Appreciate these head to head comparisons between Uniqlo and Muji, I shop at both so it's nice to know the small differences between them and which one might be better
My mother is 75 years old with dementia. She is only comfortable wearing Muji shirts. She complains a lot with other brands. So whenever we are in singapore (the closest store from Indonesia since Muji is not here anymore), we make sure to buy Muji shirts for her as well as for all of us.
I've own the Uniqlo U t shirt and Muji Heavy Jersey T. The Uniqlo looks and feel better made. However i find myself wear the Muji much more. The cotton feels slightly heavier and from my experience of washing the Muji 10 plus times. They have held put very well.
This is perfect! I was thinking where to get my tees and matching shorts for home wear and strolling. My current favorite is a lesser known brand. I look great in them but the top itches! Need to change because it makes working difficult and I get irritable when working from home even with air-conditioning. Thanks man!
For the really hot over 30C days in Singapore the 100% cotton mujis breathe better. Also I have a sensitive nose but the airism poly blend sometimes gives off a weird smell when there is too much perspiration 😅
I just can't wrap my head around how much some of these details can matter to some people. We are talking about the plainest of the plainest t-shirts, they will always be possible to dress up or down, they are simply... short-sleeve tshirts with the most regular of cuts possible, not longer than most, no crazy collars, no elbow long sleeves, no drop-shoulder... just the plain old "tee" you can wear around the house or at your informal office... thats it =)
@@subtlesartorialist I am interested in a review of their linen clothes. I had a linen dress from Muji bought in 2015 and it was great and felt cool and was very breathable. This year 2024 I bought another linen dress from them, the first time since then and the linen felt a different quality and the dress itself was so warm to be in that I didn't wear it at all during summer because of this, while the previous dress I was wearing all the time. Another thing with linen pants. Also bought one pair in 2016 and the next one in 2024. The first one was navy while the new one is black. I used to wear the old navy pants for several years also every day in tropical climate with lots of sun and they were looking great all the time. The years black pants faded and the black colour has changed to red in spots that were under the sun and that's while I am in the North now where there is very little sun even during summer. In just 2 months of not every day wear this year pants look very badly.

Haven't tried the Muji one but yeah my U tee is already starting to go out of shape...

Welcome man! Definitely ditch that tee as soon as you get a comfier one!
MUJI for me 😊
Same!
Too bad Muji no longer available in my country gonna stick with uniqlo for now.
well on the bright side they're not too much different in the grand scheme of things so you're not missing out much
Where do you live? They reopened their online shop in case it's in Europe.
My man, what are second shorts at 3:24?
Just some loungewear shorts from Uniqlo
@@subtlesartorialist thanks!✌️
Bro, ur mic is broken
yeah totally, changed up my mic in my more recent vids!
Why would you pick either over Airism 😂
yeah, what's your take on those? nice video as always, btw
Depends... 100% cotton tees are more comfy if I'm in aircon all day, Airism are for clammy days
will do a comparison vid between the Uniqlo U Airism oversized tee vs Uniqlo U crew neck tee soon, stay tuned!

A fair comparison would have been uniqlo's U-crew neck short sleeve T-shirt vs Muji's jersey T as both Tees are heavyweight fabric and are basic tees.
Hmm might be a change/difference in the Muji name where you are cuz both tees in the vid are definitely lightweight.
@@subtlesartorialistare they similar in thickness and breathability?
Yeap pretty much the same, I think most people wouldn't be able to tell the diff in a blind test.
@@subtlesartorialist how does uniqlo and muji compare in terms of quality? Do you think muji is better overall or just for this item?
Hmm depends on your definition of quality (eg. sacrificing durability for lightness). For basic cotton tees and wool sweaters, I prefer Muji.
I dont like how Muji sources their cotton
