I had to take a second look. That FDNY Ambulance kind of, slightly, jumped the curb and came down the sidewalk a few feet. Now granted we are, (myself and my Department), in the south. We do some crazy stuff. But even our guys, jump a curve and drive on the sidewalk. You gonna get you nuts busted. To many cell cameras these days, and everyone has them!
Michael Gillispie Its just a curb. If I have to choose between going over the curb or arriving minutes later, I'll always take the curb. Seconds count, especially in major emergencies. Its easier to ask for forgiveness then for permission^^
They are EMS units used for really large structure fires and mass casualty incidents where there is a lot of severely injured people but they are also used as a rehab units to check the firefighters at fires. There now does that answer your question, at least be respectful to JJ cause he Did give you the answer but I gave you a little bit more of an idea of what they do. JJ if you see this comment I'd like to say great video as always Bud.
WHAT PART OF "MEDICAL UNIT" US UNCLEAR TO YOU! HAVE ANY IDEA OF THE AMOUNT OF WORK I HAVE EVERYDAY OF MY LIFE FOR THE LAST 14 YEARS......I GAVE THE APPROPRIATE ANSWER.......ITS A MEDICAL UNIT.....
Please excuse the ignorance but what does MERV and MRTU stand for and what are the functions. Sim from a small city in South Western Ontario Canada we only have 4 stations with 10 County stations
Poor Merv, in every scene he's in, he comes down the street looking like a 'Sharp Dressed Man', with a wimpy, High-Pitched voice that keeps hollering " I NEED A 'Q' - PLEASE GIVE ME A ' Q ' !!!!" "Everybody Else in the Shops Have Them ! C'mon !"
I’ve seen the mrtu #3 out of Brooklyn that thing is the biggest and a real beast. I talked to the driver for some Time at a collapse I think his name was TJ nice guy gave me a tour after the call of the truck . Super shinny too says he washes it 3X a week and waxes it monthly even have tire shine on the tires.
We have one of these in my town except it is Fire/police and responds whenever there is a major fire or tons of police are needed ie: a person missing in a large forest.
This is also like in the Philippines....no one moves for the first responders...sad, no matter how many lights you have, no matter how many different warning sounds you have, these congested cities not made to have soo many people, and for first responders...it is a nightmare.
The favorite line you say is "Where the RAC at?" I hear it all the time. Well done capturing many apparatuses!
