Hi everyone! The only thing i didn’t cover very well was the cars! They serve as a fantastic way into guests for my automotive podcast, presenting, networking events for my other businesses and more. They aren’t just toys as much as you would think! 😅
Don't you think it's time to save some money and invest it for the future
id love to be part of the project
as I've already said, it's all about priorities. Remember the old saying 'Jack of all trades...master of none'. Spreading yourself too thin across these various ventures with none of them pulling in real 'serious' money while hanging on to depreciating money draining assets doesn't seem a smart move at first glance to me. I'm sure you have it all under control though.
All honesty mate
Sell the cars and invest in something you can get a return on (the lakes)
Ones you secure the lakes try and hold international events on the lake.
I will bring the New Zealand team
I fish all over the world - Fished the World Carp Classic and this year we fish Stairs2Hell
Loads of options for you
@@xix94 isn't that a contradiction?
do you think he should save money or invest it?...it looks to me like hes doing a good job of being entrepreneurial by investing...very speculative, but its better then saving. Saving is the worst tihng you can do.
Business is business and it simply doesn’t stack up, you also cannot let your heart rule. You made the right decision especially with another project to get off the ground 👌🏽
Throughout this whole series, no matter what came your way Ben you always took it head on with a smile and a laugh. Even if you didn’t feel like it inside. Your dad would be proud of your willingness and determination to whatever you put your mind to and I’m sure he had the same and is why he was fortunate enough to leave you with his legacy and comfort to enjoy your life.
You are young enough to develop your own lake and see it mature and the fish grow, would be alot more satisfying and financially rewarding for you i reckon. Clever lad, knows when to walk. ultimate respect to you. Have you ever tried fishing for the cats, is growing massively in popularity and your snag city lake would be perfect when sorted as it has no watercourses,
I think Tilapia are better.
But cats don't need oxygen.
We have both
@@MarketingStrategies28 Tilapia must be a u's thing maybe. we have wells catfish in uk , it is the fastest growing sector in sport fishing in the uk. you just need giant versions of all the normal kit. lol
Nice Ben, Its great to watch you build your world. I don't even fish. But is great to watch it. Love watching people become successful.
Hi Ben dukes lake just of the a40 near oxford has also been listed
Thank you for sharing this mate, i like the way you go in to pricing and figures, most dont cover this on their business ventures (understandably)
Another great video mate, love how transparent you are with everything 👍
Interesting, informative and honest as usual!! Great watch!
I hope people won't interpret this post as " someone with money showing off". But realise what a ball ache and hard work whatever business persuaded takes guts.
I find it hard to watch. I own my own lake yet I don’t feel then need to publish my wealth in every video I do. It’s a bit of a turn off
All dreams and hopes brilliant content 👍👍👍
Nice to see you go through that Ben - Interesting stuff 👌🏻🍺🏴
In hospital after surgery and seen you have uploaded. Made my day
wish these were longer, really enjoy your vids
Really enjoyable and interesting video Ben.
Your living my dream an I available to bailiff or anything else your may need , good luck to ya
You got the money to do it mate . Go do it mate . And really good for u mate . Keep up with what your doing
love the vids bud I'm form Scotland and I have got the same dream as you
It would be good to see you local! I live very close!
Great Honest Video 👍👍
All about priorities then.... sell off some of the luxury assets you have accumulated and make the deal easier to complete.. you're young, plenty of time to get another car.... all depends on how bad you want to grow the fishing business I guess.
Not just that, it’s also absolutely terrible terms of purchase and nothing but risk on his part.. neither the land, use or fish stock is garunteed for anything more than 18 months, only an idiot would buy them
@@e46.H Yeah, now you put it like that.... Walk away then..and go for a drive in the 'Rari or Lambo 🤣
Hi mate try checking out catch 22 in Norfolk, it closed last year its a brilliant venue with huge potential a 22acre lake and a 7acre they is a few out buildings a shop and cafe and toilets showers, everything is there and on the 22acre they is a island in the middle witch 2 angler's can fish from very unique,,they is 31pegs in total very spacious the surroundings are amazing rolling hills and in the middle of the country, well worth investigating
I wish you can make longer videos and more often
Honestly Ben, the satisfaction you'll get from effectively creating your own lake will make all the effort worthwhile.
Can't wait to see the progress as you move forward 👌😁
Hunts and oxlease are my favourite lakes at linear only thing that would put me off is the flooding and public footpath between them
You need to think outside the box , one lake and some land for a polytunnel can produce lots of koi and lots of revenue, it's my dream
Don't you think it's about time you started saving the money instead of blowing it all in one go
Money like you have only comes once
Planning permission the bane of business in the uk.
The cut-away to Ian Beale🤣🤣🤣🤣priceless
Buy a lake in France, much cheaper
Hey Ben
hallo from Austria🙋🏼♂️🇦🇹
Might be time to cast off a supercar sale and reel in your next big business venture!
You missed out on Hintle vally fisheries mate up for 510k 3 lakes amazing stock all equipment and fish Included
Man’s on a mission to own all the lakes in south England 😂 jokes aside it’s been very interesting following your journey and iv definitely learnt a lot along the way
there will be other opportunities for sure... no rush.
Wicked video, I find these so interesting! …. Smithy
I was like an excited kid when I spotted it was Linear lol . Let's hope it isn't bought by a developer and Linear turns into a building site that would be criminal
Ben could you explain how the Church of England own freeholds? That’s something I’ve never heard before and would like to know more if possible. Thank-you.
You have built one - go for another & make it your own, make the snaggy tree lake your own with the 180k pocket change (sell a few cars) make it your own lake with the stock you want - carpark proper access the lot & make the business grow for you - you will soon be able to build the business bigger & bigger
interesting how fishing works in the uk.
Lemington lakes was for sale not sure if it still is
Fished oxlease many years ago, great water. Any one on here heard of Rolfs match fishing lake in oxford? If so what is it called now?
Rolfs still as far as I'm aware by waterperry
@benfowlerfisheries in all honesty you need to prioritise. Yes flash motors are great, but these lakes are an investment. Think of the future. With the state of rivers now, pollution, predation etc, a lot of folk could move to still waters. BUT, there needs to be more than just Carp. I'm not sure of the stock, but if you had a good predator lake then more will fish it in winter when Carp fishing goes off. You are still young and it does sound like you are spending too much on shiny things. If you sold off half your car stock, that would raise a lot of money, or raffle them? Lakes like Linear hardly ever come up for grabs. If it is your dream to own a complex, turn that into reality and prioritise your future. Don't look back in 20 years wishing, when, through some well placed thought now, in 20 years you would be well established, have a good income, and successful. However, this is all your choice - shiny cars now.........................or shiny future. All the best whatever you decide.................just one more thing, Linear is well established, has a client base, the prices to fish it work, any new lake you set up will not be ready for at least two years, take a number of years to get a client base, and will never compete with the desire people have to fish Linear.
Hrmc ! gona be on you case :D
Have you looked at orchid? Not sure if that’s still for sale?
Never let another party have a controlling influence over land or property, just walk away
Never see that coming, a no purchase!
Hi Ben another lake and house has gone up for sale that has some huge carp in it already not far from you Chipping Norton called Chad Lakes listed at £1,150,000
Great Lakes
The real question is why there are so many fisheries suddenly becoming available? It’s obvious to me that majority require a big chunk of investment to get them up to standards and likely that the business itself is not doing as well as it should.
I don’t think people realise how much effort goes into maintaining them either. After 20 years of managing aquariums and small ponds, I can tell you now that it’s a constant battle to maintain water chemistry and nutrients. I can only imagine how difficult it is when you have tons of anglers constantly throwing foods into the water column. Bigger volume certainly helps with water parameters but the downside would be additional equipment and maintenance.
If I was in Bens shoes, I’d focus on his own lake first. See how well that goes and maybe in 5 years look at moving to something as big as this video.
@@NoelG-IRE could be the price and value of land/lakes has skyrocketed in last few years and people are cashing in on it?
@@allannash380in a rising rate and inflationary cost environment. I doubt it
@@allannash380 if that’s the case it would make even more sense to stay clear as if the owners were turning over a decent profit they wouldn’t be looking to sell. I can understand maybe someone being too old to manage it, but I don’t think that’s what’s happening here. More likely there is too much competition and the running costs are starting to outweigh the profits. Or the owner has no money to invest to bring it up to standards.
3 super cars is a lot. Its not a daily car! Sell 2 use the money to trade in business and keep 1. Drive the car for a year and trade it for another 1 u wish to own
What go pro I you using m8 please???
cars as colletoral?
Are there any plans to release a mixed breed with the gigantic Japanese KOIs?
1.8 million sounds an absolute pipe dream unsustainable business model surely get laughed out of the bank .
Why don't you do a deal with the fishery and buy it between you?
Go for it BEN 🎉
You’re an inspiration and full of beans. Thanks boss
Hi Ben, is linear complex up for sale?????
Cars or lakes🤔🤔🤔what the old boy would’ve said is what I’d run with literally
You have to be so careful Ben following something you are so passionate about. You love fish and fishing but who gets rich from it. Who makes massive profits from it. I would never do leasehold you don’t own it. If you can’t manage yourself you don’t do it. No partnerships nothing. When you fly solo you learn if you are a true entrepreneur. I am dyslexic and i learnt that you don’t need others to succeed. Remember your dad had the key it doesn’t mean you hold it so be careful
You know it’s not all about getting rich… what is rich? What Rich is to you might be different to others. Just keep that in mind
My message is about being careful not about ending up rich. Sinking your money into something that you love can really cloud judgement. If he is not careful the cars house and lake will be gone. Not about being rich just safe and comfortable. I have seen peoples demise to many times I am just opening up safe thoughts.
As someone else has mentioned below, Duke's Lake in Wolvercote looks a much better option...
Apart from there is no access and parking for TC which is up for sale. Flooding most winters, Rampant otters, foreigners living in tents and dirty canal folk making a right mess!
@@oldgreg1 well apart from those minor issues.... ;o)
£1215 for 45 swims? Some of the day ticket fisheries near me are charging £40 for a 24hr…
You know full well kodra are going to buy this place!
No they won’t. Not with all the investment into embryo
Go for it you only live once
buy linear keep it safe🎣
Ben, have you considered using your Pension to buy the fishery? You could use a SIPP to buy the property and have it as part of your pension portfolio. Get in touch if you want to know more!
Terrible advice. Jesus wept
I've read a lot of these comments..
One thing no one has mentioned is animal rights, bare with me ..if a political part gains power ,and starts to take a pop at angling ,just like Germany green party or labour with its anti undercurrent towards field sports of which angling is one ..point is ,think ahead ....
IF ! that’s the key world. IF A political party wants to stop 2.2million people in ENGLAND from enjoying a pastime that’s existed for 1000s of years. I’m sure they would get no push back and everybody would just agree to it and all the fisheries would go bust.
Thinking ahead, if you take the bear with you it might eat all the fish
@@redroseanglingalex1536yes that is the standard answer, you have just mentioned, however ...although there is a large angling manufacturing base, and less anglers are coming into the pastime ,we should not be complacent as over regulation could destroy our way of life ,like I said look to Germany ,legally all fish caught are to be killed, that's on rod and line. That is where fisheries could cease to exist..on over regulation..
It's up to people who think angling is safe, to rethink ,angling is not safe ,at all..unfortunately
@@aquacruisedbhopefully the bear ,would eat all the otters eh...😂
Thank God I live in the USA fishing in uk seems depressing
We have plenty of wild waters (not as many as the USA though obviously) here as well, you're just watching from the point of view of a paylake owner.
@@user-jg2sr2uv4v I know yall have some beautiful water but I just see mostly pond carp fishing in the uk I wish you guys could come fish in the USA we are truly blessed here
If you can't afford the price make them a much lower offer.
Need to base long term rate off 8% minimum
surely you would work out what you were going to make before you started this project ????
Why do all guys in the fishing competition look like Ben
Stay the hell away from that will be a nightmare.
your lakes will earn 1 to 10 % of any accomodation you could build. Think static caravans like White acres and you would be laughing.
10 years ago, you could have bought the whole yateley complex for that money
Big risk for
Thought you was building your own lake? Just stick to that 😂
I wouldn't be leaving my kids large sums of money when i pass, to spend on fast cars etc.
Why not what a weird thing to say you’d rather your kids were destitute and struggling then would you? DON’T HAVE KIDS
@@AI-Records24 nothing weird about my comment, ive not work all my life saved and gone without to give it some some kid that does not know the value of money to waste it on lots of supper cars, ginger should be ashamed of himself. I'm not saying I would leave my kids nothing but it would surely depend how i see them approaching life and money as they get older.
@@bigal2417 as i understand it he does know the value of money, he wasn’t always loaded. Yes he inherited a lot and he could have just wacked it in the bank lived off the interest and had the high life, instead he chose to carry on working and invest it into companies which also requires a lot of work, surely that shows he does know the value of not just money but hard work too. As long as you have instilled good principles into your kids then what’s the issue with leaving them a lot? You could even stagger it so they get a certain amount per year, or leave conditions in the will. His dad had a heart attack and clearly didn’t prepare anything like that but he too was also a hardworking man with good principles. I really don’t see why you’re saying Ben should be ashamed of himself though, and to me it looks like jealousy. I get a lot of that being a multi business owner and an asset millionaire, but I was brought up on a council estate and I sure will not have my kids grow up how I did. If you want that, then take a chance, set up a company and pour your heart and soul into it, you’ll soon realise it’s not all roses and nothing comes from nothing, it’s all from hard work and determination. The inheritance bought him a head start, it didn’t buy him outright success though, he’s done that himself.
@bigal2417 agree mate. Boy comes across as a stuck up little weirdo with no value of money... no doubt been spoilt all of his life. The way he goes on is like its monopoly cash. He'd end up in a mental hone if he lived in the real world and had a regular job 😂
