She actually hates gossip... and she hates herself because she became the one thing she hated the most. BUT for her it's at least better than going back to being an outcast, right?
I can in a way relate to this to a degree. I was born with ADHD which made me different among my peers, and I struggled socially with my peers especially in my youth before the teenage years hit (which was a mess within itself), and so I would try to fit in with everyone else, even if it meant doing things I hated just to belong. I kind of kept this up because I also hated saying no because I hated upsetting anyone, but I also always put the blame on myself even if something wasn’t my own fault. I just went along with things, probably in fear of rejection and being abandoned. I also grew to hate myself. I’m currently 18, and my ADHD hasn’t changed much, and I was also diagnosed with GAD, and it’s possible I also suffer from Scrupulosity (religious OCD), and maybe even some depression. I also do not handle my own emotions properly, often just bottling them up. I also seem to suffer from trust issues and being a perfectionist, emotionally and mental wounds as well.
