    Great & chill insight. I think one thing I think and it’s similar to your thoughts is that riding motorcycles puts you in “the here and now” instead of the past or future. It’s truly a way to live in the moment and see, smell, hear, and feel perspectives we wouldn’t otherwise.

    • @JonsMotoGarage
      @JonsMotoGarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well said! It puts you in the moment, if not for just a moment. Hahaha! Profound!

    Absolutely! I can say i get depressed in the winter months when i can't ride, to the point where it'll affect my mood and I'll lose interest in doing the daily things I like to do but I always snap out of it and I stop feeling bad for myself realizing I'm being a little puke because I can't have my way when there are people out there who would give anything to not be blind for just one minute or even walk for only a day. Anyway, real life and I'm blessed to be able to enjoy another J'sMG film.

      Well said, brotha! It's easy to fall into the depths of despair. But you point out just how good we--well, most of us--have it. 🤘😎

      Man, I have to watch bikers riding the epic, sunny US highways to survive a winter with a mind intact... (living in Europe where usually 3 to 5 months are out of game). That's why Jon's stuff works for me.

    It keeps my reflexes and mind sharp. After riding for 43 years only flying is comparable, but only flying low!

      I've heard similar things about flying! For now, the only flying I do is the occasional jump off the roof. hahaha!

    Freedom. That ancient feeling that you can go anywhere, anytime, just modern era version. Of course I know: got to earn the licence, got to dress up, got to fill the tank, stick to tarmac roads for most bikes... sure. But that thousand(s) years ago you'd still have to catch a mustang, learn how to ride it, take care of it and feed it :) so I'll say there are still shadows or traces of that true old school feeling of freedom, going where you want and how you want. A bit pompous words maybe but that's how I see it. Started to ride out of pure practicality issues, and that evolved through hobby into real passion. Just find a bike that fits you, experiment with different types, there's a chance that one day it simply "clicks".
    My humble advice: don't avoid type of bike not on your radar generally, give it a try, ask a friend etc. I've never considered a sportbike, and how surprising it was to find my ass most comfortable on this type! I don't even ride very fast, sh&t scares me too much, but the dynamics and agility are different story and sports take it to another level. Accelerating like afterburning jet fighter and decelerating with unholy physics-questioning rates. Probably the best way to spend, even waste money on. Drop drinking, smoking, gambling, and get you that nice machine that has always attracted your attention but there is always some "not yet, maybe later, some day". Do stupid stuff like wheelies on a Harley (just kidding, no one does that).

      @JonsMotoGarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hahaha! Great words, my friend! Thanks for sharing! I agree 100%! There are so many bikes I swore I would never ride that are either sitting in my garage now, or are on my dream list. Lol. IT's pretty awesome that we have so many options and choices available. Like you and the sport bike, you never know until you try it out. I'm still trying to get my hands on a kawasaki concours. I hear great things about those. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    I'd be so upset if I landed in that water 😅 and all these things are true. No matter how upset I am or stressed. The second I swing my leg over a machine with two wheels and I have a instant smile again.

    Besides what you said.
    Exploring and discovering new places... food..
    Being able to get around cars in traffic and not even lane splitting per se.
    Finding parking.

    In its own way, it has helped with my ptsd and being able to find others to ride with has kind of gave me a sense of camaraderie again like I had in the military. It also helped me appreciate the smaller things in life... things that most people don't realize like the sensation of riding on a hot day but getting small pockets of cool air when riding... something that, although brief, is satisfying. Being able to just feel free. When I am riding, all problems just fade away. It's not only therapeutic but can be meditative in a way. It forces me to get out (which you covered) but it has helped me break out of my shell. *The more I ride, the more I wanna get out, and the more I get out, the more people I wanna meet.* I had to make that bold because although I just thought of it, I feel that sentence describes it perfectly for me

    Honestly, I wake up in the mornings , in Ireland. It could be lashing rain outside and pitch black at 7am. I have my coffee and jump on my bike and just start my day with a burst of adrenaline and happiness. Passing all the cars stuck in traffic and getting to work wide awake. I cannot imagine life any other way.

    Dig it still. Been awhile since I've commented, but still dig it. 1. Yep! 2. Abso-friggin'-lutely! 3. Sure. Don't do it much, but I'm in the minority there. Definitely online bridges though. 4. Indeed...48 and still learning a ton. 5. Amen brother. The ride I took this past Friday (posted it on my channel...a channel I'm not trying to grow, just storing some footage) covers 4 of your 5. Check it out if you get a minute. Great fall leaves, canyon riding, dirt and pavement, up Spanish Fork Canyon. BTW, I swear i saw your van in SF Utah this past Saturday. If not, it could've passed for you. Anyway, great content continually. Best...SNAPP

    Ebike are even more fun because of all the grey area behind them I'd recommend everyone get one before they get a motorcycle Because I kid you not when people see my super 73 most people will just automatically assume that it's a motorcycle and what's crazy is it technically could be if I added an extra battery and then I could easily reach up to 75 but honestly I don't like using a helmet so keeping it under 35 is perfect I also have a soft tail Harley but nothing turns eyes more then when you look like you're on a motorcycle and you're able to maneuver around traffic cut through the side walks and even give a girl a ride just as long as she's sitting in the front so she can't accidently mess up your whole steering if she starts freaking out

    I ride because is therapeutic, the feeling of freedom and just being in the moment without any distractions! Also its seems to be good form of excercise because when im back home i feel exhausted and im more hungry :D Especially when i ride on highway, i have mt-07 so from time to time its really demanding to control the bike because of the wind resisntace.
