- Today, it has been 2 months since the peaceful protests in Dege, Kham,Tibet against the Dam/hydropower construction by Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Therefore, Toronto Tibetans are protesting against CCP illegal Dam construction in Tibet that is causing displacement and forced relocation of thousands of Tibetans and destruction of Kham Dege townships that include many centuries old prestigious temples too. 2 months ago on February 14, 2024, the peaceful protest by the locals in Dege county led to CCP officials detaining of more 1000 Tibetans in addition to beating, torturing and treating inhumanly. Therefore, we demand the release of all Tibetans that are detained, we request all International communities esp. our Canadian government to support in stopping the Dam project in TIbet. We ask the international communities and governments to press CCP for accountability of the human rights violations, transparency, and to assess the negative social, ecological, environmental impact of the dam project by CCP in Tibet.
