Thank you. Yep, it floats, and the netting matterial is more like a rubberized material, so it makes it easy to remove the hook, if the fish slosh around and get all tangled in the net. The only downside that I have found is it is a bit difficult to net good sized pike (it is around 18" across). www.basspro.com/shop/en/offshore-angler-wading-net
