After deleting the ubuntu directory, go back to diskpart, select your disk and the system partition again and execute "remove letter=z" to remove the assigned letter. System partition doesn't need a letter. If it has a letter, it is visible in the file explorer and you can give yourself the permission to do anything with it. Any tinkerer that doesn't know about system partition can remove your boot files.
Aw man 😭. Bro, so thankful to you ngl. This shit was scaring the hell out of me. Finally, everything is back to normal. No Ubuntu nothing, just windows, just the way it was when I first brought it. Hats off to you ❤
very much thank you !! it really works!! Step 1: first open “Disk Management” from windows search. Now delete the linux partition volume and extends into either C/D drive. Step 2: Now, open CMD and type below commands... 1. Diskpart 2. list disk 3. select Disk 0 4. list partition 5. select partition 1 6. assign letter=z 7. exit Now main part to delete linux part... IMPORTANT!! Anyone who is having boot loop error and showing RESET SYSTEM. These steps fixed it for me : 0. While reboot is happening press F2, a menu will open. Exit that menu, your windows will open temporarily. Now open cmd as admin 1. Follow the same steps as in this video *again* until assigning Z letter then exit the Diskpart. (I mean until 2:37) (Do capital Z for convenience) 2. Next type cd /d Z:\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\ 3. Then bcdboot C:\Windows /s Z: /f UEFI Done. Close cmd and restart now. This happens because pc boots from the old ubuntu partition maybe (which is empty now), so these steps returns the boot option to Windows C partition again. If you have any issue just check on Chatgpt I did the same
Many thanks Murugan, just a follow-up comment: after your steps, the first time I reboot my machine it kept refreshing at some prior-booting stage; so I kept pressing F12, then machine led me to a booter selection menu. I later selected windows booter, and it led me to the correct windows system. For the following reboot trials, this thing never happen again (I guess this is a first-time issue? Btw I am using Lenovo Legion).
THANK YOU!! The other tutorial I tried had me install some 3rd party software that made you have to pay to fix things, your tutorial worked much easier!!
i had a question the first time i downloaded ubuntu i followed your steps and it worked like a charm but after i did it again this time i dont find efi why ? and ubuntu still shows even tho i know its partition 7 it still dosent work
Wana add sometime your device would not able to start proper so for that you must enter your uefi settings probably by entering f12 or esc depends just see for the setup default and then save and exit it will restart successfully
I followed each step of yours. But when I Restart the laptop. It's not opening. Only there is popup in the top left side of the screen saying 'Reset System'. Please help me.

Didnt worked for me.
"Virtual disk service error. The specified drive letter is invalid"
@@bbom9197 no need to do that, after restarting the pc, windows removes the assigned letter by itself
