    its insane how this guy has the most surface level opinions. anytime destiny tries to dig down on his reasoning/logic behind a statement the automatic response is "read books"

      and there is Tik Tok politics in a nutshell lol

    • @TNTspaz
      @TNTspaz ปีที่แล้ว +21

      To be completely fair. I've read a lot of books I wouldn't be able to summarize cause they take like a year + if not longer to fully understand all the ideas. Well fuck, biblical texts fall under that category easily. Either that or they are like Stephen King style books and are bat shit insane so summarizing anything from them is nearly impossible
      His comebacks are dumb but sometimes the ideas are just too broad or hard to summarize even for people who have read them. While still being able to discuss the ideas the books focused on in a general sense. He obviously wasn't coming at it from that viewpoint though
      Edit: Tried to make it clear I wasn't defending the guy but the majority of the replies took it that way and ignored what I said or misconstrued it

    • @kirikoza2488
      @kirikoza2488 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      @@TNTspaz I agree, you can read something and not understand it. This is why we do reading comprehension in school and write book reports - if you can't articulate these ideas in your own words then you do not understand the concepts you're speaking about.

    • @Daniel-iv6kb
      @Daniel-iv6kb ปีที่แล้ว +4

      There is also the saying that if you can't explain something simply, you don't fully understand it.

    • @TNTspaz
      @TNTspaz ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kirikoza2488 For sure. I'm mainly just saying you can still discuss the ideas from said books without being able to fully summarize them. A lot of time the discussion would be so you can get to that point. He obviously wasn't trying to do that and him using it as a comeback is dumb. Just don't like blanketly saying that someone hasn't read something just because they haven't gotten to the point of being able to full summarize it effectively. Definitely a semantic point but something that always irks me about that line of thinking. It makes people believe they shouldn't discuss the ideas unless they are essentially an expert in them, which is reductive to the entire idea of discussing the ideas so that you better understand them.
      Like you can read a textbook a dozen times and never properly retain anything from it until you discuss the ideas or concepts with a professor or just any other person

    • @Conantas
      @Conantas ปีที่แล้ว +38

      The role of manager is tough, and is hard work. There's a lot of responsibility in the role. What this dude, and the book, AND Destiny are all missing, is that there are shitty managers that coast their job. They do the bare minimum, they push their own responsibilities to people in lower positions than them. Workers *can* pick up the slack and self manage on a lot of things. They can put up with horrible fucking scheduling that requires them to leave work at 11pm and come back in at 6am. Eventually things will fuck up or they'll just burn out because the wages don't justify the extra work they put in. Running a successful business DOES NOT mean workers are happy and properly compensated.
      These lefties want to throw out the entire car because their engine belts are creaky and their break pads have worn down.
      Economics is such a complicated thing though. My gut feeling says Jeff Bezos doesn't deserve the money he makes. Amazon has poor working conditions in their warehouses. A lot of these multibillion dollar corporations do things that fuck the environment, and they outsource to countries where they use child labor. Its fucked up and to deny these things happening is what annoys me about pro-capitalist positions. I think we can make criticisms of capitalism and improve them without throwing out the entire system.

Or if he does reply, it has nothing to do with what the person actually said, but the people in chat, have already committed themselves to being on Hasan's side through the laughing Emoji's etc, so they have already chosen a side, and they are not likely to switch, as it's human nature, to want to stick to your side. For example, people like Mises thinks that state capitalism isn't possible and considers it a form of socialism. What capitalism is and what socialism is are philosophical in nature. So that might partially answer you question, that being, yes capitalism is philosophical as well. Most of the economist who spoke on capitalism, like Hayek, for example, were also engaging in a form of philosophy (though not outright saying it). I can detail more about socialism as a concept, but the Standford Encycolopedia of Philosophy has a good article on it if you look up "Socialism - Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy."
