dont want more seasons per se, but it would be awesome to keep getting more cyberpunk stories like this. like one could focus more on nomads and the struggles coming from and going to night city, while another focuses on an NCPD officer struggling with being dirty or not. so much potential in the cyberpunk world to make more amazing side stories.
I'd love to see it be an anthology series, with new cast of characters, new stories, even new time period, but all in the Cyberpunk and Night City world of the game. So many stories to tell. So much that can be done.
Exactly this. I'd love to see these writers and Trigger do more of this anime, but each season should be a self-contained story. It could be cool if some characters crossed over in a cameo or small supporting role from time to time, to give it a shot of continuity besides Night City itself, but the core of it should be a new main cast and their story each season. I think that would cool. In particular, it would be interesting to go back and see the story of Melissa Rory, the chick with the Mantis Blades from the original announcement trailer, and what led to that moment (and her joining Max-Tac).
The anime is absolutely amazing. It’s so enthralling, has some great tear jerker moments and most important of all, has seriously brought a huge resurgence too the game!
100% this anime convinced me to buy the game it was so fucking good the ending was top notch and the death scenes of certain characters were enough to make u wanna cry the music was amazing too and added to those tear jerking scenes
The fact that it is based on a game makes it 100% better because you could feel like you are part of the Night City and reminisce the anime while roaming around the city.
I really like your statement about how the characters are not actively trying the save the city or anything overly grand like that, instead the city is "happening to them" and we're just along for the ride. I think this slice-of-life type story model is vitally needed in television and movies right now, and I think you summed it up perfectly.
Before: Ah this looks like a fun action packed "turn your brain off" anime to watch after work After: How tf can fictional animated characters make me so emotional 😭😭😭😭😭 I don't think I've ever felt this emotional and stirred up after fictional content like a game, movie, show whatever... it's an incredible feeling that they made this hir so hard but so sad... classic example of wishing I never watched this masterpiece... Amazing show, one of the best anime ever made, this is an experience not to be missed. This one really stuck with me all the time and the song is so bitter sweet and romantic man... CD and Trigger nailed this one perfectly. I love how they portrayed Night City as incredibly dangerous and you can just get your head blown off at any minute and life is so fragile and people just *poof, and they're gone... And it's amazing that they stayed true to the Cyberpunk lore as well with UI, text font, aesthetic, places, guns, people/gangs, cyberware etc etc... You can tell so much love and passion was put into the show to show these details. 10/10! They also literally managed to get so many extra people to suddenly become very insterested in the cyberpunk 2077 world. After the disaster of a launch and glitches galore, this amazing and intruiging anime, and of course bug fixes have drawn many new people in and old players back, like me. Bravo! I loved all the characters in the gang but to be honest David was starting to act like an a$$hole to the end of the show and even though he's got everyone telling him to stop pushing the limits of his body or he'll go cyberpsycho he still does it anyway to fulfil his egotistical pride and deadpan mindset, and things turned out tragic. He's a likeable character but he really doesn't deserve Lucy honestly since she basically begged for him to stop to save his life and he not only doesn't understand but threatens to break up which hurts Lucy... What a a$$hole! Lucy really did love him and he's probably the only thing that ever really mattered to her. It was very sweet yo see them living together in the luxury apartment, it was so wholesome, Lucy seemed like she just wanted a simple life with David but David chose otherwise... I think the reason Lucy fancied David in the first place is because he was a very innocent, natural and "organic" person and wholesome, amidst all the cyber chaos, corpo scheming, gang wars and nasty business, David was a person she could feel easy with. But later on she realised that David has embarked on a forsaken cyber route and yet still loves him, that's what makes her a keeper. I think despite this being a bunch of fictional characters and only 10 episodes, it deeply explores the human condition. Very impressive honestly. He also doesn't deserve Rebecca too lol. I think this show does a great job showing the downfall of a person who strives to hard for power and abandons his humanity and what matters to him, and no one could stop him in place in ruining himself... He's a heroic idiot who witnessed how bad going insane is with all these modifications but still couldn't resist his spiral down, it's quite a tragic story since the developers are really good at making feel attached to characters and then ripping them away painfully...😣🤨 Anyways the show really did made you FEEL so many emotions by the end. Sadness, melancholy, emptiness etc etc... 😫 How they managed to create such an emotionally hard hitting and impactful story out of 10 episodes in a world of cybernetics and rotten crime is beyond me. Its incredible that they made such a good romance, action, psychological and gore anime at the same time. Im addicted to the let me stay song and watching the scenes again but it makes me super sad and it ruins my perfectly fine day lol 😭🤣. Really impressed and devastated at the same time... I wish they could just give us an alternate ending to fill our empty hearts, even one where Davids body dies but becomes a cyber soul or cyber consciousness inside Lucy is fine at this point 😭
If you like the concept of what essentially amounts mercenaries going on different jobs but still including more philosophical themes, I would recommend checking out Black Lagoon.
Glad you enjoyed the Anime. I would highly suggest replaying Cyberpunk 2077. It has been absolutely amazing returning to the game with no expectations. The world of Cyberpunk 2077 is so rich and filled to the brim with wonderful and dark characters. I am so hyped to experience the upcoming DLC!
I played it for the first time a week ago n put about 45 hours into it and completed it yesterday. I absolutely love it and is my favorite game i played this year
@@OmenofWorlds The driving still kind of sucks though. Then again, the same could be said about riding Roach in TW3 and people still enjoyed that game. In that sense not much has changed. You get from point A to B and that's it. 😄
@@OmenofWorlds I came back to the game to finish my first playthrough, and while I'm enjoying being able to finally wrap up the last part of the game, it's interesting that people say it's so polished... I've had lots of minor bugs, far more than Saints Row, where I haven't really experienced many at all. But I'm not too picky about bugs, my only real issue is trying to return to the game and remembering where I left off lol. Apparently, I'm at a point in the main story where there's no return and I now have a huge list of sidequests. I'm trying to figure out which ones are the most important before I get too bored and don't finish the game at all.

I'd like to see two more seasons, each with new stories and new characters: One corpo and one nomad - both to mirror the lifepath choices in the game, but also just because it would be interesting to see Night City from those perspectives.
Well here's the thing, do an anime of every life path. Then in game each life path runs into those characters until you have a totally rounded roster of characters. This might be a stretch too, but there's other borged out villains too. You could have each life path fight the arch nemesis of each series, that way your life path can determine your villain. Corpo has a rival corpo to take down, and the nomad could at odds with some kind of ncpd crooked guy.
I think when u play the game before watching the anime makes u love the anime so much more and vise versa if u play after u watch it, it makes u love the world in the game its crazy how it can complement each other no matter witch goes first

It also make you look at v vary differently. V did what their whole crew did by himself while dying and with (if going by base v) less mods then even Lucy had. It’s not often that you get a good scale of how truly powerful a player cherictor or the final boss is and my god it just shows that v is a monster. Even at max his mods ant nowhere near David (even just episode 5 David) or smasher level yet if going on fear the reaper he wins and prity soundly at that. Now I’m just wondering what v vs smasher or even just v and Jackie vs smasher looked like. Those fights must have been insane
Rebecca was my favorite character. Her whole love interest thing about and it not completely enveloping her personality while maintaining her psychotic, but still very human attitude was very refreshing. Super happy they kept her in the show!

This show was much better than I expected! Really compelling characters and storyline. I loved that it stayed true to the Cyberpunk universe and city, bringing out the best aspects of this world. As much as I'd like a second season just because of how good this was, I think it would likely ruin the magic created here. It doesn't need a second season at all and they shouldn't try to force it to work by making more seasons. Overall I'm really glad that its been so well received and brought people back into the game.
I feel that way about Arcane honestly. I wish they'd just leave it alone, but there's also that 2% part of me that's holding out hope that they can pull off another season of greatness...
I think another season could work if they had it following a totally new group of characters with a totally new story in the same setting of Night City. Also, I never understand the argument that having another season or sequel would "ruin" something. Even if a second season sucked, it wouldn't effect the first season because it already exists. You could just rewatch the first season any time if you wanted and nothing about it would change.
@@itsaUSBline I think that's easy to say, but sequel trilogy star Wars definitely undermines the events and ending of the original trilogy, to name just one example. It's hard to just pretend something doesn't exist.
@@itsaUSBline I see what you're saying, but it's a legacy thing imo. They could potentially try to force the stories of the characters to progress even more in an unnatural way that would ruin their development. We have plenty of shows to serve as examples where this has happened and the entire story is crippled. If they made a second season with these same characters and it was bad, they can't just undo it. We would've watched it because we've grown to love the characters and want to see how their journeys would progress. It's hard to just forget it happened and only watch season one again just cause it was good. Their stories would exist beyond season one at that point and acting like it doesn't exist would feel incomplete for the characters.

It has some things from the game?! Trigger absolutely nailed the game world into anime. Just about everything from the anime is in the game. Cars, weapons, clothing, and most importantly, locations. The entire time I was watching, it was non-stop nostalgia being able to point out all the familiar locations. It's insane how much of the game Trigger put into the anime. Someday someone will outline all the connections between the two, and it will end up needing to be a two hours video.

Started watching it the day it came out and finished it the following day. Knew right away how great it was, and it’s been really interesting to see it’s popularity quickly grow day by day to the point that it’s one of the most currently talked about animes. Which is saying a lot considering how big the month of October is going to be for a lot of large animes
As someone who loved the music in the game and thought it was a shame that like nobody talked about it with all the other discourse surrounding the game going around, I think it was great that they featured songs from the radio stations as insert songs in the show. I Really Wanna Stay At Your House was always one of my favorite tracks in the game and it's great to see more people appreciating it now. Also there are so many little callbacks to the game that are neat, like when people do quickhacks, the little hacking minigame interface from the game pops up, like little things like that. As someone who really enjoyed the game, despite it completely undershooting my expectations, it was very cool. I found myself often recognizing specific streets and corners in it too, like not just the obvious iconic locations from the game they use, but even just random streets and places they show. I found myself frequently knowing exactly where that spot was, and that level of attention to detail was amazing to see. They really did an excellent job of recreating the Night City of the game down to the most minute details. I saw an interview with the director of Studio Trigger where he was saying that they basically traced a lot of locations directly from game footage, then went over them with addition effects and art.
And it's amazing that they stayed true to the Cyberpunk lore as well with UI, text font, aesthetic, places, guns, people/gangs, cyberware even Lucy's quickhack holo interface etc etc... You can tell so much love and passion was put into the show to show these details and by making the universe coherent, the world feels alive. Animation, soundtrack pacing, humour, colour, vibes, referencing...etc... 10/10! They also literally managed to get so many extra people to suddenly become very insterested in the cyberpunk 2077 world. After the disaster of a launch and glitches galore, this amazing and intruiging anime have made the city "real" and "living" and of course bug fixes have drawn many new people in and old players back, like me. I wish they could just give us an alternate ending to fill our empty hearts, even one where Davids body dies but becomes a cyber soul or cyber consciousness inside Lucy is fine at this point 😭😭
I think the cool thing about the Cyberpunk universe is that literally anyone off the street could have an interesting story. I would love to see more "mini series"

I personally think another thing that made the anime so good is it had an amazing soundtrack, and even playing incredible background music that you normally wouldn't even notice. And I think a big part of that is because cyberpunk 2077 has an incredible soundtrack too and they took some songs from that so it was a win win for everyone. Awesome show.

I am really glad that you made this video Jake. This show was definitely not on my radar, but I ended watching it, and I am very glad I did. The show threw me right back into the world of Cyberpunk and made me, much like you download the game for another go around. Thanks for another great video!

I’m so glad that you’re talking about this show, and getting more of your viewers into it! I have to say that not many people would give it a chance and your opening up doors to a great experience!
When I finished this anime I got THAT feeling. You know the one? Where you just know you just witnessed something fantastic and have this strange sense of melancholy. Had the same feeling after Arcane, FMA Brotherhood, HxH2011 (after chimera ant arc), Your Lie in April, just to name a few.

Seven Deadly Sins gave me the same feeling Edgerunners did. Every character was put through the ringer. By the end of it, I was emotionally tapped out.
Totally agree, was a lot better than I was expecting. I didn't even realize Studio Trigger was the one making it (also did Kill la Kill and some other stuff). I don't even know that many anime studios/creators, but I know Trigger is probably my favorite. They also made a really awesome episode of the Star Wars: Visions anthology - the one called "The Twins". But yeah, I'd totally watch as many seasons of this as Trigger feels like making.
Glad to hear you and so many others enjoyed it just like me. But goddamn dude, this series broke me. [SPOILERS WARNING BELOW] Can't stop feeling sorry for Lucy. Lost everything. Her dream is nothing without David
@@terrafirma5327 It's of course up to interpretation, but I think the last episode title says it all, "My Moon My Man". Lucy's gonna live the rest of her life never fulfilling her true dream, having David with her, and that's ignoring if the people thinking she killed herself immediately after the ending aren't right (I don't think so, but unless we get game DLC confirming one way or another who knows). It's a true tragedy all around 😢 It also makes David and his Mom's fates come full circle. Both died trying to provide a dream for another, when the other they died for would have just preferred they live. Love this show.

@@terrafirma5327 That's the tragedy of it, the moon wasn't _really_ her dream. It was just the furthest place from Arasaka that she could find, somewhere she hoped she could finally be free of the fear of being hunted, somewhere she could find peace. She found that peace with David, he had become her moon, and the final scene of her vision of David abruptly disappearing symbolized the fact that she lost that peace and it would never be found on the moon.
@@mingyuhuang8944 I'm pretty sure the scene where they "break up" its not David who says they should break up but Lucy, I'm pretty sure she said it then the scene after was her in her own mind saying that's not what she really wanted.
Its crazy how good the anime is. Everything involved with this project is amazing even the 4 min music video on the Cyberpunk youtube channel about Sasha the netrunner in Maine's crew before Kiwi and Lucy join the crew.
I love the references from the game...the Delamin cab, personal insurance services, gangs of Tyger Claws and Maelstrom...it nails what Cyberpunk 2077 and Night City is all about.
I actually loved the game. But it’s been 2 years since I played and this hit all the nostalgic feels. And as a stand-alone anime this stands out visually and story wise. Very impressed. Studio Trigger never fails to deliver. I felt the same love with this as I did with Gurren Lagan
@@nicknevco215 i kind of agree. At first i felt that way. But overtime I realized this is the best ending. Because night city doesn’t give happy endings. Although would’ve been more satisfied if Lucy died too

Part of what I love about the anime so much is just how faithful it's adaptation is to the game. From the holograms putting out the same UI you have, to the guns they fire making the correct sounds, to every location being a location you could find in the game itself, there's just so many things to love about how much and how well they tied the elements in the anime back into the game.
Great story that introduces interesting characters and a story in a very short time. Trigger did an incredible job with the animation and I would say that if you have written it off at least watch it all for episode 6 alone. The episode is literally anime at its finest with action, storytelling, and animation. This is the episode Jake is referring to when he said it “blows the doors down”.

You can tell so much love and passion was put into the show to show these details. 10/10! They also literally managed to get so many extra people to suddenly become very insterested in the cyberpunk 2077 world. After the disaster of a launch and glitches galore, this amazing and intruiging anime have made the city "real" and "living" and of course bug fixes have drawn many new people in and old players back, like me.
Cyberpunk Edge runners' ending reminds me of the movie Sucker Punch. Like it's kind of "this story is not about me, but is about you" thing. Sad and good anime.

Literally just finished this series and am now in my scour the internet to cope mode. I put off watching this for a month and instantly regretted it. People were just raving about Arcane and I watched that and kinda felt mid about it, so I figured this would be just another people love their video game Netflix anime adaptation thing, but man am I pleasantly surprised to find out I was wrong. Didn't expect this to be one of my favorite things ever. Do not care about the game, but this show ruled.
I really hope this resurgence leads to the devs investing in another expansion. It's a great world to build upon and I would definitely pay for dlc (after reviews of course 😜)

honestly studio trigger has opened the door to Cyberpunk as a anime. there could be several seasons or volumes with each having different protagonist with different circumstances and wishes trying to survive Night City both Physically and mentally. My hope for Season 2 is for it to focus on Maxtech where each episode the protagonists squad investigates different cases of Cyberpsychos.
I enjoyed the show a lot! I was in the middle of finishing off a 2nd play through as a Corpo. My first play through was as a street kid. This anime was a dope perspective of both of those. Wouldn't mind seeing more. Definitely looking forward to the DLC coming for the game! Minus the glitches it's a dope game!
Just watched the first 5 episodes today and wow it was a lot better than I thought! I kept seeing it trending of twitter(Because of the green haired girl 😅) and it's really good! I think it's a pretty great show and 100% worth watching! I already know Imma be said when finishing it. You know a show is good when you want more. Surprised it's only one season, and I haven't even been keeping up with anime that much. I should get into it again. and it almost made me want to play cyberpunk 2077 lol. They swindled me yet again. Maybe I'll install it on my steamdeck and see if it runs on there. That'd be awesome
Needs more seasons but maybe in an anthology kind of way. Night City should be the thread that ties everything together but a second season that explores Night City from a corpo's POV or maybe even a Johnny Silverhand early escapades story
I knew this anime was gonna LOOK good cause it was trigger lol and I'm happy they were able to go nuts with the world(stopped playing and came back to it happy it seems they refuse to let this game die) and my favorite character is David loved his arch and wear his jacket in the game to honor him
This show is why I ever checked out anime in the first place (in the 90s). It's almost nostalgic in how insanely brutal it is while being mature.. and just cool as hell. Fits very well with Akira and Cowboy Bebop. Best show I've watched in a while.
I will check it out this weekend. Did anyone ever do that side quest on the game with the crucifying that guy on the cross? That was a crazy ass side quest.

On the game: I bought the game on launch today, but I never played it until this week just because I wanted to play it when it was patched up. That way, my experience wouldn't be ruined. The show just kind of tipped me over the edge to start haha. On the show: as much as I would love a season 2, they wrapped up this season so nicely. Like, I'm not sure where the story would go after this. Maybe instead of a season 2, probably just make a completely new titled show in the same universe and timeline.
Yeah, the only way this anime would make sense as a multiple season affair, if if they ran it as an anthology, where each season introduces new characters and plots.
If we're talking about a season 2, i think it would be interesting to see yet another story of a new character. Like not a continuation of the previous season, a whole new story, new characters.
If you liked Edgerunner and it's style, you definitely need to check out Studio Triggers other works. Kill la Kill is their most popular but it's a bit too lewd and fanservice-y if your a casual anime watcher like you yourself mentioned. Promare is probably their most accessible and one of their best works and a definite recommend, a solid follow-up if you're still on that Edgerunner high and want something more digestible since Promare is a movie. Little Witch Academia if you want anime Harry Potter, but HP is a dumb little girl. SSSS Gridman if you want a solid story and are a lover of old school super sentai power ranger megazord stuff.
CDPR was originally against the inclusion of a loli because they felt that it didn't fit with the tone of the world, but Trigger basically told them "the loli stays" and they got their way immediately, which is good cause Rebecca is one of the best characters (but Lucy still best girl)
Meh. Lucy looks good, but personality wise it’s a dangerous choice. She sold out David as soon as she met him. She’s a survivor, which is a necessary trait in Night City but it seems she survives at the expense of others.
@@AleksandrStrizhevskiy she only did that once and then she was the one to fall for him, by the half way point of the show she was completely willing to die for him
@@mookiestewart3776 I mean…I would only give someone one chance to stab me in the back. I think her character was well made, realistic, and believable. But I don’t think she amounts to the kind of person I would want in my life.
I watched it right after I finished this video. Shit was so good. It's been _so long_ since I watched an anime _this_ tight. I always ended up comparing great anime to Madoka, since it remains the 100/100 on my anime list even after all these years, and it ain't Madoka, but it belongs in the same shelf. Top tier action, story, cast, waifu, animation, all around all great. Though, you gotta love the dichotomy of Netflix either giving 10/10 animation or "Netflix Adaptation"s with little in-between.
Edgerunners has the kind of character development I was hoping to find in 2077. TRIGGER managed to create more personable, more compelling characters in a 10 episode anime than CDPR managed in a whole-ass 80+ hour game.
I'm watching it again too and came across your review. It hits very differently now that I know what the hell was going on. Thanks for the review brother ✌🏽
I'm someone who watches anime frequently and I have never played Cyberpunk nor ever planned to, but I watched the anime and really enjoyed it. The world building was very nice and I really like how each episode was engaging. I didn't think I would like the soundtrack too, but I really do.
Edgerunners blew me away! It's awesome i'll want to rewatch it again maybe this time the japanese version. Like yourself Jake i'm not an Anime person, decided to watch this because i did enjoy and completed Cyberpunk 2077 V story even though it was full of bugs at that time lol. I recently reinstalled and updated the game so yeah excited to play and experience a different V with maybe a different Waifu like Panam :p Off topic and a Word of mouth from your YT Comments section.. you should definitely check out Star Wars Andor if you haven't already, its dark and gritty, beautiful and amazing, i'm digging it to its core. Coming from a Star Wars gamer who loves Knights of the Old Republic, Star Wars Battlefront & Jedi Fallen Order. Oh yes i forgot to mention that i shed a tear now when listening to "I really want to stay at your house" now from the Cyberpunk 2077 Soundtrack, it hits different now
So I actually grew up with 90's anime and not much of a fan of a lot of the newer anime but I must say this show was really good. I hope they do a 2nd season just because of the quality of this 1st season.
When I heard that Studio Trigger was doing it, I was immediately hyped and knew it would be a banger show but I didn't expect such a faithful adaptation on this level. I remember playing the game when it came out and falling out with it but still enjoying the world and atmosphere. I wanted more of that cool but cruel world and Studio Trigger delivered. This show was mature, gritty, violent and beautiful and made me fall in love with Night City all over again. It's hard to choose favorite characters with all them being so great but I was sold on Lucy really early and later after rewatching with Becca. She's a real one

Awesome show! My favorite episode is stronger and the scene with slo-mo then replays real time was so badass! I rewatched it a few times! This show is def a work of art
If you haven't played the game, its super nice you don't need to have played the game at all. But if you have, it's crazy the amount of detail they added from the game, like mechanics, locations, people, weapons. It totally got me to redownload the game. And with some mods I got it running way better and with some other mods it feels great to get back into Night City after the 1.6 update. If they make another season though, I hope it'd be an anthology type separate from season ones story.
Great review. It’s incredible how many strong character arcs they crammed into the story. You feel like you get to know everyone, even that guy just driving the car. You feel for them, and with them. Great storytelling, and the opposite of what we get from Hollywood these days. Hope we get more of these slice-of-life in Night City stories.
dont want more seasons per se, but it would be awesome to keep getting more cyberpunk stories like this. like one could focus more on nomads and the struggles coming from and going to night city, while another focuses on an NCPD officer struggling with being dirty or not. so much potential in the cyberpunk world to make more amazing side stories.
I'd love to see it be an anthology series, with new cast of characters, new stories, even new time period, but all in the Cyberpunk and Night City world of the game.
So many stories to tell. So much that can be done.
This I like. Self contained stories of different people.

I think the reason Lucy fancied David in the first place is because he was a very innocent, natural and "organic" person and wholesome, amidst all the cyber chaos, corpo scheming, gang wars and nasty business, David was a person she could feel easy with. I'd like to see two more seasons, each with new stories and new characters: One corpo and one nomad - both to mirror the lifepath choices in the game, but also just because it would be interesting to see Night City from those perspectives.
I would love to see a corpo season. Maybe a corpo trying to keep their morals?
Well here's the thing, do an anime of every life path. Then in game each life path runs into those characters until you have a totally rounded roster of characters.
This might be a stretch too, but there's other borged out villains too. You could have each life path fight the arch nemesis of each series, that way your life path can determine your villain.
Corpo has a rival corpo to take down, and the nomad could at odds with some kind of ncpd crooked guy.
That's such a great Idea I love it!!!
I'd love that too, but sadly it would be made by another studio because studio Trigger doesn't do 2nd seasons for any anime they've done.
I can't see a second season with how it ended. But I could definitely see a spinoff series

Overall I'm really glad that its been so well received and brought people back into the game.
well said. I'm with you
I feel that way about Arcane honestly.

Exactly same as my experience. Last anime that i really enjoyed was kill la kill (also trigger)

He's a heroic idiot who witnessed how bad going insane is with all these modifications but still couldn't resist his spiral down, it's quite a tragic story since the developers are really good at making feel attached to characters and then ripping them away painfully...😣🤨
Anyways the show really did made you FEEL so many emotions by the end. Sadness, melancholy, emptiness etc etc... 😫
How they managed to create such an emotionally hard hitting and impactful story out of 10 episodes in a world of cybernetics and rotten crime is beyond me. Its incredible that they made such a good romance, action, psychological and gore anime at the same time. Im addicted to the let me stay song and watching the scenes again but it makes me super sad and it ruins my perfectly fine day lol 😭🤣. Really impressed and devastated at the same time...
As someone who played the game then watched the anime it's a great experience.

This is the first Edgerunners video that I’ve seen that doesn’t close with I Really Want to Stay at Your House
[SPOILERS WARNING BELOW]
Can't stop feeling sorry for Lucy. Lost everything. Her dream is nothing without David
The ending though is about David providing her a way out of the city, like she wanted, and she can find a new dream ;)
It's a true tragedy all around 😢
It also makes David and his Mom's fates come full circle.

I felt the same love with this as I did with Gurren Lagan
true just wish the end was cleaner

I wish they could just give us an alternate ending to fill our empty hearts, even one where Davids body dies but becomes a cyber soul or cyber consciousness inside Lucy is fine at this point 😭
Cyberpunk Edge runners' ending reminds me of the movie Sucker Punch. Like it's kind of "this story is not about me, but is about you" thing. Sad and good anime.
What a show! I loved it but I wish there was more of it!

Well said!
I wasn't prepared for how depressing it was gonna be. But, all my favorite stories are tragedies.

Amazing show, one of the best anime ever made, this is an experience not to be missed. This one really stuck with me all the time and the song is so bitter sweet and romantic man... Animation, soundtrack pacing, humour, colour, vibes, referencing...etc... 10/10!
I doubt it..it looks like they are looking forward to going to unreal engine 5 and leave behind red engine 4
@@jesseomollo9405 Yeah probably but you never know. It's far from a dead game and CDP are generally pretty adaptable.

Such a good game and TV show... and video. Well done, Jake.
Night City as a character itself, shown in the game and in the anime is just relentless.
They just dropped a pretty good comic it only has 4 issues. But it is called Cyberpunk 2077: BLACKOUT
I really like how they use a lot of the UI assets from the game which really cements the tie in without repeating the 2077 story
honestly studio trigger has opened the door to Cyberpunk as a anime. there could be several seasons or volumes with each having different protagonist with different circumstances and wishes trying to survive Night City both Physically and mentally. My hope for Season 2 is for it to focus on Maxtech where each episode the protagonists squad investigates different cases of Cyberpsychos.
The ending of Edgerunners legit had me contemplate my mortality, life, and relationships just as the game did once the credits rolled.
Amazing IP.
The show got me depressed. It starts off sad in a way but also quirky and fun... Then it just ends crushing your heart lol.
They have to make more content in that awesomely dystopian world
Two weeks have passed and still can’t get over it. Truly amazing work!
anime and cyberpunk themes go together like chocolate and peanut butter
spaghetti and meatballs
Book and mosquito
Shit Jake I didn't realize you had your own channel, should have known. I'm loving the cyber punk comeback the anime was top tier amazing.
It was really good! After playing the game and seeing all the references in the show, I was really impressed!
My heart can't handle a rewatch 🥺🥺
I would love to see a second season for this series.
I love cyberpunk edgerunners it’s such a amazing anime and freaking awesome
Just finished this series and was absolutely blown away. So good
Just watched the first 5 episodes today and wow it was a lot better than I thought!
I knew this anime was gonna LOOK good cause it was trigger lol and I'm happy they were able to go nuts with the world(stopped playing and came back to it happy it seems they refuse to let this game die) and my favorite character is David loved his arch and wear his jacket in the game to honor him
dude wtf I've been watching you off gameranks for like ever and this is the first time I come across your channel?? good find :)
It’s a blessed anime I cried 😔😔😔 believe me it’s real hard to make a real nigga cry 😭 on G
top tier shit

This show is why I ever checked out anime in the first place (in the 90s). It's almost nostalgic in how insanely brutal it is while being mature.. and just cool as hell. Fits very well with Akira and Cowboy Bebop. Best show I've watched in a while.
Cyberpunk Edgerunners put the "punk" back into Cyberpunk
I will check it out this weekend. Did anyone ever do that side quest on the game with the crucifying that guy on the cross? That was a crazy ass side quest.

Edgerunner is the best thing to happen in gaming and the anime world this year.
I feel like Jak and Daxter would make a great anime, especially taking place in the 2nd and 3rd game!
I thought I took acid
Sorry to burst your bubble, but CDPR also wrote the anime.

I am late, but I just finished it, wow. This show is amazing, I got a little misty eyed at the end.
I'm someone who watches anime frequently and I have never played Cyberpunk nor ever planned to, but I watched the anime and really enjoyed it. The world building was very nice and I really like how each episode was engaging. I didn't think I would like the soundtrack too, but I really do.
The anime really made me fall In love with the world of cyberpunk in a way the game couldn't. I hope to god trigger makes another cyberpunk anime
Gotta check it out today, didn't expect people to be into it this much.
This show hit so good!! Thanks for giving it attention!!!
If Trigger and Netflix do another season it should involve other characters and sides of Nightcity we have not seen yet.
The composer for this Akira Yamaoaka also did the icon music in the earlier silent hill games
That's how I felt going in. Wasn't too stoked about it. But I ended up bingeing the whole thing in one sitting
Oh yes i forgot to mention that i shed a tear now when listening to "I really want to stay at your house" now from the Cyberpunk 2077 Soundtrack, it hits different now
The music for the show was done by The Silent Hill composer.
Gonna watch it this weekend thanks for recommending. I still haven’t played through cyberpunk either cause of the prior issues & launch.
So I actually grew up with 90's anime and not much of a fan of a lot of the newer anime but I must say this show was really good. I hope they do a 2nd season just because of the quality of this 1st season.
When I heard that Studio Trigger was doing it, I was immediately hyped and knew it would be a banger show but I didn't expect
such a faithful adaptation on this level.

If they make another season though, I hope it'd be an anthology type separate from season ones story.
yeah i just jump in in this cyberpunk edge runners it feels so heartbreaking but at the same time its good , i want to jump the game again www
