Nobody can touch this duo. Mystery and Temptation. Lee's natural voice out paces any other's. He has the ability to convey innocence and raw masculinity at the same time. Nancy seems to have inspired him very much. They make a great duo - hey - the greatest duo !
The classic version is by Nancy and Lee. You need his southern twang to make the cowboy part belivable. He was a musical genius. His use of violins and horns in this arrangement is brillant. R.I.P. Lee.
H and M commercial brought me here today, Thursday May 18, 2017 @ 8:20 AM while watching a rerun of "Million Dollar Listing" on Bravo. I remembered this song from High School back in 1967. Amazing how a song can (in memory) transport you back in time.
Lee Hazelwood is my new musical hero! I always knew who he was (I thought), but as I get deeper into his music, I am astonished what I missed for so many years. Viva Lee!
I am ashamed to say that I am in my 30s and teach at an ARTS Elementary school and am hearing this song for the very first time tonight. They jolly lyrics with the very dark melody. I love it.
Strawberries, cherries and an angel's kiss in spring My summer wine is really made from all these things I walked in town on silver spurs that jingled to A song that I had only sang to just a few She saw my silver spurs and said let's pass some time And I will give to you summer wine Ohh, summer wine Strawberries, cherries and an angel's kiss in spring My summer wine is really made from all these things Take off your silver spurs and help me pass the time And I will give to you summer wine Ohh, summer wine My eyes grew heavy and my lips they could not speak I tried to get up but I couldn't find my feet She reassured me with an unfamiliar line And then she gave to me more summer wine Ohh, summer wine Strawberries, cherries and an angel's kiss in spring My summer wine is really made from all these things Take off your silver spurs and help me pass the time And I will give to you summer wine Mmm, summer wine When I woke up the sun was shining in my eyes My silver spurs were gone, my head felt twice its size She took my silver spurs, a dollar and a dime And left me cravin' for more summer wine Ohh, summer wine Strawberries, cherries and an angel's kiss in spring My summer wine is really made from all these things Take off your silver spurs and help me pass the time And I will give to you my summer wine
I am listening to this song in the year 2437 and l tell you distant cousins it still sounds ...soooo.goooood ...!!!!!.by the way Nancy Sinatra is still alive .and will be 497 years old in two weeks .!😁😁😁
I exposed my son Brian Y to Lee and Nancy and this unforgetable song. He carried it to another audience, by his bands live cover performance. Lee Hazlewood left us a gift when he passed. Nancy and Lee are part of musical history. We love you both for your contibubution to American Music. I hope you read this Nancy....you are the tops !!!! I am Jerry in Poway, Ca.
I was born in 63 but love Nancy Sinatra.Weird, but her songs are pretty good. The 2 favorites i love are "these boots are made for walking & summer wine"
Thanks for posting this very rare clip. What's so great is that it shows that Ms. Sinatra was totally legit - no auto-tuning, she could kill it live... she had a great voice, intelligent delivery, very alluring in a slightly surreal way,,, She was treated as an oddity by the media and by pop culture, kind of a kitschy act, and has never received the credit she's due. She's a seriously talented woman and many thanks to Lee Hazelwood for bringing the best out of her. They made some incredible singles that have well stood the test of time.
Lee and Nancy should both be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Him first, as he made her the star that she became. She could be the person to induct him into the Hall. That would be great. She made an impact in music in the 1960's and beyond, and she should be placed in the Hall, also. Love them both.
As a 1st wave Boomer (born in'46) I remembered how Shindig was an absolute Must-See show back then. Kids of the last 30 years just can't understand that seeing something on TV once and never see it again. Yeah, it was a "one time thing". Beatles were famous for stopping a recording session half-way through it so they could all go over to Paul's house to watch the movie "The Girl Can't Help it" on TV. So, for me, and probably millions od those my age, I've been in music heaven since TH-cam came into existence. Oh, and this is a fact regardless of those who think otherwise, for the first few years (64-67) the electronics for many TV shows were not adequate for live performances of rock & roll. Heck, just go listen to the Beatles on Sullivan. So, the immediate solution was to record the instrumental on Thursday or Friday, rehearse once, then go live the next day. When Shindig came out on VHS the promo literature pointed this out. Yep, I'm in music heaven. Imagine seeing the Spencer Davis Group singing live on Norwegian TV back in 1966, in HD no less.
Reminds me of being a kid. My dad was some what a modern day cowboy. But as a young girl I never really understood the song's meaning. Of course, I do now.
@@johnalanfranklin1923 They had a lot of sexual chemistry when they worked together. Both were married at the time, but rumors were that they were having an affair.
this is soooo good, it is an absolute classic, just rediscovered nancy and lee after a recent song on jjj, very very under recognized pair, this is once again one of their songs that is a part of you growing up but you dont remember till you hear it on the tube..........
I remember seeing this on TV in the summer at the age of 10. It played in my head for the rest of the summer. Strawberries, cherries, and an angel's kiss in spring ...
May, 1967. I turned five years old. I was given a birthday party at the Philadelphia Zoo, where a boa constrictor was draped around my neck. I think my mom wanted to get rid of me!
Well, it was a well-fed, trained snake, and they did this for all the birthday kids back then. The 1960's, entertainment was hard to come by. A memorable experience, as you can tell!
... i'm born in March '71 (yeah, i'm a March Hare! :P) but somehow, i feel that time more close to my heart than eighties, when i was a late teen... :)
i am 66 yrs and have always watched and enjoyed all their songs, or maybe iam still in love with Nancy S., whats with this video? looks like something on her back, besides my thoughts and fantasies!!
+Rudolph Baca I think the cinematographer used a mirror to film Nancy on Lee Hazlewood's left and then filmed her 'in person' on his right. At the same time the way she was standing, and the effect of light, created an unfortunate introduction to this beautiful song.
Nobody can touch this duo. Mystery and Temptation. Lee's natural voice out paces any other's. He has the ability to convey innocence and raw masculinity at the same time. Nancy seems to have inspired him very much. They make a great duo - hey - the greatest duo !
I was 17, now I'm 74 but will never forgot this time
Lee hazelwood : such an underrated singer
This low quality video and static sound just makes it even more awesome. The sound just so pleasant.
Haha yeah I agree!
I agree❤️
I had this record with me in Vietnam in 1967, Cha Rang Valley. It got me through many long fear filled nights.
@@geoffreycoghy3783 yes
and you made it.... thank you.
I remember my Mum playing this on our record player, dancing around the house.
Ruby Tuesday mine too...
mine too, i miss those days
When this song came out in 1966 it instantly became my all time favorite song. Whatever happened to music like this????? Incredible stuff!!
Thank God..I was born in the 60s (1965)...glad I was part of this GREAT era for it's timeless music...witness the magic of real music 60s 70s 80s...
I loved in the 60s and I love it now Lee and Nancy's voices together wow!!!!
My parents had these records. I’ve been listening to this music since I was a child. Still put them on some of my playlists.
Its one of the best songs ever ! Have you seen this HQ version of it : th-cam.com/video/72eVrHsqm44/w-d-xo.html Enjoy !
Thank God for Lana for breathing life back into the 60s.
If it were'nt for her I would have never been introduced to such awesome music.
i like Lana Del Rey too, but Ville Valo and Natalia Avelon did a cover many years ago

Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazlewood *Summer Wine* -1967
Wonderful .!!!!!!!!
heart touching song of the golden era. those days will never come but the beautiful music will always be there.
It's almost 2018 & I'M listening to this song. They don't make men like Lee Hazlewood anymore. The horns & strings in this arrangement are amazing.
Great record. Nancy's voice is so accomplished and beautiful.
This song is just wow, my childhood memory
if we could only relive all them memories?WOW!

The H&M ad brought me back to the 60s and this terrific song that I had forgotten. Love it !.
This is somehow just ethereal, and I love it always.
2018 but I am watching. Heard it today while eating breakfst in a Hampton Inn in Washington DC. Beautiful song. Had to look it up.
1967!!!! OMG .... I love this . before i was even concieved
maybe it's HOW you were conceived...
What a great base voice!
I can listen to it a thousand times and even I won't stop listening to it another time.
this song is on the top 100 best songs ever i think !!!!
you hv great taste. check out 2013 movie version with Nicole Kidmann.

Loved this when it first came out and still do. A haunting melody with good artists.
Strawberries, cherries and an angel's kiss in spring
My summer wine is really made from all these things
I walked in town on silver spurs that jingled to
A song that I had only sang to just a few
She saw my silver spurs and said let's pass some time
And I will give to you summer wine
Ohh, summer wine
Strawberries, cherries and an angel's kiss in spring
My summer wine is really made from all these things
Take off your silver spurs and help me pass the time
And I will give to you summer wine
Ohh, summer wine
My eyes grew heavy and my lips they could not speak
I tried to get up but I couldn't find my feet
She reassured me with an unfamiliar line
And then she gave to me more summer wine
Ohh, summer wine
Strawberries, cherries and an angel's kiss in spring
My summer wine is really made from all these things
Take off your silver spurs and help me pass the time
And I will give to you summer wine
Mmm, summer wine
When I woke up the sun was shining in my eyes
My silver spurs were gone, my head felt twice its size
She took my silver spurs, a dollar and a dime
And left me cravin' for more summer wine
Ohh, summer wine
Strawberries, cherries and an angel's kiss in spring
My summer wine is really made from all these things
Take off your silver spurs and help me pass the time
And I will give to you my summer wine
Thank you Evans, for those lirics.
I could not pick up from the song, but immediately got from your comments. Thank you once again.
Even as a young girl of 10 or 11, his line about a song he only sang to just a few, made me swoon. Thank goodness my Dad had this album.
I love this song

Good, so good. I'm lost for words.
You can clearly see it's good quality: good voices, clever text, decency , and no Vevo adervertising,
This has been my theme song for summer 2019. God I love this song.

such a great song. What a surprrise that so many singers did sing it. Wonderful!
Auch 2016 immer noch ein wunderschönes Lied. Für mich: Unvergesslich!
Nancy Sinatra war immer sehr "cool". Stimmit genau.

one of my all time favorites...I just put it on repeat...and it's May, 18th. 2017
I love Nancy's voice! But I love Lana's cover so much! Barrie James compliments her voice so well.
Lee and Nancy , for me, are the gems of country/pop. I'm more of a pop/rocker but this is gorgeous.
Its always interesting to think about the awesomeness of the Sinatras.
A nearly forgotten 007's music, and beautiful voices. Hope someone will remember it.

all this time and I STILL know the lyrics....
This was the first time I had heard this since the halcyon 60s and lie you, I still remembered the lyrics. I don't know if that is good or bad, lol.
+Bill Pollock It's Good! I was 14 years old in '67 still love this song!
+LaDonna Ghareeb they had a good run in 67 & '68 and did some great songs.
Probably the best song ever!!! My all time favorite... Evergreen !!!

What has gone wrong in the music industry they don't make them like this anymore
This song sounds like a slow down of in the year 2525
It's about quick money and no more sentimetal values.

There is still plenty of good music, it just doesn't make it to the top list.
Une vidéo réussie -très- pour une chanson toujours -éternellement- émouvante qui n'arrête pas de me donner des frissons à chaque écoute.

Just awesome. Gives m the goosebumps whenever I listen to it
I subconsciously thought this was from a Bond movie for years. Its got that Bond type refrain in it-especially at the end
Possibly because Nancy Sinatra DID sing the title track for the 1967 Bond film You Only Live twice.
Just discovered this song and love it both great voices
verry good song !!
Just amazing the memories that these great icons have left in music unbelievable will last forever
