android OEMs copy apple shamelessly, the only reason oppo added that button is because apple did it, this is simply pointing out the obvious, the fangirls online need to call out shameless copycat behavior, when apple copies android it should be pointed out too
What other perspectives that aren't similar to already experienced android users? Androids are the same, only difference is UI and features but for iPhone users who are interested it makes sense, beside budget android users the second biggest user market are iPhone users.
@Hhhh22222-w Why in the hell does one feel the need to compare apples and oranges? Other than perhaps similar appearance and basic function (they are both phones), they're totally different. Hardware (memory, cameras, SoC, modem, etc... are all structured differently) and software is dissimilar too. So comparing an android to an iPhone doesn't make for an objective review, but rather expresses the reviewers personal preference. Kind of like saying foldables and candy bar phones should be compared in the same category, when their form factors are obviously different.
For me the camera button is godsent: On older Oppo phones you needed to search for the icon and tap on the screen (takes time, doesn't work with gloves) or double-press on the volume button (which only works when the screen is off and no music plays in the background). With this new button I can start the camera simple, quick and consistent, regardless of gloves or not. Also, the Alert-slider is great to have. In my opinion, the Find X8 Pro currently is the perfect smartphone.
They’re always spreading fake news when it’s not Samsung or Apple. Oppo is seriously killing the game, these reviewers just don’t want to make the Fan-Ppl mad 😂
I’m in Australia and it just came out here. 512g model and it’s $700 cheaper than the iPhone 16 Pro Max 512 and Samsung S24 Ultra. I might get one as a second phone.
Looks like this dude's an apple fanboy cos I reckon the button on the Oppo is way simpler and easier to use compared to the gimmick that it is on the iPhone...
Apple did not invent the camera shutter/buttons on smartphone, Sony has been doing it for years and years, even back when it was still Sony-Ericsson. Apple did enhance the functionality of it, but if I’m reading correctly, not many people are in love with it. I think Oppo took the safer route here, just limiting the function to camera shutter and zoom control, and that should be enough.
It's a good feature, a dynamic island is available too, in the Chinese version they also have a similar ai user interface as Siri, also Sony had it before, so is Sony and Huawei had these features before, so are they also bad? 😂
Hello, thank you so much for the video, very interesting! I own the Oppo Find X8 Pro, and I've noticed a very pronounced starburst effect in background light sources when there’s a subject in focus in the foreground. It’s extremely sharp and unnatural, almost like one of those fake bokeh effects in the shape of stars or hearts that can be added with some software. Do you think this is because it's a periscope lens? With the 3X lens on my Xiaomi 14, the rendering of the lights is much more beautiful and natural. Thanks a lot!
I really didn't like this Paul Jones guy. His review is lacking so much information and is very rushed. I miss the days where phone reviewers were genuinely interested in the phone they were reviewing
That's just silly. Developing a smartphone takes multiple months, so they simply overlapped. Oppo most likely couldn't know that Apple would implement a similar feature in iPhone 16, which was released just 2 months ago. Do you really think they developed the phone without the camera shutter button, saw Apple's implementation on iPhone 16 and then were like :"Hey, let's put that on our phones as well"? 2 months is not enough time to implement such a feature
Why? The one advantage Samsung has is Dex and perhaps GoodLock. But apart from that, the Oppo Find X8 Pro is better in every regard. And btw, I'm typing this on an S22 Ultra

@@AndroidAuthority ordered it tonight! 👌🏻
Really tired of reviews that look at things, good or bad, through an iPhone perspective.

Also the wobbling issue. And pixel phones are only referenced as iPhone of Android. No identity at all

That button had been used by Realme even before apple copies it
Well, oppo released the cameral button earlier than iphone, how come it influenced from iphone?
Sony Xperia was the first brand with the camera button (:
@@Armando.Krijnenwhat year are you guys born? Shutter camera was already there even during old nokia days. Forget xperia.

Crazy because the channel is called Android authority. This channel has been dead for a long time.

What about performance?
We've got a deep dive into that right here: andauth.co/Dimensity9400Tests
Oppo took the worst feature of Appple's camera control and put it on their flagships. Do they know that those placements are bad?
Please elaborate the best placement for the camera button on a smartphone.
This oppo smash the iPhone to the trush bin.
Ain't no way oppo copied apple worst feature and put it on their new phone what is this nonsense

Chinese companies, copying something most people dont like, can we be a little bit innovative.
Except they actually came up with that camera control gimmick before Apple 😂
3:29 Shopee is one of the largest e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia. ✌🏼

hey… the way your head doesn’t move when you speak… makes it feel like i am looking at an AI generated video. 😊
Is the camera better than S24 Ultra and Pixel 9 Pro XL?
obviously xD galaxy and pixel cameras suck ;p anything is better.
Yes, I've seen a few other TH-camrs doing camera comparisons on them.
@DayVB007 ordered the black one tonight 👌🏻
@@Lynn-zw7dr I've ordered the white one, does that make me racist? 😂.
Says the guy who never owned the phones and can't afford them.@@MegaLol2xd
Awesome good job
1+ should do this before as 1st Android
@3:28 "what even is Shopee?" LOL
I just hate comparison reviews......skip it.....
I didn’t know android authority doesnt fact check. And it’s supposed to be android authority. Not apple authority
Is this channel really for Android phone's? for me i don't think so
Grabe ka sa Shoppe, d'yan ako naorder :(
Change the name Oppo into any fashionable name😂then we will definitely buy this💯
Who's we? 😂 This is basically the OnePlus 13 so when that drops, I might end up buying one.
U Just need to call it OPhone x8 pro & then enjoy your phone😅

What a terrible review ... Just whinging the whole way through 😭😭😭🥵🥵🥵
This guy is clueless, comparing it to Iphone ... no every android phone wants to be an Iphone.
this one IS... it's called Ophone.

I would rather buy 3 year old Samsung galaxy S22. That's it...
Your loss
