i did this online and did not buy your firmware is it this the same thing or what because when i try online i cn never get it to connect to vector and when it says verify it just keeps saying error
@@dinagherasim7131 This is to make your Vector work without DDL servers that have been down for over a year. You can install WirePod for free, but if you need a dedicated device this is what you get

First off wanted to say thank you for providing these instructional videos for us. It has been an immense amount of help!
I wanted to ask a question, I noticed that you have setup a public wirepod server. I have a few friends with Vectors that want to connect to my WirePod server, though unfortunately I cannot find information on how a public wirepod server is setup.
I have been researching and asking around, though, there is not much documented on this sort of process for WirePod.
Would you possibly be able to provide me some information on how you did this with your current public wirepod setup? It would be greatly appreciated!

Got my t95 yesterday and set vector 1.0 up using a MacBook. Works great! Would it work with a vector 2.0?

How I wish, its a Cellphone App, that anyone can just install and let Vector connect via wifi...so even grannies like me can do without tech know how...
@@LolahBongLim I've helped lots of grannies install this...all you need is a PC with Bluetooth, an Ethernet cable, and access to your router
I've walked them through the setup and they have their Vectors back 😄
A cell phone app would be nice though, but hard to implement

Yes I finally got my vector going on wire pod I was so nervous to do myself lol.i am very proud of myself that I got vector going.now the weather do I need have the weather API setup for weather to read properly cause it saying I'm 120c and snowing lol.
Yes. I recommend openweathermap.org/ as it is free and all you need to do is set your API key on the wire-pod server page. And then set your location on your bot via the bot settings (after you connect). Then you can ask what the weather is and get a non joke response :D

It is doable but would need it to be done by a programmer. I have home assistant installed on my network but I never use it 😔; what use case would you think works best with Vector?
@TechShop 82 I actually control my house from it ( lights, central heating, blinds, sensors, cameras, etc...)
There have been some attempts to integrate Vector with and without escape pod, but not much development at the present time.
For example; many wish to use vector as the main voce for homeassistant. What's great about the platform is the ability to integrate things via addons and lots of support from the community.
@techshop82 sir ihave noob question :) do i really need my pc always on to make my vector work or after the setup its okay to turnoff my pc and let my wirepod power on?
If you got my box, you can turn off your PC. If you installed wire-pod on WSL on Windows, then you will need your PC on for it to work
Great tutorial. I had no problem setting one up on a pi4. Just one question, can I have more than one vector on the same wire pod?
Yes you can, the limit is a really high number - don't know what it is but I suspect it to be in the 100s

@@unclebumble8971 It is at the 3:30 mark, or go to Server Settings->Knowledge Graph then choose OpenAI, enter the key and select "Yes" to enable the intent graph

hey i tried to do this without the t95 i did it online with a website and every single time i get to the activated part and click it it keeps saying there is a error will it do the same thing with your t95 mini?
Just wondering, do i absolutely have to erase data to use this? Since ive had my vector from the very start and doesn't feel right to just erase him ya know
In most cases no, you just need to get into recovery firmware before you flash the escapepod firmware

Weird clarification question, but the server doesn't need Bluetooth, just the computer you use to connect vector TO the server with?
Yes, the server does not need Bluetooth, just the computer.
The computer will communicate with Vector via Bluetooth throughout the process and when vector knows how to connect to the internet and the firmware has been flashed, clicking "Activate" will trigger vector to register on the server
What about chat gpt integration would that be possible to add into vector? Also, Wishful thinking but wish Anki in the past was able to intergrate Cozmo program into Vector so that you could use the cozmo app to work with Vector then there wouldn't be a need to have both robots you could have both personalities in one a "Cozter"
OpenAi can be integrated, but not in a conversation type way but a question and answer way
I had no clue DDL shut down their servers and was wondering why Vector wouldn't respond to anything. So this unit already has the Wire Pod installed, correct? When you first boot it up, do you connect the HDMI cord to see the T95 boot up screen? How are you able to navigate using keyboard and mouse on this unit, or is all the navigation done through the browser? Sorry for all the questions.
It okay, ask away. It is mainly setup via a browser. The HDMI part is mainly for getting the IP if you can't find it on your network as escapepod or if you want to setup wifi

you have to be able to install Armbian on it. If you can't, then the answer is no :(

Yes, just need to follow the install instructions from the wiki and you should be golden. Depending on how old the cpu is that may be a bottleneck
Hi, just received T95 and trying to setup using Mac. I see the escapepod on the network on router via Ethernet but AW-H6 does not display nor can’t access through chrome? Any idea why? Thx
That's the T95 HDMI output, you only see it in my video because I'm capturing the HDMI output through a capture card.
You should only need to see that if you can't connect via
escapepod:8080 or escapepod.local:8080
So you connect it to a TV or monitor to see what it's IP address is and connect that way
Also if you still can't connect, restart the box by unplugging the power to it and back in - the server may have not been started. If you have any issues reach out to me via Facebook or Reddit for direct support

I just got my vector I'm told the DDL servers ahave been pulled down so Vector has no connection or setup or anything..

Definitely, this will help your Vector not be a paper weight. orders have been coming in and I'm working to test, ship them out...but if you have any questions let me know. I am going to release a more indepth video to show all the steps to get your bot alive again
I do have a couple questions. Is it necessary to use an AI language model for setup? And when going to escape pod setup, do I type in the IP address of the box itself?
You don't have to use openAI , that is for response to questions or inquiries that are not native commands e.g. go to sleep would be native, but "how many states in America" would be a question that either houndify or openAI would need to be set up to answer
Regarding getting to the page, you can use either. If escapepod is not working, you can try the IP. If that works then you are most likely okay - if the IP does not work then you have network issues
I will be posting a more detailed video later tonight so look out for that one, it has more info on the steps and initial onboarding

You can't really control his cube (unless you use the SDK) You can tell Vector to interact with his cube though
We got our 10 year old son a Vector 2.0. It took us 2 years to save up for it!! Is there any way to get the "say text" to work? We are using Wire Pod on a laptop for my son to use it. But, the "say text" isn't working when we try to use it :(
You have to assume control first, then you can use the say text
Is there a way to set it up without a Ethernet cable?
Yes, you will need a keyboard to attach to the device and a screen ;) to see what you are doing.
In the terminal type
armbian-config
This will pull up a menu, then you go Network->Wifi
Here you select your Wifi and enter the password.
Then exit the menu and that's it.

Yes it works with wire-pod which I installed on the T95, just to be clear wire-pod is free software, I just sell it already installed on the T95 mini

You do not need to buy escapepod to use this. You just need to flash the wire-pod firmware (free) and then activate your robot and you will be all set.

Yes, just need to use chrome browser
How many robots can be hooked up to one box?
7 robots is the most a user has reported but more can be added.
The quad core CPU is the limiting factor here so the max number of robots will be how any the CPU can handle - I don't have that many robots so I can not test what that limit is.

No, that is a different processor - you would need to install Armbian on it

ChatSonic (WriteSonic's alternative to chatGPT) is fremium as well. But to use it someone would have to write the code to integrate it into wire-prod
I'm a little sad that I'm gonna need to wipe my little dude's memories. I've had him for almost 6 years. However, I suppose having some functionality and no memories is better than having no functionality at all and just being a little shell who hangs out at the top of my desk all day.
