    LOVE this video! I'd just say that a 24"x24"x48" enclosure would actually be great for a female chameleon since they require a laying bin that takes up a decent amount of space and because a T5 5.0 UVB will give you the correct UVI outputs on a 48" tall enclosure. If a T5 5.0 is used on a 36" enclosure you may be overexposing your chameleon to UVB.

      Hey thanks so much for taking the time to watch, and I’m glad you enjoyed it! Yeah I agree that size would be better for a female, and that’s a great point that you’ve made! I plan on doing more panther chameleon related videos eventually, and uvb was def on the list! ;)

    Great video. I’m hoping to acquire my first chameleon shortly. I assume that like I learned with the bearded dragon I owned, you should not be leaving any live crickets or roaches in the cage overnight that the Chameleon didn’t eat, as it can stress them and the feeder insects can actually proceed to bite your chameleon.

    Hi, I just got myself a male ambilobe panther chameleon today. I'm guessing I paid too much for it. But su;ch is life. I really enjoyed your video on care. Unfortunately I have fake plants at the moment, so I will have to shop for switching them out, as per your advice. I'm wondering though, Since I can turn off the light at night, should I also turn off the mister at night? And do you have a recommended time frequency for spraying and how long to spray for? I have the large 36" tall cage, with a sqare base, if that matters. They had me buy a kind of spungy matterial that they sais I should get wet and spread out on the botton. Should I get rid of that and replace it with something else?

    Great video and very informative. I've only just recently learned about the puffy crown being a sign of excess fat and my male has this despite having a relatively normal body. Can you tell me how long it took you to reduce the puffiness of the one that came to you overweight and also what kind of diet you put him on?

    • @mightymorphingreptiles
      @mightymorphingreptiles  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I believe it took me about 2 months. However, every case is different and takes time. I just fed him crickets, roaches and fed less frequently and less supplemented. Again every case is different and there isn’t a magic number for every chameleon.

  • @butcher1335

    Is this all just for panther chameleons or is the Feeding consistency The same for all chameleons at young ages. Have you ever had problems with chameleon babies falling from high places in cages? I was wondering if you have a solution for how to take up some space in a tall cage that he doesn’t need yet but could use when he grows into. In fact could you talk about in a video what to expect when taking care of a baby Chamaeleon?

    • @mightymorphingreptiles
      @mightymorphingreptiles  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man! Is I feed my babies to sun adults daily until they get to around the age that they slow down their metabolism that I mentioned in the video.
      I’ve never had babies actually fall down from up high unless they were frightened and jumped off to escape my love! 😂
      Okay for the solution to fill up negative space in a larger enclosure. So chameleon cages such as repti breezes have a black panel on the bottom. You can raise that panel up and then use a plant stand, bucket or something to set the panel on top of to hold it up.
      That’s a good video idea! Thanks for asking. I just wrote it down for notes on video ideas. I can’t promise I’ll make on here soon as I have already tons of videos stacked to release weekly for the upcoming months, and have to finish the other ones I’m in the middle of making before I tackle a new video. I will do it someday just probably not to when you need me to make one. I apologize for the inconvience being a content creator is very time challenging!

    I don’t understand the calcium Stuff. They don’t get that much in the wild so why dump all that calcium?

    • @mightymorphingreptiles
      @mightymorphingreptiles  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1) they do get it in the wild from a wide variety prey items they eat. Especially when it comes to let’s say a smaller lizard. 2) most of the feeders we provide don’t provide enough calcium naturally. 3) they require uvb to process the calcium in the body. I hope that’s helps a lil more.
