeYinkai So why spend all that money to purchase the rights to adapt them? Why not adapt something that doesn't 'suck' - or better yet, tell an original story for a change?

      1. Capitalists are dumb.
      2. Does anything not suck?
      3. There is no such thing as an original story.

@@Ellis_HughI guess he tried to do it on his own way, and he nailed it btw, I haven’t read the books yet but if the serie is “bad” and nothing like the books, you can always get back to the books
