- DAHER-SOCATA unveiled March 12, 2014 the newest member in its TBM family of very fast, single-engine turboprop business aircraft -- the TBM 900 -- which offers improved efficiency, an enhanced environment for both pilots and passengers, and superior performance without increased fuel consumption or additional engine power. Developed during a more than three-year program involving 160,000 research and development hours, along with 200 hours of flight testing, the TBM 900 has been certified in December 2013 and has been ready for deliveries beginning of March 2014

The only one that I can afford is the "Hotstart" TBM900 for X-Plane 11, but it is very accurate and a lot of fun to fly.

Serious question: what happens when a passenger has a need to use the restroom while in flight?
Toilet option is available, however you shall loose two seats

You open the door and jump all the way down to the nearest bathroom.
Once you’re done, fly back up and take your seat again.
Easy peasy.
Don’t forget to wash your hands when you’re done. IATA demands it.
I wonder how it compares to the pilatus pc12?
From what I've read it will depend on the mission profile. The new TBM 900 has a significantly faster cruise speed, lower cost per NM, and slightly longer range. On the other hand the cabin of the PC-12 NG is MUCH nicer and has MUCH more volume. Because of my normal flights profiles, I'm leaning toward the TBM. The 37 gallons/hour for the TBM 900 versus 66 gallons/hour for the PC-12 is huge to me. If I didn't care about costs I'd probable get PC-12 NG because the payload and cabin volume are highly appealing.

Max cruise speed: 280 ktas
Max range: 1,560 nm (3 Pax, 30,000 ft, NBAA IFR reserve)
Max operating altitude: 30,000 ft
Takeoff distance over 50 ft obstacle: 2,650 ft
Landing distance over 50-ft obstacle: 1,830 ft
TBM 900:
Typical Seating: 6
Max cruise speed: 330 KTAS at FL280 (in ISA conditions)
Max range: 1,730 nm @ 250 KTAS | 1,410 nm @ 28,000 ft 330 KTAS
Max operating altitude: 31,000
Takeoff distance over 50-ft obstacle: 2,380 ft
Landing distance over 50-ft obstacle: 2,430 ft
Not the same aircrafts at all and designed for very different missions.

The reason it crashed was due to loss of cabin pressure. Pilot lost consciousness, was slumped over, then it ran out of fuel. Two fighter jets were sent to intercept after radio contact was unresponsive. Unfortunate accident. Condolences to the family.
