Aloha from Honolulu, So this is the ONLY description of how to set this up that worked for me. MAHALO! For the first time, I have a Kontakt 7 multi-instrument! Appreciate it!
i think this may be the best explained vid i've seen how to do this. Thanks so much for sharing this.. Extremely helpful.. I seriously think kontakt is a powerful instrument, but the user interface could def use a HUGE face lift.
Thank you for this tutorial. One thing I had learned previously is that inside Kontakt, you can hit the '!' exclamation mark in the top right corner to update the renamed channels. No need to restart Logic.
Thank you Andrea! This is the best tutorial on configuring Kontakt in Logic I have seen. Worked perfectly for me. NI's UI is a bit clunky, but I've got it now. Thanks again!
I'm fairly new to using Logic with virtual instruments and I'm so happy that I came across your channel. Tomorrow I plan to try the approach that you explain in your January 20th video and figure out whether it's a full replacement for, and has advantages over, the approach in this video, or whether they're complementary. I've subscribed to your channel and I really hope that you continue making videos. Cheers. P.S. I was beginning to think that I'm the only person who uses the C. Bechstein library :)
Aloha again. Two thoughts. (1) When testing your new configuration, but sure to use an external keyboard or the Logic Pro screen keyboard and NOT the keyboard within Kontakt 7. I got myself truly confused on my MacBook using the K7 keyboard (all it plays is the first loaded instrument). (2) To keep everything tidy, you can place all the multi-timbral instruments in a Track Stack folder. Very useful. Again -- best video for setting up multiple instruments in K7. Mahalo!
Something that I don't understand is how did you create "Drums Out" because Drums is the main host and when we want to create to create a track we cannot it keeps saying channels strips is not selected. Do you have any advice for that ?
Why did you create 16 multi timbral parts ? Right at beginning Just create multi output 16 stereo This way you don’t have extra tracks in edit page that are linked. These tracks serve no function. You can record midi onto the AuX tracks instead that you created later This way your track count on mixer. Matches that on edit page. Please let me know advantage of those extra multi instrument tracks
Sometimes if I add an instrument, its sent to „Channel x + Groups“ I dont know how to change it. The instrument afterwards plays everytime, no matter in which channel I am. Its pretty annoying. Does someone know how to fix this problem?

thanks for this great video. One of the best explainer videos about the Kontakt Sampler. Explained in detail and understandable.
This was excellent! Cleared up some confusion.
Very thorough. Thank you for this!

Can’t you just use DMD, Drum Machine Designer instead of having to buy kontakt?
