For transparency, Matt has always responded to my questions via email about home improvement and home theater. You don’t have to buy anything, he’s freaking smart about investing and how to recoup the money back as a business.

This is the definition of, "Do average elsewhere." Matt is out here curating and conquering another incredible property in the time it takes me to hang up one shelf. Thank you for the inspiration!
I like the idea of the man door and I actually installed the same thing at my house. I put it on the opposite wall though with the logic that if you are in the house and going to the garage you will use the interior door and the man door entry to the garage will most likely be from the driveway. Plus in your scenario it gets everyone entering/exiting the man door away from the Evo. You might have to move that bush and add a small concrete landing, but after the work you did to your current driveway would be a piece of cake. House is sick and this series has been fun to follow.
I bet Mike went to this beautiful home and thought ‘this is perfect I don’t have to do anything here’ - then Matt decides to just pull everything apart!!. I love it
When I chose our 48 inch range I went with a 60 inch proline hood insert with a 1200 cfm exhaust . I chose the 60 in vent for two reasons one for better exhaust and two a better design once the cabinetry was built for it. It gave a much better look than a 48 inch vent. I also chose the Stearns & Foster mattress but in the Cal king. If you do decide on installing good pot filler look into Waterstone. I’m super pleased with the quality and function. Looking forward to seeing this home’s transformation.
Arizonan here, builders in AZ are under sizing units out here as well. And those jumper ducts in the attic are also too small to effectively equalize temperatures in each room. And whoever buys that house after you sell it is getting quite the bang for their buck!
Hey Matty, I've been a following & a HEX member for a few years, I don't think I've seen you so fired up. Can't wait to see the transformation. It sounds sweet.
Matt, just watch out for the main house attic space. Make sure that the ceiling assembly is rated for floor traffic. Often it is not, especially if trusses.
I can relate Matt. I've been in about 6 houses in 8 years. Big ones little ones and in between. There is something great about a smaller house that fits the function. Property and space is nice but it all requires more attention.
Look into insulating your thermostats to help at least get accurate temp readings of how messed up your HVAC system is. It can also make the temp fluctuate a lot too and enough to kick on and off all day or worse run all day for no good reason. Super easy process to do and could save an unnecessary headache lol
Hey Matt, long time follower, first time commenter lol. As a home theater designer, audio nut, I do not recommend running dual Center channels - you will usually run in to comb filtering issues with that. Plus, if you running JTR 110HT on-walls, they have pretty massive output, I don't think you'll need/want that extra speaker. Just my opinion, take it as you will 😊 Very exciting things to come! Cheers
Yeah, I would need to figure out how to do the dual centers, but I'm leaning toward not doing it. As you know the concept would be to essentially get a stereo image at the center of the screen. I'm just not quite sure how I'd accomplish that.
While his kids are growing up, pretty low. He said that was the big draw - the kids can ride bikes everywhere, have all sorts of friends. Once the kids are grown and out of the house - he’s selling that sucker!
