yknow i had an entire theory about figure so basically figure used to be the manager of the hotel, and said hotel was very populated, but something bad happened in the hotel and everybody left the hotel, but the manager stayed committed, trying to get people to come back to the hotel, however nobody listened, and his desperate attempts to get back into business caused his body to start to deform into figure and his new form was a mix of his anxiety, sadness, and resentment to those who turned his back on him, but he's also blind due to the term "blinded by rage" which is why he confuses you (a new hotel visitor looking for a place to stay) as a former visitor who left him and never came back, so he tries to kill anyone he senses
That's possibly the most forced theory with the least amount of evidence that I've ever heard, if you said that he was an ALLEGORY for that then MAYBE.
I think you should've added "the entity can sense your heartbeat if you get too close, even if you are standing still" after you say to keep some distance from the entity
Also Figure getting faster with every new book and his path changes with new book cause it is always looped. And when player opens lock Figure becoming super fast and looking for players randomly...

i think this entity is very much inspired by scp-303. and someone said death angles or something hear heartbeats too, so maybe it's a combination. and before you say demogorgon, no, that's a star shaped mouth that splits open, this is a round mouth for a head, similar to the appearance of scp-303 also known as... The eyes before the Encounter section I have lore for. You are in a dream/coma for so long that you've started to put yourself in dangerous and scary situations involving doors. Your mind thinks you're trapped inside an "infinite" hotel filled with entities and monsters but you're actually in a coma. The eyes are everyone that had loved you or friended you. They constantly watch out for you to see if you wake up. The "Wake Up" message is the painful sobbing of everyone around you, affected by your unconscious state. They want you to wake up.. but something is not letting you.
Also if you need to walk but you are near the enitity, it is best to crouch. I normally crouch the whole time while I am in level 50. Also each time you find a book, the figure's speed increaces. also keep note, that the note has roman numerals on it. If you dont know the numbers go up to 1 from 5 (i think) I is 1, II is 2, III is 3, IV is 4 and V is 5.

If it starts chasing you, hide in a closet...And if you're trying to go upstairs, and you already got all the books downstairs, don't try running since the figure would be alot faster than you. You should try crouching while moving next to it. That ruined my run many times .But for him to hear you while ur crouching and moving he needs to be really close…

You should add the fact that if you play with other people that if you escape the room without them figure is gonna go berserk and then they will die by hide for hiding too long
They should include these tutorials for new players before the room they are about to enter if it can be a cutscene in the game where there is a tv above the door of that room

“The entity is guaranteed to appear in both levels” My response: very true, but you are able to glitch the figure into the sky in door 50 and the figure sometimes couldn’t make the jump. (Btw this is before hotel+)
Also, you forgot all the players must be together when they unlock the lock. When a player is hiding the player will not control their heartbeat and figure will instantly kill them without giving them the mini game. Also, you need to crouch so the figure cant make contact with you and kill you And at room 100 figures hearing low when your not close so basically if your far away he does not hear and also figures hearing is much better now in the hotel + update at room 100 if your 2 steps close he will chase you upon he will kill you if you dont run.
Door 50 - The Libary Door 100 - The Elevator The Libary you maybe find the book that the paper says becareful! crouch so he cant see you! The Elevator The Elevator Is an exit and it has a cutsense for it. and also you need to fix the Elevator Power first that you can escape in the Elevator.
also in the game it doesn't say controlling your heartbeat I know It looks like it but when you die in the mini game the death screen says control your breathing
