I have been on a funicular railway on the Isle of capri in Italy it goes from the harbour to the centre to Anna capri then you have to take a very old chairlift to the top of the island it is amazing for views of the amalfi coast
What a lovely little thing! You'd almost wonder why they'd ever build it. Seems to be more effort than it's worth haha. Also: the one at Greenford isnt a funicular because it doesnt have two carriages that counterbalance each other, thats one of the requirements for a funicular, otherwise its just an incline lift, which uses the same cable system, but uses strong motors to haul a carriage up, instead of the weight of another carriage going down.
