Man the Doc Jukebox was just a different animal. So much Energy and passion. That man gave us so much swagger bc he had it each and every day and it was contagious!!!!!!
Definitely harder to find these days. You can definitely tell Doc had a heavy influence on the Jukebox as many great directors of the past left their marks on their marching band. But no one could do it like the late great Dr. Greggs.
I wish I could have met Dr.Greggs before he passed. My siblings all went to S.U. and they never mentioned him. Perhaps he wasn't directing in the 60's and early 70's.
They drilled a friggin hole in that field. This is what i want to see more of from the Jukebox. They've gotten away from the awesome drills they use to do. Let's bring them back.
They need to go back tuning their drums like this both bands. I heard every section of the percussion section while the horns were playing. That makes a difference
One thing that I love about Southern is that you can watch a halftime show from any Jukebox era and it’s still going to be the same good ol consistent and entertaining Human Jukebox with high energy.
Good show s.u. was much more exciting in the 70's 80's and 90:s I'm usually bored with field shows these days. They seem to focus more on stand battles these days.
One Of THE BEST field shows.....Keala was cutting through that Bih as THE ONLY Piccolo

Greatest halftime show ever. Drum Major, Drills, Sound, Dance Routine, Crowd, Dolls, etc. To top it off, this is on VHS!!!!
dlaveen1978 yeah it's too bad that the directors do not put a whole lot into the field shows these days.
Rodney Player Exactly. I can’t find this energy anywhere anymore, particularly in the dance routines.
This energy was natural it was in the music it was in the people… now days the music is lazy and depressing
Lol good ol VHS
Bruh! Best performance EVER!!!
Another SU Girl Definitely one of my favorite all-time HBCU dance routines! That performance got so much House!
He has been the announcer for this long lol & that ending was too funny!!! 😂😂😂😂😂

Dr. Isaac Greggs drilling a hole in the field performances.
Dude............they're putting more than 200+ on the FIELD, outside of the normal 128............let them figure this out and then do them!!! SU#1
I generally don't care for the last part of field shows anymore but this was nice from start to finish. Bad azz D. M.too
When I first heard Prairie View play "I Can't Let Go", Earth Wind & Fire, I thought they owned it. But Southern though....you do the song justice.
This makes me proud AF to be black!
