Hi, I applied directly on my member's website. I think that it helps when you are a constituent of the district. Also, different caucuses have programs. For example, Congressional Black Caucus has internships/fellowships. Also, you could be an intern for a committee as well. It is a separate process but will expand your reach and your chances. I hope this helps. Lastly, reach out to folks who are in positions you want and start networking. In D.C., everybody knows each other (to an extent) and people have been able to get jobs while having convos with people in person. Anything is possible. I hope this helps :)
