  • Over the last 30 years the mountain team at Thredbo have been improving and expanding the art of snowmaking. We wouldn’t be the resort we are today without this incredible infrastructure. Snow-making is the lifeblood of Thredbo, it allows us to cover the mountain with a greater percentage of man made snow than any other resort in the country. Mountain Manager, Werner Siegenthaler talks us through it.

      🔴 What Is Islam? ⚠️
      🔴 Islam is not just another religion.
      🔵 It is the same message preached by Moses, Jesus and Abraham.
      🔴 Islam literally means ‘submission to God’ and it teaches us to have a direct relationship with God.
      🔵 It reminds us that since God created us, no one should be worshipped except God alone.
      🔴 It also teaches that God is nothing like a human being or like anything that we can imagine.
      🌍 The concept of God is summarized in the Quran as:
      📖 { “Say, He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He does not give birth, nor was He born, and there is nothing like Him.”} (Quran 112:1-4)[4] 📚
      🔴 Becoming a Muslim is not turning your back to Jesus.
      🔵 Rather it’s going back to the original teachings of Jesus and obeying him.

    This may be a dumb question.but its a genuine question.. would this possibly help in the poles?? Creating more snow for the polar bears?? Just wondering. I know its temporary, and I know its a huge area but it's the 1 place that could probably benefit the most from weather change without damaging the eco system...

      No, snow is different than ice. And even if it wasn't, the amount of power and machinery we'd use would undo the benifets.

    I was on the first professional snowmaking team in Australia in 1987 at Thredbo hired after teaching Werner, & the Ians in Snowshoe, West Virginia, USA - We created consistent top to bottom skiing for almost the entire season for the first time ever - A fantastic experience

    This could help slow down the loss of glaciers and permafrost...

      The weather still plays a major factor. It has to be pretty chill in order for the snow to not only stay but from. Jus not as cold as it normally had to be.

    • @alexcamilleri3997
      @alexcamilleri3997 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The loss of glaciers and permafrost is due to increasing temperatures. Snow cannons can only make snow if there are freezing temperatures. Not to mention the energy/emissions used in the process making some contribution to the increasing temperatures.

    • @danielschmidt2186
      @danielschmidt2186 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alexcamilleri3997 yeah, but increasing the snowpack over permafrost where it would otherwise thaw and expose the ground to heat up faster would make a difference. If you can increase the amount of snowpack greater than the relative melt each year, then you will have a net gain rather than a net loss. I think a global electric grid is very likely so powering large flexible loads at major substation points along the Arctic circle could help balance the grid and also use excess power during peak production times
